Chapter 24 - Chapter 16 Being Targeted

Lu Tiandu picked up the blue stone and examined it again. It bore a resemblance to a common earth-attributed spiritual material called Blue Star Sand, found in the world of immortal cultivation. However, it was clearly not Blue Star Sand.

Furthermore, within the stone lay what looked like an insect egg, though it gave the appearance of being petrified by age and wind.

"Is that some kind of insect egg?" Lu Tiandu asked curiously.

The stall was empty, and the woman, seeing Lu Tiandu's genuine interest, was eager to sell it. After all, many people shook their heads when they heard a stone of unknown purpose being priced the same as a mid-level defensive talisman.

"According to a master's appraisal, it's believed to contain the eggs of a demonic beast, but it's long since died. How these eggs ended up in the stone is unknown. It's likely that one of those earth-attributed demonic beasts laid eggs there..."

The woman recounted her findings.

Lu Tiandu felt something was a little different about the stone, and the price was reasonable, so he immediately decided to buy it. However, spirit stones were very useful to him, so he wanted to see if he could trade them for something else.

"I wonder if you can trade for anything besides spirit stones?"

"If you don't have enough spirit stones, elixirs that increase your cultivation level would be fine. Ten spirit stones would be enough, and you don't have to take out other magical instruments, talismans, or anything like that..." the woman said calmly.

This man, at the eleventh level of cultivation, didn't even have ten spirit stones—truly a casual cultivator! He probably spent all his money on elixirs that increased his cultivation level. She was quite disappointed. She had been planning to sell him a few of her own talismans!

Lu Tiandu pondered for a moment, then pulled out two bottles of elixirs from his storage bag: a Yellow Dragon Pill and a Golden Marrow Pill. If the stall owner didn't already have a large collection of talismans, he would have actually offered them in exchange.

After all, elixirs refined in the Creation Furnace were rare outside, and he didn't want to reveal them to others.

"This elixir should be effective for those below the twelfth level. Fellow Daoist, please examine it!"

Lu Tiandu casually tossed the bottle over. The black-robed female cultivator raised her head slightly, and the jade bottle was firmly grasped by a pair of slender, white, green jade fingers.

Seeing the two beautiful hands peeking out from beneath the black garment, Lu Tiandu couldn't help but glance at the blue stone, pretending to play with it.

Those hands were indeed beautiful, and he wondered what the face beneath the bamboo hat looked like. Lu Tiandu's thoughts wandered.

Meanwhile, the woman had already poured out a pill and carefully sniffed it, but her veil still prevented any glimpse of her features.

"Yes, this elixir is remarkably pure, and the herbs appear to be quite old. It's worth over ten spirit stones. Fellow Daoist, you can choose two or three lower-level talismans as compensation..."

The woman said with a hint of joy after examining the elixir.

"No need," Lu Tiandu smiled faintly, put away the blue stone, and stood up to leave. There wasn't much good to be found in this place. It was time to return.

  "Wait a minute."

The woman suddenly called out to Lu Tiandu again, whispering, "Do you have any extra elixirs? Anything on my stall can be exchanged?"

Lu Tiandu frowned slightly and said calmly, "What are you saying? Who would trade these cultivation-boosting elixirs unless they were desperately short of spirit stones? I only have these two bottles left..."

The woman didn't believe it. She secretly suspected that Lu Tiandu had used all his spirit stones to refine these elixirs. And since he could trade two bottles for a stone she considered useless, he must have more. The

woman giggled again, her gentle voice echoing,

"Since you don't value the things on my stall, how about I trade you some information for the elixirs?"

Lu Tiandu couldn't guess what she meant. He wasn't afraid of the man's robbing; the man was only at the twelfth level, so he wasn't afraid. Besides, anyone who dared to act in the market would surely be suppressed by the Foundation Establishment cultivators working in the shadows.

As for the information, Lu Tiandu couldn't guess what was worth paying attention to. Or is it about that stone?

"Fellow Daoist, please speak!" Lu Tiandu said calmly.

The woman pinched a magic formula and set up a soundproof shield, then said solemnly:

"Fellow Daoist, do you know that you have been targeted?"

 "What?"

This surprised Lu Tian. He had been very careful this time at the Tianxing Sect market, selling talismans in batches, never exceeding fifteen per shop, and worth a few dozen spirit stones at most. Could they have been discovered?

He didn't doubt the woman's information was false; after all, he would know for sure once he verified it later.

In reality, she wasn't the type to meddle in other people's affairs. In the cultivation world, there were so many murders and treasure-stealing incidents every day; who could possibly manage it all?

But after all, this person had the elixir he needed. With these bottles of elixir, his sister's cultivation would surely improve significantly. Thinking of this, a touch of tenderness grew in his heart.

"Thirty feet to your right, on a staircase, there's a man dressed in blue, wearing a cloak, toying with a jade ring... He's been following you twice..."

the woman said calmly, as if negotiating a price with Lu Tiandu, the seller. "And during that time, he's been whispering with someone dressed similarly..."

At this point, the woman chuckled, knowing the man's expression beneath the cloak was likely grim. He wondered if he was an enemy or if someone else was targeting him.

"I have quite a few high-level talismans here. You might want to buy a few for emergencies..."

The woman began promoting her own talismans.

By this time, Lu Tiandu had already detected the person following him with his spiritual sense. Thinking back, he seemed to have encountered him in a shop before. Because he was only at the eleventh level of cultivation, he hadn't taken him seriously, a bit careless, which immediately made him feel a little annoyed. As expected,

distributing so many talismans at once had caught the attention of someone with ulterior motives. He wondered how many accomplices he had.

"Forget about the talisman." Lu Tiandu also pretended to discuss with the other party, "This information is very important to me. I have to thank you very much, fellow Daoist... How can I give you the elixir?"

This person really still has the elixir!

How to give it to him? Just give it to me.

No, this person probably doesn't want to show that he has the elixir anymore. After all,

when the two of them chatted and she tested the elixir before, he didn't guard against others. Now that he was being followed, he didn't want to attract attention.

"Fellow Daoist, why don't you... why don't you..."

Many thoughts flashed through her mind. The woman hesitated for a long time before she said the words that asked the two to touch hands with their sleeves hidden.

After she finished speaking, a few blushes suddenly rose on the beautiful oval face under the bamboo hat, but unfortunately no one saw this beautiful face.

The two squatted together, pretending to bargain, and their hands under the sleeves secretly approached each other.

Inhaling a scent tinged with sweet-scented osmanthus, Lu Tiandu's fingers touched a slightly cool spot. Suddenly, the two bottles of pills in his hands disappeared, leaving only a soft touch...

Glancing at the female stall owner who had suddenly fallen silent, Lu Tiandu pretended that the negotiation had not been concluded and walked leisurely to the next stall...

"Sure enough, I'm being targeted," Lu Tiandu's eyes flashed with murderous intent. "I don't know if my frequent ins and out of shops has been noticed by someone by chance, or if a shop owner has taken notice..."

"However, since you dare to take notice of me, you must be prepared to be killed by me..."

Thinking of this, he no longer cared about the person behind him, and without hesitation, he calmly entered the Stardust Pavilion, the largest shop in the Tianxing Sect market.
