Chapter 30 - Chapter 22 Please Die

"I've gained quite a bit this time!"

Lu Tiandu fell into deep thought after carefully examining the information contained on the jade slips.

One of the slips contained the weapon-refining experience of a late-stage Foundation Establishment elder of the Divine Weapon Sect, along with the methods for refining several magical instruments, including the Spirit Light Shuttle.

As for the materials left behind by the elder, presumably for one or more of these instruments, Lu Tiandu hadn't had time to examine them closely.

As a renowned weapon-refining sect within the Yuanwu Kingdom, the Divine Weapon Sect's secret refining techniques must have their own unique characteristics. Unfortunately, Lu Tiandu had no in-depth knowledge of the subject and could only keep it for now.

Unlike sects like the Moon-Blanking Sect and Spirit Beast Mountain, Huangfeng Valley, unlike the other seven sects, possessed distinct traditions, being a hodgepodge of sects that dabbled in a variety of subjects, none mastered in any one. Lu Tiandu had never heard of any renowned weapon-refining masters or traditions in Huangfeng Valley.

Even this refining experience from a late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator of the Divine Weapon Sect would be a rare treasure for the Foundation Establishment cultivators of Huangfeng Valley.

Despite the legacy left by their Jindan-level ancestor, the Lu family lacks exceptional skill in weapon forging. The family's skilled forgers are limited to crafting only high-tier magical instruments.

The top-tier magical instruments sold at the Lu family's Jinyu Pavilion are typically forged with materials gathered and assistance from others.

This knowledge, if utilized effectively, could significantly enhance the Lu family's wealth. However, there's no need to reveal the unique magical instrument refining methods included in the jade slip; they're clearly only accessible to the elders of the Divine Weapon Sect.

As for the Spirit Light Shuttle, he can use it with confidence. After all, his activities primarily focus on Yue State, and he's not afraid of discovery from Yuanwu State cultivators.

Finally, there's the map to the secret cave of a Jindan-level cultivator from the Divine Weapon Sect, along with some notes from the elder's experience breaking the formation.

While the Jindan-level cultivator's cave is captivating, Lu Tiandu certainly won't explore it for now.

After all, even a cultivator in the late Foundation Establishment stage can't break through it. However, he'll certainly explore it when the opportunity arises.

The purpose of this trip had been achieved, and several top-tier magical instruments had been obtained. Unsure whether the disappearance of the three men would spark investigations from his clan, Lu Tiandu planned to cultivate for a few days in the Stone Pearl World before returning to the Lu family as soon as possible.

Seven days passed in a flash, and Lu Tiandu felt his magical powers improve slightly. He resolved that, unless there were important matters, he would first raise his cultivation to the thirteenth level before returning to the family.

Although he ultimately won the duel, upon reviewing the situation, he realized that his current cultivation level was insufficient to fully unleash the power of the treasures in his possession. After all, these top-tier magical instruments, above the exquisite grade, could only be fully realized in the hands of a cultivator at the Foundation Establishment stage.

  "Huh?"

Fleeting out of the Stone Pearl World, Lu Tiandu gathered several formation flags, released his spiritual sense, and hummed softly.

"No, this wasn't like this a few days ago? When did this desolate mountain become so windy and sandy?"

Sensing something amiss, Lu Tiandu immediately alerted himself. A faint golden light emanated from his body, and he clutched several talismans in his hands.

He practiced the Wind Control Technique and stood in the void above the mountainside, frowning.

The entire mountain was surrounded by a swirling cloud of yellow sand and a fierce wind. The wind whipped the sand into a pattern, surprising Lu Tiandu.

"Oh no! This must be some kind of formation! It's even suppressing spiritual consciousness..."

After a moment of careful contemplation, Lu Tiandu's face changed.

This desolate mountain, with its thin spiritual energy, how could someone have set up a formation here?

When searching for a place to stay, he had deliberately chosen an inconspicuous hilltop with thin spiritual energy. This meant the formation had only been set up in the last few days.

He remembered that he had already destroyed the three men, and since they all came from small families without even a Foundation Establishment cultivator, it was impossible for them to set up a formation right here to block him.

  "Bad luck..."

Lu Tiandu cursed inwardly. Setting up a formation in such a desolate mountain meant either a practice or a battle, neither of which was good news for Lu Tiandu.

Moreover, judging by the spiritual pressure emanating from this formation, a cultivator at the Qi Refining stage would likely be unable to break through it.

After flying casually for a moment, Lu Tiandu felt that this was not going to work. Flying within this formation was draining his mana more than usual.

Slowly descending, Lu Tiandu activated the Wind Walking Technique, fluttering low in the air while calling out,

"Which senior is practicing formations here? I have inadvertently intruded upon this place. I beg for forgiveness if I have offended you. Please release the formation and allow me to leave?"

Lu Tiandu called out several times, but still no one responded, further perplexing him.

However, he remained vigilant. In this environment filled with yellow sand, his spiritual awareness was affected, making it all too easy for a surprise attack.

Lu Tiandu knew very little about formations, and he only had a few common formation flags in the world of immortal cultivation. He could only grit his teeth and attempt to break the formation.

He used the Wind Walk technique to find a direction and flew straight for half an hour, consuming a lot of spiritual energy. Unexpectedly, he was swept back to a hillside by a gust of wind. This made Lu Tian's face darken.

  "Who?"

Suddenly seeing a surge of spiritual energy behind him, Lu Tiandu was startled and darted to the left.

Simultaneously, he slapped his chest with his left hand, and the faint golden light that had been covering his body suddenly shone brightly, enveloping him like a golden eggshell.

Just then, a flash of black light swiftly struck the golden eggshell formed by the golden armor.

With a "bang," the gold and black collided, but the black light in the air remained unable to advance, revealing a black hook several feet long.

  "A sneak attack?"

Lu Tiandu sneered at the black hook, which was blocked by the light shield. He raised his right hand, and a flash of green sword light instantly struck the black hook.

The hook was instantly spun by the blow.

The figure in the dark, sensing something was wrong, directed the black hook to flee forward.

Lu Tiandu naturally wouldn't let go of those who plotted against him. He extended his hand, and the Wind Sword suddenly blazed brightly. In a flash, it instantly caught up to the Black Hook and struck it hard, dimming its light considerably.

  "Daoyou, wait!"

an urgent voice rang out from the swirling yellow sand ahead, its voice elderly and filled with a hint of exasperation.

Lu Tiandu paused, the Wind Sword still hovering overhead, staring silently ahead.

Suddenly, an elderly figure emerged from the sand. He was dressed in black, holding a Black Hook with a look of regret on his face.

Glancing at Lu Tiandu, shrouded in the golden light, and the swirling flying sword, greed flashed in his triangular eyes. He rolled his eyes and said,

"I am Qi Lao San of Qijiazhuang. May I know your name?"

  "My last name is Lu,"

  Lu Tiandu replied calmly.

By the time he emerged from the Stone Bead World, he had already returned to his normal self.

The old man, with only the eleventh level of cultivation and a less-than-top-tier magical weapon, instantly seized upon him with murderous intent.

"So it's Fellow Daoist Lu. I presume you're also trapped in this Fierce Wind Formation,"

the man calling himself Qi Lao San explained. "Just now, I thought you were in league with the person who set up the formation, so I made a test move. Please forgive me..."

"Oh, the Fierce Wind Formation? So someone else set it up?"

Lu Tiandu's eyes flickered with a puzzled expression.

"Indeed! My brothers and I have strayed into this formation by mistake. Fellow Daoist Lu, how about joining me in finding them and breaking it together?"

The old man spoke with a look of righteous indignation, urging Lu Tiandu to rise.

"Oh, I wonder how many companions you have? This formation looks difficult to break..." Lu Tiandu asked, then extended his hand, and the cyan sword shadow tucked into his storage bag.

When the old man saw Lu Tiandu put away his flying sword, his smile suddenly became even gentler:

"Don't worry, Fellow Daoist Lu. The person in charge of this formation has been seriously injured by me before. My five brothers should be nearby. If we find them, the seven of us will join forces to break this Tianfeng Kuanglie Formation. Isn't it easy..."

"Oh, in that case... then go to hell!"

Just as the old man in black was getting more and more happy that the young man was so easy to deceive, a silver light flashed in his eyes like lightning. Along with Lu Tiandu's cold voice, the old man's head exploded and his consciousness became blurred.

A headless corpse fell to the ground, splashing dust.

"I don't have the habit of cooperating with people who attack me, so I can only ask you to die!"

Lu Tiandu muttered with a sneer on his face.
