The Beckett family has a long history of researchers. They say they're a "pure blood" family because even before the Dungeon came along, they were already in this field, producing lots of researchers, generation after generation, without fail.
Luka's adoptive parents didn't have any kids of their own. They were so busy that they decided to adopt a child from an orphanage.
Out of all the kids in the orphanage, the Becketts chose Luka to adopt. As if by destiny, their choice was spot on, Luka awoke as an alchemist at a very young age.
They cheered, loving Luka even more than they already did. The love that was once perhaps only 50% is now overflowing, exceeding to another 50%. That love intoxicates Luka, who is thirsty for parental affection and makes him want to give everything for his adoptive parents.
