Knox watched as Kai, Kamari Monaghan and Atlas Carnell walked away, leaving Knox and the others. They had all been friends ever since Kai became a Guide and started doing his research. Atlas was the same age as Kai, while Kamari was six years older than them. They were pretty tight and had a lot to talk about.
"So, are you going to follow Kai, then?" Aurora said something next to Knox, who was still standing there like a rock, hands in his pants pockets. Then Knox turned his head, and their eyes met. Aurora tilted her head slightly to look at him.
Knox said, "He's grown up."
Aurora chuckled and replied, "Since when did you start having that thought? You always worry about him, just like your mom. You just can't let go of him." The woman repeated herself.
