Chapter 1
Transfer
Jay-jay's POV
Haaaaaaaa!!!! It's crazy! I'm nervous and at the same time like I'm pooping. Hehe. Starting today, I'm going to study here at Higher Value International School. The name is cool!
I'm almost to the room that the registrar's office showed me. According to my registration papers, E is the last section of 4th year high school. I went here because my records weren't that good.
I can't blame them, I was also naughty at my previous school.
I continued walking towards the room. The school is really nice, the school grounds are wide and fresh because there are many trees around.
I think I'll like it here. I hope so.
When I got to the classroom, I saw some boys hanging out in front of the door. There were five of them and they were all wearing uniforms improperly. They were a bit scary but they said 'Don't judge the book by its cover'.
I approached them. They both stopped talking and turned to me. They all gave me a nasty look. Okay, it was a bit scary!
"Uhmmm... B-Brothers, is section E here?" Why am I stammering? What's so embarrassing about that!
They looked at each other before turning their gaze back at me. It was like they were scanning me from head to toe. Was there something wrong with my appearance?
"Not here... In that other building," the brown-haired man replied.
"Huh? S-The registrar said, here—"
"They've moved! So get out of here!" the man holding the lollipop shouted.
I got a bit scared from their shouting, so I quickly ran away. Geez! Did they really have to yell at me? If I weren't new here... you'd be in trouble with me.
The bell rang, signaling that class was starting. And here I was, still walking to my classroom. So annoying! I took bigger steps since the other building was still quite far.
It's just weird—the building I came from is at the very end part of the campus and it seems like students don't really go there. The building itself is still decent, but the paint is badly faded, covered in vandalism, and littered with old chairs and broken stuff. It only has two floors with about four or six rooms in total. I'm not even sure if all of them are being used.
It's completely different from the building I'm in now. This one is brand new with fresh, beautiful paint. It has four floors and lots of rooms. Some rooms even have air-conditioning. These rich kids really have it all!!I quickly entered the building to look for the room. I've already been walking for a few minutes but I still can't find it. I'm not blind—I just genuinely can't locate Section E's room.
Until I finally saw a classroom with a sign on the side of the door. It only said "Section" but there was a faded mark that was obviously the letter E.
This must be it!!
I immediately went inside. The students all stopped what they were doing when they saw me. There were around 20+ of them.I looked for the teacher but she wasn't there. So I just walked straight to an empty seat at the back.
Their eyes followed me the whole way.
"There's a transferee?"
"Chicks, pre!"
"We have a new one?"
They whispered among themselves. To be honest, I felt embarrassed—or more accurately, irritated. I didn't want to be talked about and it was obvious that I was the topic. I just bowed down while hugging my bag.
"Hi!" Someone came up and greeted me.
I looked up and saw a girl. A beautiful being... hehehe... Are you an angel?
She's really pretty. She has long hair and fair, glowing skin. She also looked tall—seemingly taller than me.
"H-Hello po... " I greeted. I was feeling really shy.
(Note: "Po" is a Filipino honorific used to show respect to elders or strangers.)
"Don't use po with me, we're probably the same age."
"Ahh... O-Okay."
"Are you new?" she asked while pulling up a chair. She sat right in front of me.
"Y-Ye— Yes, actually. I'm new."
"What's your name?" she asked warmly.
"Jasper Jean Mariano, Jay-jay for short," I replied with a smile.
There! I'm feeling a bit more comfortable.
"I'm Rakki... the Class President." She extended her hand to me, and I shook it.
Her name is so cool! Just like her... hehe.
"Jay, are you sure about the section you're in?" she suddenly asked.
I looked at her in confusion but just nodded.
"Because as far as I know, there really is a transferee, but they're assigned to Section E, not here."
Not here.
Son of... It looks like I'm in the wrong section. Shit!
"Uhmm... W-What section is this?" I whispered to Rakki.
The entire class was staring at us. It would be so embarrassing if they heard that I walked into the wrong section.
How freaking embarrassing!!
Rakki leaned closer to me and whispered, "Section C."
Shit!! It really is wrong!! Damn it!!
I slowly stood up and walked toward the door, keeping my head down.
Please don't look at me... please...
I was almost at the door when Rakki suddenly blocked my way.
"Where are you going? Ma'am is about to arrive."
Even though I didn't want to, I took a deep breath and looked her straight in the eyes.
"Rakki..." I started. "...I-I entered the wrong section."
"Pffftt... I knew it!!" She burst out laughing. Her classmates started laughing along with her.
Damn it!! Earth, please open up and swallow them whole!!
I slowly walked out of the room. Even after I had walked some distance away, I could still hear them laughing.
So embarrassing! Extremely! So annoying!
I quickly ran back to the Section E building—the real Section E!
Those guys better be ready for me! This is all their fault. If they hadn't pointed me toward that building, I wouldn't have ended up in the wrong section.
So irritating! The whole Section C will remember this for the rest of their lives!
I reached the room and entered with my eyebrows furrowed. But that turned out to be… a Wrong Move!!
There was already a teacher giving a lesson; he stopped and looked at me. Uh oh!
"Yes?" he asked me.
I composed myself. I immediately pulled out my registration papers and—wait! I need to make sure!
"I-Is this Section E, po?" I asked bravely.
The teacher nodded and looked at me. I immediately handed over my registration paper.
"Ahh… So you're the transfer student. I've been waiting for you." He immediately pulled me and positioned me beside him in front. "..I'm Mr. Alvin Siongco, by the way."
I smiled at him and he signaled me to introduce myself to the whole class.
I immediately noticed the guys I talked to earlier. These jerks! What they did to me was really awful.
I gave them a sharp, angry glare so they could feel how furious I was. But these idiots just snickered—except for the guy with the lollipop earlier.
"Class! Silent please..." Sir turned to me again. "...Okay, introduce yourself."
I took a deep breath. "My name is Jasper Jean Mariano you can call me Jay-Jay. I'm from Holy Saints high school."
The whole class just stared at me. Most of them gave me nothing but bored looks. Except, once again, for the guy with the lollipop from earlier—the idiot just had a total poker face.
"Class president... do you have anything to ask?" Sir Alvin asked.
No one answered. It looked like their class president was absent. What a great role model, skipping class?
"Class President..." Sir Alvin's tone changed a bit. He shot a serious look toward the group of guys I had talked to earlier.
"Tss.." said the one with the lollipop. He stood up and looked at me with a bored expression.
Wait! He's the class president? No way!
"Question..." Sir Alvin's voice sounded like he was ordering.
He sighed first. "Are you still a virgin?"
My eyes widened at what he said, while the entire class burst out laughing.
"Keifer!" Sir Alvin shouted angrily.
He grinned. "You said question.. That's a question."
So disrespectful! He's even answering back to the teacher! Arrogant!
I glared at him. "Sir Alvin is referring to a decent question. (in english)"
There! I actually spoke English! I hope my brain power lasts me the rest of the day.
The whole class instantly went, "Ooohhhhh!" Their Class President, whom Sir called Keifer, furrowed his eyebrows.
"You want a decent question? Okay... When are you leaving our section?"
The whole class went 'ooohhhhh' again.
To be honest, I'm annoyed by what they're doing and I'm even more annoyed by this Keifer! He's so arrogant! What's up?! Because he has a position where he should be arrogant?
"You? When will you disappear from the world?" I answered him bluntly while folding my arms.
The class's 'ooohhhhh' grew louder. I even heard Sir Alvin react.
"Why don't you go first?" he replied to me and grinned.
"Because I'm the one who'll make you disappear in this world."
"Like you can..."
"Yes i can..." I said with a matter-of-fact tone.
"Okay... Okay.. Both of you need to stop. Keifer sit down and Miss Mariano you can choose any seat that you want," said Sir Alvin.
That's great! I'm not finished with him yet. He looked at me badly but I turned my attention back to finding a seat. You're after me!
That's not a problem, because there are many vacancies. Most of the vacancies are in the middle.
Their tables and chairs are like in Japan, even the old ones. There are more than 20 pairs of tables and chairs here. But most of the students are in the back and sides. They look like the letter U. Only the middle has no one sitting. So I just took a seat there. I still feel like a loner in my current position.
What's even more surprising about this class besides their sitting arrangement. There were only about 15 or 16 students here and the other... I haven't seen a girl yet.
