Chapter 1 - The Flames Of Destiny

Chapter 1: The Flames of Destiny

The Slums of Blackthorn

The air in Blackthorn's slums was thick with smoke, the scent of burning wood and rotting food mixing into a stifling miasma. The city's underbelly was harsh, a place where only the strong survived and the weak were trampled underfoot. It was a place of violence, hunger, and broken dreams—but also of unyielding willpower.

And in the heart of this forsaken district, a boy with striking blue eyes and golden hair sat on a rooftop, gazing at the vast sky above.

Ashton Valeria Pendragon.

A name he did not yet understand. A heritage he did not yet know.

To him, he was just Ashton, an orphan scraping by in the slums, living on stolen bread and the scraps left behind by the rich. Yet, despite the hardships, there was something inside him—a fire that refused to die.

A Rivalry Born in the Dark

"Yo, Ashton."

A voice, cool and confident, called from below.

Standing in the dimly lit alleyway was another boy—Jason Solaris. He had jet-black hair, piercing golden eyes, and an aura of quiet determination. Unlike most in the slums, Jason carried himself like a warrior, even though he, too, was just another orphan left to rot in the underworld of Blackthorn.

"You look like you're thinking too much again," Jason remarked, a faint smirk on his lips. "Worried about something?"

Ashton scoffed, his blue eyes narrowing. "I don't have time to sit around and worry. I've got to get stronger."

Jason crossed his arms. "That so? Then let's put that to the test. Show me how much stronger you've gotten."

Ashton grinned. "Tch. You always wanna fight."

Jason cracked his knuckles. "You say that like you don't enjoy it."

The Clash of Young Titans

Without another word, Jason moved. Fast.

His golden Aura flared to life around his body, wrapping his arms in a shimmering glow as he lunged forward, delivering a precise palm strike aimed at Ashton's ribs.

Ashton barely had time to react, twisting his body to the side as he felt the air tremble from Jason's attack.

Boom!

The wall behind him cracked from the sheer force of Jason's missed blow.

"Tch," Ashton clicked his tongue. "Damn, you're getting fast."

Jason smirked. "And you're getting slow."

Without hesitation, Ashton retaliated. Blue Aura erupted from his body—wild, unstable, yet powerful. He swung his fist at Jason, but his control was lacking; his Aura flickered like unstable flames, making his movements reckless.

Jason dodged, but even he felt the heat. Ashton's Aura burned.

Black and blue flames. Faint, unstable—but they carried an eerie quality, an unnatural, eternal heat.

Jason's eyes narrowed. "Your flames… they're different."

Ashton didn't respond. He just smirked and pressed forward.

Their fists collided. Gold met Blue. Two warriors in the making.

For a brief moment, the slums of Blackthorn had two suns shining in its darkness.

And this was only the beginning.
