"Kid, I actually don't have any pressing business here. I just want to invite you to join Jindu Academy. I happen to be the headmaster, and the academy needs talented students like you."

Gabriel looked at Roland in surprise. He hadn't expected to be recruited by a headmaster so soon. Was this because they had noticed his potential?
"Don't rush into a decision, Gabriel. Choosing an academy is an important matter. Each academy offers different resources. To be frank, with your skills, you could easily be accepted into an academy better than Jindu Academy. It's not your only option."
"Do you always have to make things difficult for this old man? It's hard enough to find talented students, so why are you interfering? Do you think making me angry benefits you?"
Roland finally dropped his kindly facade and started berating Phoebe in frustration.
Phoebe casually dug his pinky into his ear, looking at Roland with indifference.
"But it's the truth. Jindu Academy isn't exactly a top-tier institution. With Gabriel's talent, he could get into a much better academy. And given my relationship with this kid, I have to be honest with him."
By this point, Gabriel had calmed down, his initial excitement fading into thoughtful contemplation. Choosing an academy was indeed an important decision. He had studied the various academies across the country and knew that Kyoto Academy and Modu Academy were considered the top-tier institutions. However, they only accepted the best trainers from each region. Winning this competition might be his only ticket into one of those schools.
Of course, Kyoto and Modu Academies had a rich history, boasting the most advanced training methods and knowledge accumulation. The current Four Elite Trainers all hailed from these two academies.
Compared to those elite institutions, Jindu Academy seemed much less impressive. However, it was still a national-level academy that had produced many Gym Leaders and even a few Elite Trainers in the past. Joining Jindu Academy wouldn't be a bad choice either.
Since the decision was in his hands, he might as well see what benefits Jindu Academy had to offer.
"Aunt Phoebe, given my current performance, what kind of academies do you think I could get into?"
Gabriel blinked his big, innocent eyes at Phoebe, his handsome face radiating pure curiosity.

Hearing Pheobe's words, Roland sighed in defeat.
"Alright, fine! I give up! Kid, if you join Jindu Academy, I'll arrange for you to receive a rare Pokémon, along with exclusive training resources. What do you say?"
A rare Pokémon? Could it really be a special Pokémon?

A smartphone-integrated Rotom? Was that even possible?
Rotom was originally a plasma-based Pokémon capable of traveling through electrical currents as ions.
It could infiltrate different appliances and transform into unique forms—Microwave Rotom, Wash Rotom, Frost Rotom, Fan Rotom, and Mow Rotom—most likely due to the specialized motors in these devices.
With special methods, it might indeed be possible to have Rotom attach itself to a smartphone.
In the anime, Rotom had been shown merging with various gadgets, creating unique devices to aid the protagonist on their journey. The Rotom Pokédex, Rotom Phone, Rotomi, Drone Rotom, and Rotom Bike were all examples of Rotom taking over a Pokédex, smartphone, PC, drone, and bicycle motor. These devices not only retained their original functions but also gained additional special features.
Phoebe looked at Roland in surprise.
"Your academy is still working on that project? I thought Jindu Academy was short on funds because of it and had already abandoned the idea."
Roland grinned proudly.
"Of course not! The Rotom research project has been a long-term goal for Jindu Academy. The latest development is this Rotom Phone."
As he spoke, Roland pulled out a smartphone from his pocket. The device miraculously floated in midair, revealing Rotom's mischievous face on the screen.
"This is the Rotom Phone. As an Electric- and Ghost-type Pokémon, Rotom can merge with various electronic devices to gain specialized abilities. Jindu Academy saw its potential and has been committed to developing a more advanced Rotom. The Rotom Phone is our latest achievement."
Under Roland's command, the Rotom Phone floated in front of Dratini, scanning it with a blue light. Moments later, detailed information about Dratini's body appeared on the screen.
"The greatest advantage of the Rotom Phone is its ability to store vast amounts of data. By scanning Pokémon, it can analyze their physical condition and suggest the most optimal training methods, greatly easing the burden on trainers."
A Rotom Phone! Gabriel wanted one so badly!
"If I join, will I get one?"
"Of course! If you enroll in Jindu Academy, you'll receive a Rotom Phone."
"And if I win the championship first and then decide to join? What extra rewards would I get?"
"Championship? That's unlikely… Pat is incredibly strong."
Roland hesitated, doubting Gabriel's ability to defeat Pat.
"What if I do defeat him?"
"If you win the championship, not only will you receive a Rotom Phone, but I'll also grant Rotom access to all the academy's resources and promise to fulfill one request of your choosing. How about that?"
"Alright, it's a deal! If I join Jindu Academy as the champion, you'll grant me one request."
"But first, you'll have to defeat Pat. He's not an easy opponent."
