They had parted ways just as the clouds begun to form.
It turned out to be a good decision.
The moment Aurora stepped through her front door, the sky began to pour down rain and it lashed against the windows.
Looking out the glass window, her thoughts were filled with images of Felix.
They had exchanged numbers. Before parting he had asked her if she was down for a real date later that week.
Naturally, she had said yes.
At the moment, she honestly wished she could just jump into the future and go for that date already.
Ahhh!!
At the slight thought of him she couldn't help but just smile.
Although she didn't know why she suddenly had an interest in this guy, since her heart was okay with it, she was going to allow things flow.
…
Out in the misty rain, a pair of dark, calculating eyes stared across the street over at Aurora's house.
With a slight smirk playing on his face he muttered underneath his breath "not bad"
Turning to his personal assistant, his voice dropped ivy cold "Martin, arrange for the "Hawk's" to watch over this place. And keep an eye on the woman's movements."
Martin although curious as to who the woman was, and her importance to the boss new better than to ask questions.
He simply bowed his head. "Understood, sir." With that, he slipped away into the rain to execute the order.
...
"Giirrll!"
Aurora winced, pulling the phone away from her ear as Candace's voice practically exploded through the speaker.
"Calm down, before you ruin my phone's speaker," Aurora laughed, sitting on her bed.
Candace fumed at the other end.
"No you don't tell me not to yell!"
"You ditched me at the event, knowing fully well I barely knew anyone there besides you. I'm so mad!"
" Ohh my darling, I'm so sorry"
But you know I obviously won't do that to unless...," Aurora trailed of clearly hinting at something.
"Excuses, excuses, ex-" Candace blurted out on the phone before finally sinking in what Aurora had just said.
"My oh my, Aurora!" She laughed
"Aurora"
"Fill me in! She squealed. Excited.
But she was met with absolute silence.
"Aurora, no you don't get to keep silent on me after dropping a bombshell!"
"Aurora"
"Aurora!", she yelled.
Finally, Aurora giggled
" I'm not telling you nothing cus it's a secret" she sang out playfully.
After which she cut the call.
She opened her messaging app to text Candace but was abruptly interrupted by an incoming call from her assistant.
"Amaya?"
"Miss King, the board meeting is scheduled for tomorrow morning and you definitely need to be present"
"You know I took a leave of abscence for this week, Amaya, so move it to next week"
"Ma'am..."
She cut Amaya off before she could complete her sentence.
"There's no room for negotiation here, it's settled", Aurora calmly yet firmly said.
Beep..
After cutting the call, she went on to text Candace.
Aurora: Come over tomorrow I really need your fashion eyes, and yes I will tell you all about it too"
Candace replied almost immediately.
Candace: Ugh, I hate you, how I'm I to sleep tonight now!!?
Aurora laughed out heartily imagining the look of agonizing curiosity on her friend's face.
Tired, she threw her phone onto the nightstand, freshened up and went to bed a smile on her face.
