Long ago the power gap between the devil, and the imp demon were slowly closing. The devil had to think fast so he could end the fight before it was too late.
Maestro, and Sylvester began to walk away from Razor's cave. Maestro waved goodbye at Razor as they continued walking. Razor waves back then turns around, heading into his cave. He thinks to himself how Maestro, and Rex was both able to pass the ring of fire. He wondered if he could as well. Or maybe those two are just special. He pondered in his thoughts as he disappeared in the shadows of the cave.
Moments later as the two were walking, Sylvester complained about having to come all this way just to not finish what they started. Maestro replied that they did in fact do so. He explained that he wanted Sylvester to bring him to hell, which he did. Also stating that Sylvester wanted payment for the elevator ride. Which he decided was knowing Maestro's story. Something that he now knows. There was no reason for them to jump into anything else. Sylvester grunted in annoyance then stated that they took the easy route by giving up. He feels incomplete not seeing Maestro's full potential. Maestro chuckled while agreeing. However, he states that he actually cares about his life this time, and wants to make better decisions.
The smile on his face bothered Sylvester. After being lost for so long, Maestro walks confidently as he now knows what he wants out of his life. Unfortunately, the devil was unpleased to hear Maestro's resolve. Maestro started to receive a painful headache as the devil yelled at him. Asking what was funny about being weak. That true happiness comes from eternal strength. Maestro falls to his knees as Sylvester watches. The devil continues his rant stating how Maestro has always suffered due to him never having the power to take charge. That the devil bones could give him that power.
Sylvester starts to laugh as he watched. He states that he knew the devil wouldn't let him leave so easily. Sylvester was about to continue, but was surprised to see Maestro slowly standing up. Fighting through the pain, he tells him that he doesn't care about what the devil wants. That he is no longer in control of his actions. Sylvester failed to take Maestro seriously. He responded in disbelief stating that he doubt he could fight off the devil's influence. Maestro replied that he had no choice. The devil laughs, accepting Maestro's challenge. His laugh fades away along with the headache. After taking a deep breath, the two was about to continue their walk. However, the ground had suddenly started to shake.
Both Maestro, and Sylvester was confused. Although, shortly after Maestro had remembered this feeling. He asked if something was coming from the ground. Sylvester shook his head then pointed outwards towards the rock structure ahead. He states that the problem is right in front of them. Maestro looked to where he was pointing, and was shocked by what he saw. A skeletal hand covered in flames grabbing on to the edge of the rock structure. It pulls itself upwards rising tall, and roaring loudly. The two was now facing a fire golem that was ready to attack.
Sylvester looked at the golem in wonder. Stating that he's never seen a fire golem in person before. He then remembers that he wasn't in purgatory long enough to witness one. Maestro claimed that he fought one, and almost died. Although, that was thirteen years ago. Sylvester thought to himself, knowing that it takes around fifty years for a golem to respawn. Maestro also stated that it was that day he had met the chaos demon. A haunting image of Rex appeared in Maestro's mind before he shook the thought off. He looks at the fire golem with anger, and confidence. Stating that he doesn't need Rex's help anymore. Sylvester agreed, then stopped once he realized what he heard. He was shocked that Rex of all demons would help anyone.
Maestro wasn't listening, he was too focused on the golem. He dashed off sprinting towards the fire golem at high speeds. As he got closer, the golem tried to stomp him, but it had missed. Maestro was moving too fast with no intentions of stopping. While running in circles around the fire golem, Maestro started generating flames from his left hand. He formed the flames into a fire whip. After latching on the whip to the golem's leg, Maestro kept running. Attempting to tie up the fire golem. However, the flames from the whip was absorbed. It had fused with the flames from the golem's legs. Rendering Maestro's tactic useless. The golem swooped down it's hand smacking Maestro with fiery force. The attack sent Maestro flying across the air, crashing into the nearby rock structure. Sylvester runs over to the dust cloud to check up on Maestro. As the smoke fades away, Maestro slowly gets up, and shakes off the pain. Sylvester then approached him stating that he was doing a great job in a sarcastic tone. He also states that he's fighting fire with fire, and needed a different approach. Maestro looked over to the golem as it roared. He cracked his knuckles while stating that he could do that.
