Shou, Kaori & Mayu: Surprise!!!!
Yuki: Huh? Wait, why are you guys here at the time of your classes?
Intriguingly, Shou, Kaori, and Mayu stood within the hangar's embrace, an enigmatic scene unfolding before me. A meticulously wrapped gift, adorned in hues of gentle pink and sunny yellow, rested before them. My curiosity was piqued as I noticed a delicate note intertwined with their cryptic intentions, bearing the simple yet warm words, "Welcome Back." Their smiles, though silent, spoke volumes as they handed me the elegantly adorned box, encouraging me to unveil its contents. Oblivious to the lingering question in the air, I surrendered to my excitement, deftly unwrapping the package, anticipation dancing in my eyes, only to reveal....
Yuki: Is this what I think it is?
Valerie: Seems like it.
Yuki: My core!
In a world of disbelief, there it stood – my core, returned to me against all odds. Restored and resplendent, it now bore golden enhancements, a testament to its renewed potency and a mesmerizing sight to behold.
Yuki: But how didn't I destroyed it?
Mayu: I knew you never meant to do that. With Kaito's help, we figured out how to fix your core. He worked hard, even getting sick a few times, but he finished it three days before you came back. For more info, you can talk to your Uncle.
Kaori: Who would have thought you would seriously break your core? Were you out of mind even thinking a little bit about the team? You are our centre piece and we can't manage to lose you.
Shou: Broseph, that was a pretty bad move. Why didn't you ever ask me about it?
Yuki: I want to sincerely apologize to everyone for the trouble I've caused. On a different note, I was wondering if we could possibly test out the new core in a practice match. I'm genuinely curious and eager to see how the enhancements have panned out. There mig....
Valerie swiftly grabbed the core from my hands, examining it closely before carrying it away.
Yuki: Heyy!
Valerie: Before it's battle-ready, there are a few tweaks I need to make. Some components aren't fully aligned with Eagle yet, and using it now could lead to malfunctions. (Her voice carried a note of caution)
After saying that, she walked into the lab with a determined stride.
Yuki: That was a handful.
Mayu: We can't do anything for now.Lets....
A notification chimed on everyone's phone, sparking curiosity. The timestamp read 2:45 pm. The message revealed, "Class rescheduled to 3:00 pm due to unforeseen circumstances. Apologies for any inconvenience. Adam Smith's class will be held earlier. Kindly ensure timely attendance."
Yuki: Well...
Shou: Everything else can be done later. I will catch you later Broseph!
After that, Shou dashed off to his classes, and Kaori swiftly followed suit. As for Mayu, her schedule was clear, so she headed back to her apartment. However, before parting ways, she arranged to meet me at the gate by 6 pm. I agreed and made my way to class, though not before our customary kiss left a warm blush on my cheeks. Aware of curious onlookers, I couldn't help but feel a bit self-conscious. Mayu had already departed, perhaps feeling a tad bashful herself. Still, her affectionate gesture added a touch of radiance to my day. Settling into my seat, I organized my notebooks and patiently awaited the teacher's arrival. In the interim, Mahiru made her entrance, yet Sakura was nowhere to be seen.
Yuki: Hey wasn't Sakura all along with you?
Mahiru: yea she was but she had to be somewhere.
Yuki: Okay I won't enquire more about this.
And that was a big mistake I made at that moment. The class proceeded smoothly and eventually concluded, but Sakura was conspicuously absent. A sense of worry crept over me as I began to wonder about her whereabouts. What puzzled me, even more, was Mahiru's demeanour – she seemed to carry a knowing look as if she was aware of something I wasn't. In the midst of these thoughts, a realization settled in There's an ongoing situation occurring right now, of which I am completely unaware.
Yuki: Hey if you find Sakura give me a message in line. I feel she might be in a bit of trouble. Here take my Line ID.
We shared contact info, but she rushed off as if in a hurry. I hoped it wasn't a big issue. At 6 pm, I met Mayu by the gate. Moments later, we reached my bike in the parking lot, and I gave her a ride to her place...
Mayu: Will you be coming tonight?♡
Yuki: I don't know if I get the time sure but I won't be able to stay like last time.
Mayu: Then why don't we meet here at 8 pm?
Yuki: Near the Academy?
Mayu: I actually forgot something in the Lab and need to get it before tomorrow.
Yuki: What is it though?
Mayu: That's a Secret. (,,>﹏<,,)
Yuki: Okay I am gonna pick you up at 7:45 pm. We can enter the Academy by the back fence. There are no barbed wires so we can get inside and return safely.
Mayu readily agreed, and after a brief, heartfelt hug, I made my way back home. The scenery near the bridge was breathtaking, reminiscent of the day I once drove with Yunna. Moments later, I reached my front door, only to realize that Uncle Kaito was absent. Nikki, my sister, was in her room, but an unfamiliar male voice caught my attention. Puzzled, I knocked at the door, awaiting a response.
Yuki: Hey Nikki could you open the door?
Nikki: Leave us alone! Jeez
Yuki: I know that "Ken" is inside.
I knocked, and the door slowly opened, revealing Nikki. Inside, Ken was seated in a chair, surrounded by notebooks and books on the bed, just like that day. I hope I didn't misunderstood the scene again.
Yuki: So Nikki.Mind explaining the occasion at this time?
Nikki: It's none of your business. He was just tutoring me.
Although I had given my approval for Ken to date Nikki, it seemed that things had progressed much more rapidly than I had anticipated, skipping over several important stages in their relationship.
Yuki: Okay but the doors will stay open.
Nikki: What's the pr...
Yuki: Doors open you heard me, Ken, whatever?
Ken: Yes (In a scared voice)
Nikki: Fine! If it will satisfy you.
Yuki: Yea ok. Anyway, Where is Uncle Kaito?
Nikki: Just go to the garage. He is waiting there.
I hurried downstairs to the garage, spotting Uncle Kaito engrossed in cleaning his car. His face brightened at the sight of me. We had a conversation about my first day as a third-year student, sharing every detail except the parts I wasn't supposed to reveal.
Kaito: So how is Eagle now? With the advanced core, I mean.
Yuki: I haven't even had a chance to test it yet. As soon as Valerie caught sight of it, she whisked it away, insisting on making some tweaks before we can put it through real tests.
Kaito: Hmm. But I already tweaked it before and I think it was ready to be tested.
Yuki: Cant disagree with our engineer.
He nodded in agreement. After talking a while about other stuff I was ready to head upstairs...
Kaito: Hey kiddo, listen up! We're heading to the Auditorium this Sunday. Get all set and be ready to roll at 7 am. If your friends want in, tell them they're invited too!
Yuki: Sure Uncle, I will let you know about it soon. ( ' ‿ ' )
I looked at the time. The clock was flashing at 7:15 pm. Okay, 30 minutes left I should get a snack in the convenience store.
I rode my bike and snacked on wafers along the way – a quick treat. My stomach grumbled for more, but I knew I can't be late for Mayu. Soon, I reached her apartment. She wasn't there yet. I called her but got no answer. I wondered if she was asleep after her tiring day. Curiosity got the best of me, and I entered her apartment without knocking. Mayu was on the sofa, picking out clothes. The issue? She was dressed quite scantily. I quickly shut the door, realizing my mistake.
Yuki: (what's been going on all this day. It's either full of curses or too much luck.)
A few minutes passed, and Mayu stepped outside. It was clear she knew I had caught her in that awkward moment. Her face turned red, just like always. I tried saying sorry, but it didn't seem to work. She kept looking away, avoiding my gaze. Well, I had a plan to break the tension.
Yuki: Okay Mayu I am heading to Shou's place if you keep doing that.
Mayu: Shut up! It's your fault, to begin with. Why can't you knock?
Yuki: How would I know? I called you, but you didn't answer, and I started getting worried.
As the words escaped my lips, a faint blush graced Mayu's cheeks. However, any lingering awkwardness was promptly swept away by the warmth of her laughter, a heartening sound that resonated within the shared space between us.
Mayu: Okay I forgive you then. But it doesn't mean you are free from the questions.. ( ,,ˆᗜˆ,, )
I was relieved that things had taken a happy turn. However, I was still under her playful influence. We made our way to the back of the academy, where the barbed wire had been cut open. Surprisingly, Mayu seemed to be enjoying the journey, showing no signs of fear. Once we reached a safe spot, I parked the bike a short distance away and we approached the gap in the barbed wire.
Yuki: Hmm, this is a little bit high. I can boost you up there. Can you jump to the other side?
Mayu: I can try it.. ( >﹏<.)
Mayu was a bit scared, but I boosted her up and she gave me a thumbs-up before jumping to the other side. I pushed myself as hard as I could and made it across, but I noticed a slight scratch near Mayu's left leg when we got to the other side.
Yuki:Wait,you are hurt Mayu.
She brushed it off saying it was nothing but still I applied a bandage to it. Thank god I thought of buying one. :)
Yuki: So we need to go that side I think.
I pointed to the building on the left, and we set off. I felt like a spy in a movie, sneaking into someone's base to steal something. Mayu had been here before, but this was my first time. Maybe that's because I never took pharmacy as a subject. Mayu led me to the lab, which was on the second floor in the corner. I tried opening the door, but it was locked. Time to use my skills...
Mayu: This won't come off that easy you know??
Maybe not strength, but brains, I suppose. Mayu told me about the window on the other side of the lab. The only problem was that we needed to get around to the third floor to get inside, and then one of us could open the door. Wait, why did I say one of us? Of course, it would be me. I couldn't put Mayu in a situation like that. As I was about to leave....
Mayu: Wait there must be another way in, why are you being reckless? What will happen if you slipped?
Yuki: Just relax. It's not enough to kill me.
Mayu: Seriously stop with those rec....
I hugged her tightly, knowing there was no way she was going to agree to my plan. I needed to calm her down quickly, so I spoke to her in a soothing voice. A few moments later, her breathing began to slow down. Her eyes were full of tears. A few moments later after we separated, she came up with a plan. There was a fire extinguisher pipe that was long enough to be used as a rope. I remembered this scene from a K-drama where students evacuate to another floor using it. Perhaps it was "Most of us are alive".
Mayu: Here tie this around your waist. This might be a bit safer.
Now I am ready to do it. I opened the 3rd-floor window and carefully went alongside the wall. But in the end, there was a small gap between this platform and that lab's window.
Mayu: How is it there?
Yuki: It's nothing bad. I just need to jump from here to a little ahead.
Mayu: That's a reckless action. come back, I will find ano...
Before she could say anything, I jumped. I was in the air, feeling like I was flying. But then I realized I wasn't going to make it to the window. I crashed into the wall with a sickening thud, and I was about to fall. Luckily, I managed to grab onto the window's edge. I held my breath as I slowly pulled myself up. My heart was pounding, and I was sure Mayu had heard the noise of my crash. But when I finally reached the window, I saw that she was standing there, crying. I quickly opened the window and let myself in. She threw her arms around me, and I hugged her tightly. I knew she must have been terrified when she heard me crash into the wall. But we were both safe now, and that was all that mattered.
Mayu: You are an Idiot. Why are you this reckless? What if you had been....
Yuki: Then it would be your time to move on. Am I right?..aou!!
She hit me in the stomach. Well, that was a bad time to joke.
Yuki: I am just kidding that was a joke.
Mayu: Dummy! Don't ever do that again. ( ╥﹏╥ )
Yuki: Okay sure!
We untangled ourselves and searched for the thing Mayu's been telling me about. But how in the world would I know if she can't even tell me what is that thing? In the end, Mayu returned...
Mayu: Okay, we can go now. ( ' ‿ ' )
She found it already? Now I was curious. Okay, here goes nothing, I tickled her until she showed me what she had been looking for...
Mayu: Okay Okay stop now....HAHAHAHA..Here it is..HAHA..
A pen drive? Mayu was lying on the floor, out of breath. But why had she hidden this pen drive from me? I was curious now. I looked for the nearest laptop and plugged it in.
Mayu: Wait I never said you can look into it.
Mayu came running to snatch it but I held her off with one hand and continued my so-called "Research".
Hmm, now that I see there are some pictures of me. I scrolled down a little. Wait, the heck is this? A picture of me while I was asleep in her room, an image of me with Valerie and another with Yuuna. The more I scrolled, the images became much more suspicious. At the end was a text file. I opened it to find....
Mayu: Wait anything but not that. Please Yuki, not that.Close it.... (,,>﹏<,,)
Yuki: Top 10 things I find good about Yuki.....
Mayu: Don't read that..
As I continued reading, I realized that the content was all about me. What caught me off guard was a massive 70-line paragraph titled "Yuki is a Cheater." Feeling a mix of embarrassment and frustration, I abruptly shut down the laptop, unplugged the pendrive, and returned it to her.
My mind was a jumble of thoughts from what I had just seen. My face turned bright red, and I noticed Mayu's face mirrored the same embarrassment. I couldn't help but wonder if she had been secretly keeping tabs on me to gather those pictures and compile that text file. It left me questioning whether this was an example of being overly protective.
Mayu: Wait Yuki I can explain all that.
Yuki: I don't need to explain too much. I get that you're curious at times, but you shouldn't spy on me like that. And about that text file, it's kinda nice that you put effort into writing those things, even though some lines were a bit harsh. But, you know, it doesn't change the fact that I still love you.♡
I was already aware that Mayu had a yandere side to her, and that was just a part of who she was. Yet, surprisingly, I didn't find myself disliking it. I closed the window, ready to move on, but then an unfamiliar chemical dropped onto my head. I got completely soaked, but within seconds, it all disappeared. It felt like magic, in a way.
Mayu: Anything that matters?
Yuki: No it's nothing, let's get out before anyone finds out
Leaving the door unlocked made me worry about the consequences if anyone discovered it. Yet, a nagging thought lingered about the mysterious chemical that had fallen. What could it be? I hoped it wasn't anything serious. Returning to our starting point, we found the wall wasn't as tall this time. A small box caught my eye – the same one Mayu and I had used to leap across. Starting the bike, I hurriedly left the scene and headed back to her apartment, hoping we hadn't been seen to avoid trouble. Little did I know, this day would become a pivotal moment that reshaped my life.
Think back to when Sakura didn't show up, and Mahiru left abruptly. Interestingly, that incident seems to be intertwined with what unfolded today. There might be more to the story than we initially thought.
On the Way...
Yuki: Phew! It ended well.
Mayu: Thanks for being there, Yuki. I honestly don't know what I would've done without your assistance. You might have gone a bit too far, but I'm just glad you're okay.
Yuki: Your presence brings me a sense of security, and every single day that I get to be with you is a treasure trove of wonder, amazement, and sheer beauty.
Mayu: Enough with your compliments. Let's just enjoy the ride..
Yeah, I'm aware you probably saw this coming – Mayu blushing and all that jazz. But honestly, who can blame her? After all, she's head over heels for Yuki and is just relieved he's okay. It's all quite natural, isn't it? Oh, and sorry for the little interruption. Feel free to dive back into the story and enjoy it! ( ' ‿ ' )
We arrived at her apartment.
Yuki: Well Mayu, I am gonna see you tomorrow then.
Mayu: Wait can we take a little walk before you go?♡
I agreed eagerly. The park, a short walk from her apartment, was quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect place to end the day or take our relationship further.
Yuki: so Mayu how are your studies going?
Mayu: They are perfect since you taught me the basics already. I am already at the top of the class.
Yuki: Congrats! Just don't become too famous or other guys might fall for you..♡
Mayu: I already have a straight answer for them.♡
She closed her eyes, a clear signal for me to lean in for a kiss. But out of nowhere, the rain began to pour, leaving us no choice but to seek refuge at a nearby bus stop. Talk about bad timing! It felt like the perfect moment slipped through our fingers.
Yuki: What a time to waste the mood.
Mayu: We can still do it...♡
I took a deep breath, determined to finally make my move. This time, I was going to do it, no doubt. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Just as I was about to lean in, my senses alerted me to something being hurled towards Mayu. In an instant, I felt a surge of strength and my vision sharpened. Thanks to these newfound abilities, I was confident I could protect Mayu.
Swiftly, I turned her away, shielding her from whatever was coming. When I looked, there were four knives, narrowly missing us. I managed to save her from harm, but there was one thing I couldn't prevent. The last thing I remember was everything turning red...
To Be Continued!!
Hope it was better than before. :)
Bonus:-
At Yuuna's house, on a call with Valerie
Yuuna: "Hey Valerie, do you think we could have a sleepover at my place? I've been feeling a bit lonely with my parents being overseas."
Valerie: Sure I am gonna head there with snacks and my notebook.
Yuuna: Why the notebook?I dont want to study now.
Valerie: Dont you wanna impress someone? Wink* (*^ ‿ <*)
Yuuna:There is nothing like that with Tomoya.
Valerie:But i never mentioned him.
Yuuna:Wait that wasnt what i...
Valerie:Okay lets be serious i wont tease you. But if you're aiming to make an impression, you might want to consider working on your grades. I've noticed they've been slipping lately, and I think it's because Yuudai's situation has been weighing you down emotionally. Just my two cents!
Yuuna:If you say so.....Hmm okay so when are coming over?
Valerie:Just 5 more minutes!
Yuuna:Okay i am gonna revise till you arrive.
Valerie:Much Better.
That's a story for later, talking about what happened later and what they talked about...
