Rose was in the middle of choosing life or death. She wanted to commit suicide after all she had been through: betrayal, rejection, hatred, and so on. It was on a Saturday noon when Rose finally came back. Her mom stood up and said, "Rose, you are no longer a part of this family because you do not carry our blood." I was so shocked when I received the news, and all the family members were looking very serious. Then her mom signaled for her to sit down, and they started talking.
Rose remembered the day we all went to the hospital. Rose remembered it clearly when she had to go to the hospital because they wanted to do a blood test on each child. Rose then answered, "Yes, Mom, I know." Then came the news that she was not our daughter and that we had been taking care of someone else's child. It felt like the end for Rose. No wonder every family member was looking so serious during the meeting. Her elder sister then said, "At last, the truth has finally come out. I won't have to deal with someone like you again." Rose then asked, "The truth?" Her elder sister Nora then said, "Yes, the truth."
Their mom said, "Nora, shut your filthy mouth," but Nora, being a stubborn child, ignored her and continued, "You brat, you were never her child in the first place. Mom just found you on a wretched floor. I vividly remember 17 years ago, because of your beauty, Mum took you in and cared for you. But the moment you entered our house, you brought bad luck. Dad lost his job. Mum never cared for her real daughter, and that was me. She only cared for you. But now everyone knows the truth. You are a monster."
I didn't know what got over me, but the moment I heard those words, "You're a monster," I felt anger burn inside me. Nora's skirt started to burn, and all my family members ran to get water and poured it on her. Nora's mom then said, "You witch! Do you want to kill her?" Then her dad said, "Enough is enough."
Rose couldn't say anything because Nora's mom and dad had already cast a spell on her to prevent her from speaking. Immediately, all the family members gasped and started saying, "She's a witch! A witch!" Then they gave me a huge sum of money in a check and sent me away, telling me to have nothing to do with them again. Rose remembered those hateful looks and stares, but what kept her going was revenge. She was going to make sure the Smiths went through hell, and that was her revenge.
All that they said about her was a lie to get rid of her because all the family members loved her so much that they wouldn't want her to go. Nora, Nora's mom, and dad were all witches—black witches who always killed people for sacrifice. Rose was on a mountain, recalling all those painful old memories, but she said to herself that she would start a new life.
