Chapter 1 - 1

I still felt the guilt in my heart; it was eating me so slowly that it became hard to breathe.

The nightmares don't stop on a single night, never do I get a breather; it's a cycle over and over.

I cursed the gods and every other god that exists.

Yet it was my fault, I tried to blame somthing which fueled my anger, hate, and vengeance.

My home was raided, where I saw both my parents murdered, in front of everyone, executed.

Bearing the searing hatred, I did what I could and fought, wars, bloodshed, killing anything that came my way.

Ivar the Berserker.

The world feared me as I killed those who murdered my parents. I didn't hold back; I was cruel.

Yet I saw her.

Freya, a woman whom I fell in love with and felt the warmth I had ever so yearned for.

She was the most beautiful woman I've seen, or maybe it was her smile and warmth that made me want to hold her, protect her, as she was the most precious thing I've held.

All that anger and hatred vanished when I was with her; we fell in love, then got married.

People who heard my name, or saw who I was, were fearful, but yet Freya wasn't; she loved me for who I am, not that I was a murderer.

But as Ivar.

Her village eventually accepted me, and then came the bump on her stomach. I was filled with joy, love, and content.

They killed her.

I left to find fur to be prepared for the day of my child's birth. I went to find a bear, but when I returned, she was hanging in a tree with her stomach ripped open.

The child lay on the snow, which was painted a pure white in red.

The village that accepted me was burned, and the people were murdered, women were taken as slaves or for their own pleasure.

But that day was the day I hunted and murdered those who killed my wife and village; no one was spared.

-

Opening my eyes, I still curse the gods for the reincarnation.

What I wanted was to see my wife, my child, and the people who accepted me, yet here, on this ship controlled by the Chancellor and the Council that governs the Ark.

But my parents are here, where I was born and brought to this Ark, which floated to bring another child.

Parents were only to have one child; my parents tried to hide my sister, but she was taken, and my parents floated.

I was given a name, Erik Reacher, which I hold them grateful for.

Standing up from this uncomfortable bed was normal since I was taken and thrown here and labeled as a delinquent.

For multiple reasons, including theft, fighting, and disobeying the Council.

I gave food and resources to those who needed them, but it was stupid, as I know that I can't feed everyone.

Making friends was the easy part, but I was a target, so I pushed them away, until I overheard a man, Griffin, talk about somthing.

Something that would have the man get floated, yet I didn't allow it, despite my age back then, I still had knowledge of how to fight, and my body adapted

The door slid open as a single individual entered, Thelonious Jaha.

"Erik" Thelonious Jaha spoke as he entered the door, which slid closed.

Do I hate this man? Yes, but not to the point of wanting to kill, just simple hate.

"You and many others will be sent to Earth to see if it's inhabitable." Thelonious looked away, then released a sigh.

"I have a favor,-

"You know what you are doing is a risk, sending others down there, which is not only a risk but also dangerous. What if they disobey? What if they don't communicate back? Or rebel? Then what?" I stood up and turned to him.

"That's why you will go, to keep watch, please," Thelonious spoke as he looked down.

"Wells, my son, he will-"

"Fine" is a simple one-word.

-Sorry, I've been in the hospital, I've gotten worse, I'll try to upload-
