"Anna! Anna! Anna!" Her brother's screams only added fuel to her steps as she sped past the trees, she was running, fast, faster than she thought possible, in the lush green forest, the only thing she could see were shades of green as her eyes blurred by the tears streaming down them. Her dress had been torn after tearing through multiple bushes, her shoes were yesterday's story, long lost at the beginning of her journey, her legs covered in dirt as her own blood streamed down them from the thorns she had gotten caught in, ultimately she was a complete and utter wreck, but all that was void as Anna felt nothing. At that moment all she needed to do was run, run away, far away, never to be seen again.
Earlier that day
Anna sat with her head down staring at the leftover food on her plate, something's wrong, she knew it, something bad was about to happen, if not why would the whole family be gathered for breakfast. At the table was Anna, her father 'Wilhelm White' the count, her mother 'Crina White' the countess and her older brother 'Theon White' and at last there was her 'Anna White'. The second daughter of count white and his third and last child, she had just turned 21 the passing summer and was well aware her parents were now looking for a suitable marriage partner. She could only pray not to be sold away like her older sister to some rich old geezer, but the man her parents had found was someone, who made the geezer option seem more reasonable. "Lucas Evans, you are to marry him" her father spoke, dropping his fork onto his plate, Anna stared wide eyed at the clearly pleased expressions on he parents faces, Lucas Evans, the same Lucas Evans, she wondered. Lucas Evans was the son of Duke Evans and the heir of the Evans family, the most powerful noble family in Arvenhall, second to none. The wife of Duke Evans, the current Duchess, was once 'Maria Arven' the princess of Arvenhall, she had wed into the Duke's family, while her brother had been crowned king, but when tragedy struck and the kingdom lost both it's king and Queen, she was put in Charge of raising her nine years old nephew, who was only slightly younger than her own son and had been crowned the King of Arvenhall.
It's been many years since then and the king no longer needs caretakers, yet the Evans never let go of their control over the kingdom, to the point people tend to call them, 'the Evans family of second class Royals', it's clearly a threat to the throne, yet, our king does nothing, they always represent the royal family and give the king's decree's, if not for his yearly meetings with the high, people would've wondered whether the king was dead and the Evans were just using him as a cover. And second in line to throne, once again we have Lord Lucas Evans. In any other circumstance this would've been a once in a lifetime opportunity, a chance for me to become one of the most powerful people in the kingdom, it would've been perfect, perfect if Lord Lucas wasn't already married.
