Landing atop a building I then took a seat right next to my buddy, the Gargoyle statue.

"So, how was your day?" I asked him. "Because mine was great." I said.

Having enjoyed my first day as Spider-Man.

Stopping an armored car robbery, then three muggings, and finally helping an older lady across the street with her groceries.

Not bad at all in my book.

Though of course there's still much more to come.

And whatever it is I'll be ready for it.

As I resolved myself to meet this standard I also enjoyed the sun set.

Until eventually I heard my stomach grumbling.

Meaning it was time to call it a day and get some food in my belly.

"And that's my que to leave." I said to the Gargoyle statue. "But don't worry bud, I'll be back." I told him.

I then pushed myself off the side of the building and began web-slinging once more.

Arriving back at the Web as usual, before heading home.

Though along the way I stopped in an electronics shop and bought another burner phone.

Where I then spent a couple of days retrofitting it to make it untraceable.

After which I set up social media accounts on twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and even YouTube.

I then began posting, using the platforms to get my story and message out to the world about who I was, and why I did the things I did.

Shocked when I found myself with no less than 200,000 followers in just under a week and myself trending.

Namely #NeighborhoodHero and #GoSpidey.

All this bringing a smile to my face.

Sitting in his office, within the base known as the Triskelion, the current director of the world-wide peacekeeping organization known as the Strategic Homeland Intervention Espionage and Logistics Division, also known as S.H.I.E.L.D. for short, directory Nicholas Joseph Fury, used his one good eye to review several video clips and photos on the monitors in front of him.

While two of his most trusted subordinates, and some of the closest people Fury would call friends, his deputy director Maria Hill, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phillip J. Coulson, stood at his side. Also reviewing the video clips and photos on the monitors in front of them.

All of the material being of Spider-Man.

Who S.H.I.E.L.D. had begun monitoring for the past month. Ever since he appeared.

"So Coulson, Hill, tell me, what do you we know about this Spider-Man?" He asked them.

"He's an enhanced individual who displays superhuman physical capabilities such as strength, stamina, and speed." Hill began. "Also from what little surveillance we've been able to gather on him he seems to display an almost precognitive ability to predict danger at certain times. Though as of now the results regarding this ability are inconclusive."

"What about those webs of his?"

"They are organic in nature. But whether they are artificial or natural we have yet to determine. Since none of our agents have been able to collect a big enough sample size of the webbing. Especially since it dissolves harmlessly in just under an hour." Hill explained.

"Understood." Fury replied. "Now disregarding his powers, what's your read on this Spider-Man himself?"

"He seems genuine in his actions of just wanting to help people sir." Coulson spoke up. "His social media posts attest to that aspect of his personality. And our psychoanalysists have determined this isn't just an act." He explained.

"Even though we still don't know who the man behind the mask is. Also, where are we in that regard?"

"Yes to your first question sir." Coulson replied. "And as to your second, we're still not having any luck. For whoever is behind the mask is cautious, calculating, and meticulous. None of our agents or surveillance has turned up any clue to Spider-Man's identity I'm afraid."

"Keep on it then Coulson. The more we know about Spider-Man the better. Also place him as a candidate for the Avengers Initiative." He instructed.

Since Fury felt Spider-Man was too good a candidate to simply pass over.

Especially since the world was getting crazier by the day.

Meaning S.H.I.E.L.D. needed allies now more than ever to keep it safe.

In particular more enhanced individuals.

Seeing as how the Fantastic Four had rejected being apart of the Avengers Initiative multiple times already and as for the X-Men and Mutants in general, Fury wasn't going to poke that bear of an issue with a stick just yet.

So yeah, he was going to work with what he's got.

"Are you sure about that sir?" Coulson asked.

"I am." Fury replied without hesitation.

He then ended the meeting with Coulson and Hill.

Hoping he was making the right choices regarding New York City newest hero.

Papers displayed across the desk of his home office, while numerous others hung on board surrounding him, Dr. Curtis Connors had a slightly crazed expression on his face as he looked over them.

All of the papers pertaining to his work on cross-species genetics.

A subject he rarely touched ever since his college roommate and research partners on the subject, doctors Richard and Mary Parker, had disappeared close to ten years ago.

Leading to the research on the subject coming to a complete and utter stall.

But in the past few weeks Connors felt in himself a renewal to return to the research.

All thanks to the appearance of Spider-Man.

A man Connors instantly realized could've only come about due to the research he and the Parker's had conducted all those years ago.

Making no sense to Connors.

For if Spider-Man were a product of his research then that would mean someone had made great leaps in it without his knowledge.

Though since all the data and material involving cross species genetic research was currently only in the possession of his current long-time employer, Oscorp Industries, Dr. Connors concluded only one of two things.

That either Oscorp Industries has been furthering his research behind his back, or that Richard and Mary Parker were in fact still alive and somehow involved with Spider-Man.

Either scenario not sitting well with Connors.

That's why he's currently working to get the the bottom of things.

No matter where it takes him.
