"Hello one of you explain," I said looking at the two standing still, and Antonio staring at them, am only Cindy speechless. Cindy then gave everyone a second of quiet.
"There are people with magic that need to learn how to harness it. So, the bird said. We have to know our abilities and limitations. Practice them and become stronger, but there could be more of us. Whether it be friendly or harmful." She said at last.
"Weird," Antonio stated, "I wonder what happened to the rest of us before then." Everyone looked at the bird. We were all shocked in place but for some reason this was starting to seem a little bit normal.
"Died," she screeched aloud.
"How," I asked, turning to grab her arm. She wasn't calm at all. She looked like she might be having a panic attack. Shaking and breathing harder.
"Killed by others. There is one who can be a teacher and he is in your family," repeated Phoenix aloud. Mine? But I didn't know anyone who could have such power in my house.
"What is his power," I asked looking at Phoenix and the bird, it was like the bird was talking through him.
"Super-hearing, feelings and invisibility. With speed," repeated Phoenix.
"Where can we find him?" I asked, looking at the bird this time. Our eyes locked or so I thought they did. Cindy and Phoenix looked confused, very confused at whatever answer he gave. How could they even hear him to begin with? Why couldn't we?
"Come on, spit it out," Antonio pushed. He said what I was kind of thinking.
"The bird said his mother's grave. His mother was one and got killed for it. Before he could finish training him. Beth. " Phoenix's eyes held pity as he looked at me. My mother's name, and grave. So, my brother was the teacher? So, my mom and brother were both power wielders? Why hadn't they told me they could? Why hadn't he told me himself? Why?
"It's my brother then." I felt my body go heavy.
