Ficool

Chapter 22 - Antonio

"Stupid. You could have killed us," I yelled at Phoenix.

"Shush here comes Darien," Cindy hissed at me. We had all gotten off Phoenix, and for that I was glad. Once we did, we watched his body change shape back into a human-like form. Almost on instinct he went to grab clothes to find them already on. Guess clothes when changing wasn't an issue.

We ended up standing together looking the way Cindy was. Guess it was toward the house. All I could see were leaves and tree branches though. From those tree branches came a dark hooded figure. Taller than me, but not as tall as Phoenix, for some reason.

"Listen and learn. Learn to listen and all good things will come." Said the male. This was so cool yet creepy. Wasn't he supposed to be Madison's older brother? Shouldn't he be more friendly? It was strange, yet I loved it. The mystery behind it made me want to know just a bit more. Curiosity grabbing must be his thing.

"Learn to control your powers. Don't get cocky or forget what you are. I am your new teacher, and you will do as I say, when I say." He continued. "And know who you are all?"

"What if we don't know what our power even is, teacher." Cindy asked politely.

"Learn," he said harshly, "learn your enemies as well. Knowing makes you strong, strong means trust. Trust can be broken though, but knowledge is key." He paused, looked at all of us and continued. "This is the key you now hold."

"Key to what," Phoenix stated.

"You'll understand that later," he said. "Meet me here tomorrow and we shall start training. We have the time."

I couldn't wait to be a full magic person. I was bubbling inside.

"Oh, by the way you must all sleep here tonight." He added and headed back for the house.

"You were right," Madison sounded surprised, looking at Cindy.

"Told you so," Cindy stated with a smile.

We all hurried inside Madison's home. Bubbling with so much happiness. We called our parents and asked for a sleepover. They all agreed without hesitation or many questions. They didn't know what we were doing at Madison's house, they just knew we were here and were supposedly safe. They didn't believe in magic, so we stayed quiet about ours. There would have been a death scene if we had told them.
