Chapter 7 - Chapter 8: Why Are You Telling Such Blunt Truths?

Tessa was really pissed off earlier.

She turned her grief and indignation into appetite, frantically stuffing food into her stomach, and deliberately snatching dishes from Faye, grabbing them right before he could.

She kept conveying her message to him, "We can never play happily again."

After Tessa snatched another dish he wanted to take, Faye looked at her coldly, "Tessa Caldwell, you really need to control your diet."

Tessa, who was happily munching away, suddenly froze, then cried out in distress, "You're saying I'm fat? Where am I fat?"

"If you keep going, you very well might." The man retorted sharply.

Tessa glanced down at her chest, then her waist, and glared at Faye, "I'm not fat, I'm not! You're the one who should eat less, you're a model. If you get fat, watch out they'll cancel your contract!"

Saying that, she snatched a piece of chicken from Faye, stuffed it in her mouth, and mumbled while chewing, "Even though I have a pretty face, I make a living on my abilities. Someone here has a handsome face but relies on their body. Be careful you don't turn into a 1,100-pound fatty."

Faye lifted an eyebrow, "Boring."

Just then, Tessa's phone rang with a text notification.

She rolled her eyes at Faye and picked up her phone. After just one look, her mood dimmed a little.

Faye's eyes narrowed suddenly, "Who?"

Tessa put down her phone, and as she continued eating, she spoke quietly, "Faye, I think I should tell you about my family situation. There's a grandma, a dad, a stepmom, and a son she had with her ex, a son she had with my dad, the former is a brother, the latter a younger brother... and a daughter of a distant relative... My dad's not exactly super wealthy, but he's still a rich guy, has the Caldwell Group, assets are quite decent. Just now, that text was from my non-blood-related brother, this person..."

Faye looked up at her and asked indifferently, "Why did you stop?"

Tessa pouted, "That guy... just... has been bullying me since we were kids. I hate him the most!"

Faye pressed his lips together, his dark eyes deep.

"My grandma is the self-righteous type, my dad is a filial son but not a good husband or father, yet he's very nice to that mother and son. My stepmom, no comment. To me, she's a stranger. My brother, a little brat, well not so little, seventeen years old. And there's also Karen Yates, my stepmom's distant relative, she has nothing to do with me..."

Tessa gave Faye another brief introduction.

Faye kept silently eating, with a lack of interest.

After being told by Faye that she needed to control her diet, Tessa suddenly felt like no matter how much she ate, it didn't taste satisfying anymore.

After finishing her introduction, she lowered her voice, nervously asking, "Um, am I really fat?"

Faye had already finished eating, put down his chopsticks, pulled out a napkin, dabbed his lips elegantly like a moving piece of beautiful art.

Setting the napkin aside and seeing Tessa still staring at him with hopeful eyes, he smirked, mimicked her way of speaking, and replied, "What big truths are you talking about now?"

Pfft!!

Tessa just about spat out old blood, can they still happily play contract spouses! So unlucky!
