Synopsis
Awoken in a virtual new life of dreams zavaiel must learn to make sense of it all. Filled with magic and advanced technology the world is as mysterious as it is diverse. The truth of who, or more importantly what, he is will shake the very foundation of this new world. The MC is extremely OP and does not care for the world, if you want a hero story that is balanced this isn't for you. That being said he will not be trying to take over the world. The story will be worked on regularly, i may not upload everyday, but it is being worked on. All chapters are subject to change depending on how I feel it flows with the rest. Let me know what you think, all feedback is welcome. Thanks

Chapter 1 - Awaken

The bright moonlight dimly shined through the seemingly clear window. The pale light landed on the floor, reflecting off of it and onto the walls. In turn the walls again reflected the light, this system of lighting was able to illuminate enough of the room to be able to make out what was what. On the two middle walls there was a black line shooting through the middle of them, with slight positional variations. Occasionally a dim blue light would pass through these lines however, the light did not penetrate the room.

There were five desks that lined the room against the walls, the largest of which was against the windows. This desk was about half the length of the wall, with another starting at the other corner of the wall, which took up only another quarter. Looking from the left window the bed took up about a third of the wall. Adjacent to the bed were the three other desks which each took up a little less than a third of the wall. There were also various other pieces of furniture and decorations around the room.

The stillness of the room was almost unsettling, seemingly like the room had been undisturbed for years. However, there was no dust on any of the surfaces, no dirt anywhere o the floor, even the armor and weapons on the stand had no dust. Suddenly a loud gasp filled the room as a figure shot up on the bed. Gasping for air the figure was covered in a cold sweat which had drenched the sheets. His hands gripped the sheets tightly, his bright silver and azure eyes strained to stay in place.

After a few moments his body relaxed and his eyes dimmed to a grey color. He wiped the sweat from his face then ran his hands through his hair. His black and platinum hair shined brilliantly in the moon light from all the sweat. His tan skin glistened, looking like stars in the night sky on a clear night. The boy closed his eyes and took a long deep breath, he then noticed a word, "initializing". This confused him and he opened his eyes to see if he was hallucinating. The word was still there at the top of his field of vision.

He looked around he room a few times and the word moved with him, staying in the center of his vision. The word then disappeared and a small blue box appeared in the center of his vision. "What is going on?" he said to himself. The box then expanded and disappeared leaving behind no trace that it was ever there. A screen then popped up with letters and numbers started streaming across it. Still shocked he watched until a message popped up. System: Welcome Zavaiel.

"Zavaiel?" he thought to himself "Is that me?". System: This is your new life, unfortunately your memories where not all able to be recovered. To help mitigate any confusion and the inconvenience the system will assist you with anything you may need. Zavaiel stared straight ahead in shock and confusion. "New life? Memories? Who am I?" he thought. System: You are Zavaiel Valynn, only child to "name redacted" and "name redacted". "Name redacted? So I don't even get to know my own parents?" he thought.

System: You are currently in the town of bronzehorn, south of the capitol of the kraithen empire. We will attempt to restore wat memories we can from you and your parents…. Please standby. Confused Zavaiel wondered what the system meant, suddenly he got a massive headache. It felt like he was being hit in the head repeatedly with a hammer. The system displayed a number, fifteen. The number then slowly increased, causing his head to hurt even more.

At eighty percent Zavaiel was now crying from the pain and was on the verge of passing out. He fell to the floor and assumed the fetal position, gritting his teeth as the number reached one hundred. He stayed on the floor for a few minutes sobbing, his mind was now a jumbled mess of information. System: Memory restoration complete, activating remaining sub-systems. Suddenly Zavaiel felt no pain, his mind was clear and he could compose himself. He stood up and sat on the edge of the bed.

"What was that?" he said. System: All pertinent memories have been restored; they will slowly come back to you. Also, all knowledge, skills, and abilities have been restored as well. "What skills and abilities?" he asked. As soon as he asked a screen detailing him appeared. System: This is your personal stat screen. It contains your attributes, skills, abilities, feats, professions, and proficiencies. You can also see all classes from this screen as well. Before you ask no tis is not a game, this is a life you have been given since yours ended, this system is just meant to simplify and make it engaging.

Zavaiel began looking through his stat screen. He is seventeen years old, his race is half elf with the other half unspecified but presumably human. He has 100 hit points and 10 in all of his attributes. System: You are starting life in your last year of high school, During the period until you graduate you will only be able to level up to ten. However, any abilities, feats. Skills, or proficiencies you gain shall not be capped. You may now access all memories, assign attribute and skill points, and you may choose a class.

Zavaiel spent the next couple of hours learning all he could with the help of the system and his memories. Attributes had to be assigned points to increase, skills, abilities, and feats increased by tiers based on how and how much you used them. To track skills, abilities, feats, and professions each were tacked by proficiency points. Separate from proficiency points were and individuals' proficiencies. These dictated how well and what you could use, for example at tier 0 a person could use a spell, but it may hurt them instead.

He learned his parents had left him an economic empire, ran by countless NPCs' across the continent and beyond. Through trade, investments, and many other professions the wealth of the company was almost innumerable. He could acquire any and everything he wanted anytime he wanted. He also learned that he was both a noble and royalty of four separate kingdoms, how this was accomplished was still unknown.

The system had left him to his own devices, but he could call upon it whenever he wanted. Just as he moved to another subject of his new life a knock sounded at his door. "Young lord are you awake?" the old but deep voice asked. "Who is this?" he asked himself. The man knocked at the door again, without thinking Zavaiel responded "come in". The door slid open and a tall older man walked in. He wore a butler outfit and had dark grey hair, though he was older Zavaiel could tell this man was not helpless.

The name above the man's head was Saren, "saren, what can I do for you?" Zavaiel asked as if he was not fazed by the man. "I just wanted to make sure you were up my lord. Also, I must remind you that you only have four months before school starts" he replied. "Thank you" Zavaiel said. Saren bowed and left the room, when he was gone Zavaiel returned to his studying and came up with a plan. He had found that most did not do anything to improve themselves until after school starts.

This was because students could not become level one until their final year of school started. Many would think it a waste of time to improve if they got nothing out of it, however Zavaiel discovered a loophole. The only stat that completely depended on your level increasing was his attributes. Skills, abilities, feats, professions, and proficiencies could still be learned and improved. Due to this discovery Zavaiel planned to fore go the normal activities of those his age and focus on training. Anything and everything that was available for him to learn or improve was done so.
