Chapter 7 - Captain?

"Master! Uh- where are we heading?" Lumos asked out of breath. They were already walking through the market when he finally caught up to his new master.

"Back to my ship of course!" she walked diligently as her cloak flowed gracefully behind her.

She really was a sight to behold. Her black pants perfectly conformed around her strong legs with boots laced up to her thighs. And a flowy white shirt was tied down by a black leather corset that accentuated her slim waist that actually acted as armor.

She was one of the most beautiful pirates that anyone in the port of Black Rock had ever seen; no one in the marketplace could stop themselves from staring at her as she walked through the crowd to the docks.

"Yo-Your ship?!" Lumos choked, just who was this woman?!

"Like you are a part of the crew? Who is your Captain?" He yelled out trying to keep pace with her.

With a snap of her fingers a magnificent Captains hat appeared over her dark red curls. "You're looking at her kid!" She yelled over her shoulder.

Did she just use magic?! But hold on, did she really just call him a kid?! I look older than that brat!

"Kid?!" he screamed back at her.

Rolling her eyes she ignored him, but just then she felt something was off.

Glancing around quickly as she sped through the market, she saw nothing.

She tried to focus her energy to find something, it felt as if she was just being watched. Not just by the creeps in the market, but something stronger...

However, it had completely disappeared.

She shrugged it off; maybe it was just in her imagination. She was a little tired after the show from the arena she just performed.

"Why are you walking so fast?!" Lumos's complaining interrupted her train of thought.

Stopping quickly, she turned on her heel to face him causing him to almost crash into her.

"What's with all these questions!?" Humph! 'He should be grateful I decided to save him!' she inwardly cursed.

Being a full head taller than this girl, looking down at her beautiful face, he got flustered. He didn't expect her to be so close, so like an idiot he blurted out the first thing that came to mind "Because I want to know what kind of crazy woman I pledged my loyalty to!"

His eyes widened, he didn't mean to call her crazy!... Well, at least not to her face!!!

He has never slapped himself before, but when he held his hand to cover his mouth after saying that. He ended up slapping his mouth so hard it turned red. He wanted to take it back so badly, but he was too slow.

Yet, her reaction wasn't what he expected.

She laughed!

However, after spending the last 2 hours with her, he already knew laughter wasn't a good sign and felt chills run down his back. Unconsciously his hands began forming into fists by his side and leaned back in fear.

"Fine! This master will tell you a little about herself!" There was a fire in her eyes now and he felt his back suddenly become drenched in sweat.

"I am Captain of the Black Dragon! My surname is not actually Rogue if you must know! I am actually 18 years old and I called you kid because my intelligence is far superior to yours! And if you ask any more questions before we even reach my ship I will not hesitate to hand you back to those trash bookies!" She whipped around again allowing her long curls to slap him in the face and walked quickly towards where her ship was docked.

. . . The Black Dragon? Lumos was lost in thought the moment he heard this and didn't even notice the sting from her hair whipping him in the face, he didn't know what to think.

This famous ship has always been regarded as mysterious. No matter the fight, they always won. Survivors or bystanders who saw the battles were always in awe. Spreading the stories of the Black Dragon to others caused a chain reaction of fear and amazement to be instilled in the minds of all who heard the tales.

However, the strange thing about it was that no witness was ever able to recall what the ship flag looked like as well as the figurehead on the front of the ship. Yet, the name "Black Dragon" would ring in their minds, with the picture of flames burned into their memory. The Black Dragon's mysterious nature caused many people to be suspicious of the tales, some even nick named it as "the ghost ship".

That was until "The Massacre on Red Sea" between "The Black Dragon" and "The Night Sky". It was witnessed by thousands, watching The Night Sky sink to the bottom of the Sea while debris floated on the water still set a-flame. The Black Dragon sailed away without even so much as a glance back at the damage done. It was a dark day, but after that no one questioned the authenticity of The Black Dragon.

However, even after thousands of witnesses, no one remembers the beauty of the deadly ship. Everyone's memories had been wiped. This seemed almost impossible. It could have only been done by someone with powerful magic, so powerful it was beyond anyone's imagination. Not just anyone had this ability. This event caused everyone to worship this ships' master. After all, this was a world where the powerful are respected the most.

Lumos became stuck in a trance, and without even knowing it, he followed his new little master towards the vessel of death.

"Well, welcome home Lumos" stopping right in front, she beamed up at the massive ship with hands on her hips.

On the other hand Lumos just woke up from his trance, not even remembering how his feet carried him after his new master only to have his jaw drop so fast. Now he understood everything.

All the rumors about the ship finally made sense.
