Amos's expression grew grim, "What? This weakling is not shadow material." He was in disbelief that this kid could actually become a part of THAT team.
"Hey! Who you calling a weakling?!" Lumos yelled at Amos.
Shrugging, Scarlet turned around, not wanting to face these two idiots any longer.
With her back to the two men she reminded, "Like I said Amos, he did not die immediately at my hands, so he has potential. I hate repeating myself, do not ask me again. If you see unfit to train him, then I can simply ask Marlo to replace you as a teacher as well as promote him to being my 1st mate."
Amos felt his heart begin to hurt, he wanted to cry, how could the Captain say such hurtful things?! To let Marlo, of all people replace him?! She truly is a devil to threaten him with that!
"Ah! Don't worry about this Captain; in 6 months' time he will be fit to join the Shadows!" Amos scrambled, continuing to look on as the small red head paid him no more attention and shut the door to her quarters.
With determination and a splash of disdain in Amos eyes he turned to Lumos "I don't like you," annunciating every word with anger.
Lumos's blood was boiling but he simply chose to act unbothered, "So what, it doesn't matter if you dislike me, what matters is that you like the Captain enough for the both of us. She even threatened to have you demoted if you didn't train me." he smirked, crossing his arms in triumph.
Without hesitation Amos unsheathed his sword pointing it at Lumos's chest "You dare to disrespect me?" he hissed through his teeth. However, Lumos just chuckled while he used the tip of his index finger to push away the sword. He loved how easy it was to get under this guys skin.
"You don't think I'm blind, do you? I can clearly see that you have feelings for our Captain. You hung onto every word she said, it was embarrassing to see how much drool came from your mouth. In-fact, even if I was blind, I'd still be able to see your jealousy. But it is too bad that the Beautiful Captain can't be bothered to return those feelings." Lumos chuckled tauntingly at the 1st mate.
Amos almost spat blood when he heard this, and swung his sword at Lumos.
Lumos felt as if he was having a déjà vu moment as he saw another sword barreling towards his neck for the second time today. He barely managed to bring his sword up fast enough to deflect the attack. A loud ring of metal clashing caused everyone on board the Black Dragon to turn their heads to look at the two men.
Another shit eating smirk grew across Lumoss face as he stared at Amos, but soon Amos returned the smirk.
"As the Captain said, I am your teacher, lets see if you can keep up." Amos chuckled darkly.
Suddenly Lumos had a bad feeling, but before he could even react, he was already looking up at the great blue sky. Then Amos's stupid smug face came into his blurred line of sight, looking down at him.
His attack was so fast the Lumos never even saw it coming.
"Lesson one, you know nothing and most importantly . . . you are nothing". Amos stood up straight then turned around without even looking back, leaving Lumos sprawled out on the deck to stare up at the sky.
Lumos was beyond pissed; having one's ass handed to them not once but twice in a single day is enough to make anyone grumpy.
Lena took this opportunity to aquatinted to Lumos and helped him up as he grunted in pain. "C'mon, let's get you to the infirmary" she chuckled. The angry and sad man had no choice but to slump over this short girl as she helped drag him to the infirmary on the ship.
