The poor merchant was just sweating a few seconds ago afraid of the show down that was about to happen between the fierce red head beauty and his master. Now he didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the two women squealing in delight as they embraced each other. What the hell was going on?!
Xia finally pulled back and allowed for some air to go into their lungs after squeezing each other so tightly.
"I can't believe you are actually here! I was out of town just a few days ago for some business and returned just in time to hear about your performance at the Black Rock Arena! I was so disappointed that I thought I had missed you, but luck is on my side to be able to see my precious sister again!" Xia grabbed Scarlets hands and dragged her away from the vendor stall to stand in the shade of a nearby palm tree.
She shot a look of disapproval at the man guarding the stall, the one gaze said it all, 'Mind your own business!' Her subordinates don't need to know about Scarlet.
Scarlet observed Xia, she was just as beautiful as she was when they were younger. Xia's high cheek bones and slanted eyes gave her elegant air compared to those all around her. While her raven colored hair seemed to always shine and her plump lips looked as if they were dyed red. Her fair skin always appeared to glow, but now her outfits are much more dangerous.
"Xia, you seem different" Scarlet took back her hands and held up one to hold her chin as her eyes narrowed at Xia.
Xia scrunched up her whole face while leaning her head to the side, "What do you mean Scar?"
Scarlet cocked one of her eyebrows and revealed a lazy smile "I remember you used to look like a mangled crow, so skeleton-like and clumsy, now look at you! A beautiful raven!"
Xia furiously blushed at this comment, not because of her friends praise but because she's embarrassed and pissed!
"Are you kidding me Scarlet? It's been 5 years! 5 YEARS!" Xia enunciated very dramatically.
Scarlet couldn't help but to laugh at Xia's face, even little tears began forming in her silver eyes from her stomach hurting from laughing so much.
Xia however, was unamused, "Why is it you never have anything nice to say?" she pouted.
Scarlet rolled her eyes at her friend's adorable pout and pinched her cheek, "I did just say something nice! I just complimented you!"
"We both know that was a back-handed compliment if anything!"
"Please Xia, don't act as if you don't know that you have always been a stunning girl. That vanity goes to your head when tons of men and even some women chase after you! As your friend it's my job to bring you back down to earth" Scarlet managed to get her laughing under control and smiled brightly at the still pouty face Xia was wearing.
"Alright" Xia rolled her eyes, still grumpy.
"That's more like it!" Scarlet beamed and patted her arm.
"Shut up, anyways, why did you want the Elixir?" Xia didn't forget about the treasure her friend sniffed out from her "merchant".
Scarlet chuckled at the 'shut up' comment, "I felt that it might come in handy." She shrugged.
Xia's folded arms dropped to her side in disbelief "Scarlet, you know better than me what can happen if you aren't careful with that thing. That's why I chose to sell it and not take it myself."
Scarlet patted her friends head to comfort her, "I know, plus I never said it was for me."
Rolling her eyes, Xia felt exasperated, "If not for you, then who?"
Scarlet simply shrugged and only smiled mysteriously at her.
"I have always hated how vague your answers can be" Xia sighed and pressed her hand to her head, feeling a headache coming on thanks to her friend.
"How did you come across this anyways?" Scarlet questioned.
"We found it when we… acquired a new ship" Xia smiled slyly.
Scarlet lightly chuckled, knowing full well that "acquired" was code for "being a pirate".
"Well whoever was the previous owner, they must have been incredibly wealthy. Good job Xia! I am so proud!" Scarlet giggled as she watched Xia blush again.
"Of course! It is because I learned from the best!" Xia laughed along with her.
"Yes you did, and if I found out how poorly my previous student was doing I would be so incredibly embarrassed!" Scarlet put her hands to her face to feign concern before shooting Xia a dark and menacing glance. "I would have to teach you a lesson if you were tarnishing my reputation!"
"Yeah right! We aren't kids anymore! You don't scare me!" Xia half heartedly declared.
"Oh?" The small redhead's lips curled up ever so slightly, making her look like a beautiful demoness ready to bring destruction. It was the same look Xia had seen when they were younger before disaster happened.
Xia felt herself beginning to sweat and retreat as Scarlet stood up a bit taller and walked closer to her with that creepy face! "Don't make me call for Bro Roman!"
Now this made Scarlet freeze for a second, ". . . Is Roman here?"
Xia's heart leaped with joy, 'Is sister really afraid? Hah! Serves you right thinking you can still bully me!'
"Yes, Roman is on the main ship!" Xia laughed as she was quick to use Roman as a shield.
Scarlet's frozen face began to thaw into a completely scary one. Before Xia could understand what was happening, that red-headed sister of hers was already on her way to the docks!
Poor Roman had no idea he was just betrayed and delivered into the arms of a devil by his very own sister.
