Chapter 8 - You Had An Affair With An Elf??!!

You had an affair with an elf..

Frosgate Town of Heldin Kingdom.....

A black wyvern flew over the walls of Frosgate, headed towards a three storied castle under the darkness of the night. The guards who were stationed outside the eastern gates of the town did not attempt to intercept because they already knew who the person was.

The Wyvern landed right outside of the large castle and a man holding a small bundle dismounted it, under the covers of the night.

He patted the head of the Wyvern and walked quietly inside the castle. As soon as he entered, a man who seemed to be in his late twenties met him with a face filled with Injustice. Clearly his sleep have been disturb due to the danger he had sensed coming towards his home.

"Somebody increased his rank huh? What are you now, a God"? The man asked.

"Shut up or else you'll wake the baby" the man said.

"Dad, you disturb my sleep in the middle of the night and tel—wait what? A baby?" The man said with a genuine surprise as he walked towards the man to take a look at what was in the bundle he held.

"What? An Elf? You had an affair with an elf? In three months? And brought it here? You're a dead man walking dad" The man said with genuine surprise.

"Shut up and take the baby idiot. It's a half-elf. We'll talk tomorrow. For now take him to your room, he's in your care for now" the man said and handed the bundle to his son before walking away.

The latter stood there for a few seconds still processing the situation. He wondered how his father was able to have a baby within three months. It didn't make sense. He looked at the peaceful face of the baby sleeping for a few seconds before it hit him.

After look at the baby closely, he realized he didn't only look cute but also a little familiar.

"Oh sh*t. Don't tell me….."

The sun rose from the eastern side of Frosgate as it ushered the world into a new day. Rays of light illuminated Lucian's room through the window as he slowly opened his eyes.

As everything became clear, he came face to face with a man and a woman who were looking down on him with different looks.

The woman held an affectionate look while the man looked down on him as if he was a thief.

"Good morning cute baby, aren't you adorable" Anna, the woman said as she held herself from squeezing the baby's chubby cheeks.

"Good morning bast-I mean stranger. What a wonderful day it is"the man said.

"Umm…you mind telling us who you are"

"Stop that Michael, it's just a bay" the woman pouted and punched the man.

"How about you bath first and then we find you milk huh" the lady said with a smile and picked up the baby taking him to the private bath tub inside their room.

Inside the Council room of Frosgate, six people sat around a large wooden table engaging in their own conversations as they waited for the last person of the council to join them. They had been called impromptly to attend this meeting so they were expecting it to be something serious.

A few minutes later, the large metallic door of the conference room opened and a man who looked like somebody in his early forties walked in. Although he looked younger, he was way past a hundred years.

The people of the world of Ferun were built different and could outgrow other species in different worlds and still look younger.

He sat on the only empty chair available signaling for the meeting to start.

"You called this meeting Aaron, the council is ready to hear you out" Halan, a man who looked as old as Aaron said.

Aaron nodded stood up to address the council.

A few minutes later he sat down waiting for their reactions but none came. Just then, Halan signaled with his hands to gain their attention.

"Despite me being the council chair, you're the head of your clan and this is your town so how do you wish to proceed?" He asked.

"Although a half-elf, he's my own blood and I'm keeping him. that is why I called this meeting to let you know"

"You want to what? keep an elf? Raise an elven child? Here?" Moses, one of the council members spoke out

"A half-elf actually. And not just any child, he's my grandson"

Aaron replied, unfazed by the looks they were throwing at him.

"You know this is against the laws of the kingdom right?" Another person asked.

"Well aware" he replied.

"You also know what this means right?" Another asked.

"Nope. Tell me"

"Old bastard!! The king!!" another answered

"Oh him. You don't have to worry about him, my letter will reach him by mid-day" he answered.

"So then why did have to consult us" Moses said. Aaron was his friend and he knew him very well to know that as long as he set his mind on something, there was no going back.

Although he knew Humans despised elf's, he couldn't do anything about this situation because his friend had already made up his mind. His only hope was that the people of Frosgate will welcome the innocent child.

"I decide to consult the council so that if push comes to shove, you'll be there to defend him as you'd do for any Veyrath" Aaron said. Every single person in the room was well aware of the circumstances surrounding Lucian's birth. And the fact that he was somehow with them was a miracle. They understood Aaron well because if word of the boy's existence got out, not only would they be facing danger but an army.

"Let's take a vote" Halan, the head of the council said despite knowing Aaron will not change his mind no matter the outcome. But they had to decide if the boy deserved the town's protection.

"Raise your hands if you're in favor of this decision. Hands remain in position if you're against it".

A few seconds passed and only two hands could be seen.

"Arnold my friend. How are your goats faring on the new grazing grounds" Aaron asked one of the council members with a smile.

"And Renn, how was your farm yield this season. It was good eh" He called out to another.

Halan, the council head looked at the old man in disgust. Clearly he was using his favors to scam the others in joining him on his bandwagon.

And he succeeded. A few seconds later, four hands could be seen raised in support of the old man's decision. Four against three meant that his decision stood

"Alright, you have your way. Rest assured, we'll defend him from any danger. But know that any abuse towards him racially shall not be seated on by the council unless outside of race" Halan said.

"And the council shall not interrupt with how I deal with such things too" Aaron replied with a smile.

"It shall be announced to the public by sunset that your son has adopted an elven child to make it make sense" he added.

They knew the people wouldn't take this lying down and would ask questions.

"What is his name" the council head asked ignoring the old man's reply to his previous statement.

"From now on.."

"He will be known as Lucian"

"Lucian Von Veyrath"
