[7:34 AM: Boot Town Inn]
Luffy woke up first, likely due to the loud grumble from his stomach that hadn't been fed in several hours and then finds Sanji in the kitchen of the Inn, helping the chefs make breakfast. "SANJI! FOOOOD!" He shouted and Sanji looked and his morning energy died and he sighed deeply, "Captain, you have to wait til breakfast." Sanji tells him sternly. Luffy whines and his stomach growls, thus proving his point and so, with another deep sigh, Sanji goes and brings Luffy some toast and sits him down. Meanwhile Robin and Reina enter the dining area shortly and have some coffee while waiting for breakfast, deep in conversation. Franky enters next, SUPER energized and ready for the day, behind him, Brook enters, playing a lively tune on his... acoustic guitar he somehow has. Jinbei then comes in calmly and settles in his corner with a nice cup of tea. Usopp and Chopper soon enter and Usopp turns Chopper's head away from the sweets, still in recovery from their sugar high and devastating crash the previous night. Nami soon comes in not too much later with a hungover Gigi, who looks like she regrets her life choices. Zoro and Reiko don't make an appearance throughout, but regardless, breakfast begins and Sanji and the chefs bring out the exceptional breakfast that vanishes almost as quickly as it came with Luffy and the others. Sanji and the other chefs watch from the side, proud of their work as the crew devours it.
Soon breakfast is gone and Nami wipes the stuff off her face before clearing her throat. "Listen up guys!" she says and the others look to her as she explains their agenda for the day, "Today we're gonna gather some information and get supplies." she says then turns and begins assigning jobs, "Jinbei, your with Luffy, Chopper, you got Reiko and Zoro, Robin and Reina, information gathering." Nami says. Jinbei and Chopper nod, Reina mock salutes and Robin smiles. Nami then looks at the rest of the crew "The rest of you, try not to cause any international incidents PLEASE." she says and they nod and start to split off.
[Some time later, Nami and Gigi, Boot Town market]
Nami and Gigi entered the market and were immediately met with looks as the people turned and stared and whispered to each other. "What's their problem?" Gigi mutters. Nami shrugs, also glancing at some of the people who quickly looked away like they weren't staring. Nami shifts uncomfortably and they both quicken their pace and go to a jewelry stall and they look through the selection. Nami picks out a nice bracelet, "Makes you look even prettier!" Gigi says, looking at it. Nami blushes "s-shut up." she says and hands it to the vendor to pay. "12000 beri." The vendor says. Nami's eyes pop out, "12 THOUSAND??!" she asks outraged. The vendor shrugs "Tough times." he says and Nami fumes but Gigi puts hand on her shoulder and Nami takes a breath, composing herself, then goes into negotiation mode, "10000!" she says, "11000." they say, "10500!" she retorts and they go back and forth for a while, "8255 final!" they say. Nami glares at them but sighs and pays.
"Stupid vendor.." Nami mutters as they leave. "Hey, at least it was worth it, you look much hotter" Gigi says with a shrug. Nami blushes slightly again but nods in resigned agreement. "Still overpriced." Nami says, "Worth it. Besides, you looked incredibly sexy the way you negotiated." Gigi says playfully and Nami's blush deepens, "S-shut up." she says and Gigi smirks and they continue to the next stall
As Nami haggles the vendor, Gigi glances back at the jewelry stall where the same vendor sells an almost identical bracelet for less than a quarter of the price Nami did. She clenches her first and turns to the owner of the current stall who is negotiating with Nami for a hat at 2000 beri. Gigi pushes Nami out of the way just before she agrees to 1125. "125 beri. Final." Gigi demands. The shopkeeper looks shocked, "1150! Are you trying to scam me?!" she asks. "I'm not negotiating, that hat isn't worth a quarter of that." Gigi says flatly. Nami, by the side, jaw dropped as she watches Gigi negotiate it down from 275 to her price. The shopkeeper gives it to them very unhappily and so as they walk away, she puts it on Nami. "There. It looks amazing." she says softly with a satisfied smile. Nami remembers how to speak and closes her mouth, "Uhm.. Thanks.." she says flustered and in awe. Gigi gives her a warm smile, "Anytime. I couldn't let them get away with scamming you twice." She says and Nami blushes and doesn't say anything.
[Elsewhere, Robin and Reina, the bar]
Reina and Robin sit at the bar. Reina smirks every time she catches Robin stealing glances and tells her to focus as they enjoy their drinks while simultaneously listening to a group of drunks gossip,
"Did you hear about the newcomers?" One of them says. "Yeah, I heard them all with the devil. They even have a skeleton!" another says. "Its a sign! Hell's leakin' as the preacher man said himself! the first exclaims. "I know! Have you seen that cyborg they got? It's a mockery of God's creations!" the third says. Robin has stiffened uncomfortably while listening. Reina sees and gently takes her hand, tracing circles comfortingly on her hand. "Y'know, I also heard the devil child from Ohara is here too," the second one says conspiratorially. "The devil child herself??" the third says shock with something that could be disgust or hatred. "MORE PROOF! THAT DAMN PREACHER'S RIGHT! THE DEVILS COMIN' TO TOWNQ" The first one shouts. Reina's eyes darken and she stands up and takes Robin and walks out with her.
"Are you ok?" Reina asks Robin once they're out. "Y-yeah. I'm fine." Robin says unconvincingly. Reina hugs her, "I'm so sorry Robin... you don't deserve that. They don't even know you!" she says. Robin doesn't say anything, keeping her face carefully composed as Reina cries into her. "It's ok. You don't need to cry, i'm used to it." Robin says reassuringly, "Well I'm Goddamn not." Reina says pulling away. "And neither should you." She says softer and Robin blinks then blinks more rapidly a few more times, pushing back tears. "C'mon. Lets go back to the inn." Reina says gently and takes Robin's hand and they begin walking.
[In another location, Luffy and Jinbei]
Luffy and Jinbei were walking down the street and Luffy was sniffing the air, searching for meat. "Jinbeiiiii I don't smell any meattt. Are you sure its this way??" Luffy asks. "I double checked the map Luffy-kun. I'm most certain." Jinbei says. Around them, some of the people around were giving unfriendly looks to Jinbei as they pass but he ignores them. As they turn onto a more busy street they Luffy's nose twitches in the way it does when meat is in radius. "MEATTTTT!" He shouts and runs. Jinbei grabs his arm and remembers its made of Rubber as it stretches with Luffy running ahead through the crowd. Jinbei quickly runs to keep up. Around them people whisper, "Did you see the way that boy stretched?" one says. "Do you think he's of 'em demons with weird powers?" Another asks. The person next to them nods, "And the fish..." they say "I hear the sea is full of monsters like it.." another says. Should it have been any other person on the crew, they would've gotten beaten but Jinbei ignores it but Luffy slows as he hears some of these and begins to hears all of these whispers, "Did you see the way he stretched?.." one person says. "He's a devil.." a second person says. "Outsider..." a third whispers. "Did you see the sea monster?..." says another person. "One of 'em monsters from the deep..." another person says.
That's when Luffy snaps. He stops just before the stand, eyes dark, fists clenched and the butcher looks up, "10000 for the slab." they tell him flatly, giving him a look of disapproval. Jinbei catches up, "Luffy-kun! You mustn't run off like that!" he scolds. Luffy lowers his hat, eyes dark and turns to face Jinbei. "Jinbei, I'm not hungry anymore." He says voice low, eyes dark. He doesn't look at the meat, deadly serious for once. Jinbei sees this and pauses. "Luffy-kun... don't pay them any mind." Jinbei says low and reassuring. Luffy's expression doesn't change as he hears the people talking and simply turns the other way. "I don't want meat from people who make meat smell like rot." He says. Jinbei nods, "Zoro, Chopper and Reiko are at the inn." He says. Luffy nods and walks back with Jinbei and turn the corner, away from the meat and the food district.
