Chapter 38 - Chap.37 - Fatigue

Bonus Chapter [9] - EX - 960 Power Stones.

[A/N:I changed the name of the second effect of the "Figurehead" in the previous chapter.

This is because it was translated incorrectly and I didn't realize it. it went from "immediate" to "First Mate". The confusion arose because in Portuguese, "Imediato" translates as "immediate", and also in a naval context, "First Mate".]

--x--

Rigel ignored the Figurehead for a moment and turned to the ship below him, he could feel that the ship was still alive, the dead birds still flying around it, cawing angrily at Rigel, but not daring to approach.

The miniature Expecto Diabolus surrounding them had its eyes fixed on them.

However, the real surprise came from Jack. "Aaaaaah!" The scream threw Rigel off his train of thought.

Looking at Jack on the Black Pearl, he was shocked, Jack's hand was beginning to transform into a disembodied black shape, just like Salazar and his crew!

Rigel's eyes widened. What on earth was happening?

"Rigel! A little help, please!" Jack shouted, waving his hand violently, as if the transformation could be reversed that way. Unfortunately for Jack, it couldn't.

Rigel frowned, glancing back at the Silent Mary as Jack continued to scream and the pirates fled from him, afraid of catching the curse. Rigel thought that if there was a source for the curse, it must be this ship, but as he searched for a solution he looked at Diabolus, he knew that even Diabolus at its maximum size wouldn't be able to swallow this ship as it had done with the Aztec chest of gold.

So he went with plan B.

Focusing his magic on Diabolus again, he felt he really needed to take a break after this adventure, he felt as if his body weighed twice its normal weight at this point, his head throbbing with pain.

But he didn't stop.

Diabolus grew to 15 meters again, but this time, the snake roared silently before exploding into green mist.

The green mist didn't stay still, but completely covered Silent Mary, the black ship began to appear as if it emitted a phosphorescent glow, green dominating every small piece of wood and rusty metal.

The ship trembled fiercely as Rigel leaned forward quickly, trembling with exhaustion. He persisted, black fog billowing continuously from the ship, and birds cried out in pain as they fell one after another.

Jack, on the other hand, shouted excitedly, waving his hand to the other pirates. "Ha! It's disappearing! It worked!"

Gibbs was the first to brush Jack's hand away, even though it was now normal. Gibbs even considered suggesting that Jack cut off that hand, feeling that it would bring bad luck.

Rigel ignored the idiot and found himself in bigger trouble.

The black mist was completely eliminated while the green glow also diminished until it disappeared, but this caused any magic that made the ship float to end as well, it was sinking, and fast!

Even though he saw the Adventure Book open again in front of him, he ignored it.

Rigel's eyes widened, feeling foolish for having stayed on that ship. He quickly jumped off the ship, the water was obviously salty and extremely cold, his clothes were soaked, but he ignored it and quickly began swimming away, already starting to feel the drag caused by the sinking ship.

Fortunately, the Interceptor was nearby, a rope was thrown to him, he braced himself as the water roared behind him, he looked back, seeing the three-masted ship slowly disappearing into the depths of the sea.

Rigel felt it was a pity.

That ship was responsible for sinking dozens of pirate ships, if only he could take it with him... unfortunately, it was already very deteriorated, even more so now that it had lost its curse.

Shaking his head, he was pulled up by the crew.

When Rigel landed, soaked with seawater but still wearing his clothes and hat, he sighed with relief, picked up his wand, and waved it towards himself, wiping and drying himself.

When he finished, he looked around, all the pirates were looking at him with a reverent posture, but unfortunately, Rigel didn't have the spirit for that now.

Especially Elizabeth's eyes, she had helped fire the cannonballs, she was still full of adrenaline from the fight. In one week she had lived more and felt happier than in her entire life.

This only made Will, who was standing next to her, feel even more ironic.

"Tell Jack that's all for now, we'll meet again when fate allows." Rigel waved his hand, too tired for anything, regardless of whatever curse Jack had contracted, it should have ended with the sinking of the Silent Mary.

He stumbled inside, but soon felt an arm reach around him, helping him up. Looking up, he saw Will. "Are you alright, Rigel?" he asked worriedly.

Rigel waved his free hand and spoke. "Help me down."

With the power of the hat, he wasn't afraid of the crew attacking him, so he wasn't worried about that now.

Instead, with Will's help, he was placed in his hammock and fell asleep soon after, without even seeing what the adventure book had written.

Rigel slept for a long time this time, only waking up two days later. He was pale and hungry, groaning as his body protested.

"Water." He said, his lips dry and his voice hoarse.

"Here." A voice spoke, quickly offering him a glass of water. Fortunately, Rigel had already thrown away all the lead-containing dishes from the ship while still in Tortuga, all the glasses there were made of steel.

Rigel picked it up and drank it with relish, downing the entire glass in one gulp, finally managing to see who was beside him.

It was George, the smallest of his crew, well, he's still bigger than Marty, but he was referring to age. "What are you doing here?"

"We were watching you in shifts." George said, puffing out his chest to appear taller, full of pride.

Rigel chuckled lightly, handed back the glass, and asked. "How long did I sleep?"

"Two days, Captain." George thought for a moment and replied.

"Where are we now?" Rigel continued, exiting the net with some difficulty.

"Anamaria said we're heading towards Tortuga, it'll still take another day of travel." George replied.

Rigel grunted. Tortuga was one of the few ports that accepted pirates, it made sense that she wanted to go there.

He felt some strength return to his body after hydrating, but his stomach growled soon after, he was starving.

Taking a plate of baked potatoes with fried fish, he shared it with George while looking around.

There were no crew members sleeping nearby, and some light filtered through the boat's wooden structure, so it was still daytime.

George refused nothing, stuffing a bunch of potatoes and fish into his mouth as quickly as he could, he had no decorum whatsoever.

Rigel merely laughed and shook his head before groaning in pain, clutching his neck. He realized Salazar wasn't there. Confused, he turned to George and asked. "Where's the yellow snake that's always around my neck?"

George tried to speak, but ended up choking. Rigel rolled his eyes and slapped him on the back, making the boy spit and cough as if he were dying.

Rigel handed him a glass of water, finally relieving him. His eyes were red and watery from choking. He spoke. "With Jack, Jack helps it catch rats."

Rigel grunted, then spoke. "All right, you go first, I'll come up later."

George nodded, remembering to hide some fried fish in his pockets, making Rigel laugh again.
