A familiar voice cuts through Ethan's thoughts, enabling him to think about anything else. Ethan could only focus on the sound of footsteps approaching from behind
" Ethan, please don't make my efforts of loving you become just kind gestures for you to overlook."
As those words left Joah's mouth, everything stopped for a moment, and the air felt unnervingly silent, then the sound of footsteps approached as Ethan contemplated and processed his words
"Ethan, ... I've been taking care of you since we became roommates, you think I accidentally mixed our laundry every week? You think I accidentally bought two similar toothbrushes. Honestly, I think you're ignoring my attempts on purpose."
Ethan suddenly felt two arms wrapped around his waist, then turned him around with a motion firm but gentle. He looked up and saw Joah's face, his eyes, who looked so similar from afar, now up close, the way through his glasses Joah's eyes silently narrowed, passing a clear message
He was waiting for this
Joah leaned down and presses his forehead against his while wearing a nervous smile
" Ethan please, please give me a chance I love you so so much, please let me adore you, please let me take care of you Ethan...please let me be the one who'll give you a gentle future the one where you can let your guard down, and the tomorrow where you don't need armor to feel safe, please let me wake up beside you every morning Ethan "
