Kiefer's pov
It was a Thursday and it was the second day of our exams.
I woke up with a throbbing headache. I tried to stand up but felt really weak. My knees gave out, and i ended up back on my bed.
I forced myself to try and stand againg but i couldn't.
I reached for my phone to call someone. I didn't call Jay to tell her, she would just get worried. I called Edrix.
~ on call ~
Edrix~ Hey bro. What's up? Everything ok?
Kiefer ~ Hey. Yeah i just have a slight headache. I don't think i will come into school today. Can i ask a favour though.
Edrix~ Anything for the King.
Kiefer~ Can you pick my brithers up for school. I don't really trust the driver right now.
Edrix~ Sure Kief no problem.
Kiefer~ And also…can you please make shre Jay doesn't find out. If she asks just say j had work and that i will resit the exam.
Edrix~ Yeah Kief no problem. But just a pice of advice. I know i never had a girlfriend but it hink you should tell Jay. If she finds out that you hid your health from her, i don't think she will be happy.
Kiefer~ I know, i want to tell her but i don't know how to make it sound not as bad as it is. I canteven get up from the bed. I feel dizzy and collapse every time i do.
Edrix~ Ok. How about this. I tell jay that you have a headache and wont come to school. But wont exaggerate it. If she wants to see you i will bring her over with your brothers after school. Deal?
Kiefer~ Yeah ok. Just make sure she doesn't overthink it. Also make sure Yuri doesn't get anywhere near her.
Edrix~ Yeah no problem bro.
~call ended~
I sat there on the bed. Thinks to myself, Yuri could do anything while I wasn't there.
I pushed the thiught out of my head. She will be fine. I thought to myself. Section e will protect her.
I called for the butler and told him to check if the bous were awake and to wake them up if they weren't.
I looked down at my phone. I need to tell her. I opened out chat. I typed.
Message To:
Mrs Watson~ I won't be comming in to school today. Slight headache. Aries will drop you or Edrix. Love you.
Message From:
Mrs Watson~ Ok, but be ready. I will come after school. We will go to the doctor.
Message To:
Mrs Watson~ Not needed Jay. Stop worrying. I will just have painkillers. I wil be fine.
Message From:
Mrs Watson~ No excuses Kiefer. Be ready. Love you too.
Message To:
Mrs Watson~ Fine. But be careful around "him". I love you more.
I put my phone away and called for the maids to bring me breakfast. I thought eating might help. Also i can take my medicine after.
After breakfast i took my ipad and say that sir Alvin had sent me the test papers attached to an email saying that i can take the test from home.
I opened the papers and turned on my camera. I was recording myself so sir knew i didn't cheat.
I quckly finished the test and submitted it to sir.
I sent the recording as well.
After the test i lay in my bed. I had tajen the medicine but it would take time for the effects to come.
I didn't even realise when i went to sleep.
When i woke up the sun was in the middle of the sky. The curtains were pulled apart.
I felt the warm embrace, a familiar feeling. I looked to my side. She was there. Sleeping with me. Snuggling close.
I immediately wrapped my arms around her. I felt her warm embrace on me. If felt soft. It felt familiar. It felt like home.
My eyes started to droop and i went back to sleep.
(Two hours later)
As i woke up. I felt her fingers, brushing through my hair. Ber soft gaze on me.
I opended my eyez to meet hers. She smiled, soft, calm, comforting.
"Morning" she said
"Morning" I replied.
"Do you need anything" she asked
"Yeah" i replied. "You"
She laughed slightly. "I am right here"
"I know" I replied.
She got up and put her hair up.
"Go get freash. I will go and make you something to eat" she said.
"Ok" i said. "But help me up"
She reached out her hands and i grabbed onto them. She pulled my up. I sat up on the bed.
I felt alot better now that she was here.
I got up and wled to the bathroom. I wasbed my face and looked at myself in the mirror.
The face of the boy who used to be a monster was now replaced with the face of a man in love.
I combed through my hair with my fingers. The water dripping from my chin onto my shirt.
I walkex out he bathroom and downstairs to the kitchen.
Jay was there. Standing by the stove. A pan already set.
She was mixing something in the bowl.
She saw me and told me to sit.
I sat at the table, watching her in awe.
She set down a bowl filled with fruits in front of me.
"Eat"she said "You need yo have your medicine"
"The only medicine i need is you" i replied
She laughed slightly and turned back.
Five minutes later another playe was set in front of me. With pancakes. Honey dripping from the side and whipped crean in between each pancake.
Just the way i like it. Jay knew. She knew everything.
After eating, Jay took my medication from my room and brought it downstairs for me to have them.
I sat on the sofa in front of the tv. She brought out a small saucer eith the tablets and a glass of room temperature water.
I took the medicine and she took the glass and saucer back to the kitchen.
When she came out she looked at me and said. "Kiefer i should get going now. Kuya will probably get worried"
"No. Please stay." I pleaded
"I can't. Aries knows i am here but kiya doesn't." She said
"Then Aries can tell him" i told her
"Kiefer…"she started
"No excuse Jay i am sick i need you" i said
"Fine. But only one night, and no funny business" she said
I nodded like a child listening to their mother tell them whats right and wrong.
"I'll just call kuya and ask him first" jay said, then she walked out of the room.
I sat on the sofa waiting patiently.
"Kuya said yes. But. I have to be back home by tomorrow afternoon." Jay said
I nodded, happy.
We sat on the balcony of my room. Not talking, not teasing, not thinking. Just…being.
The sun was setting over the Manila skyline as we went back inside to go to sleep.
Jay wrapped her arms around me, cuddling close.
Instinctively I wrapped my arms around her. Pulling her closer to me.
We lay there, in eachothers embrace. Nothing existed, just us.
