Jay's pov
I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping. I was back home now. It was Monday. Results day.
I sat up and looked at the time on the clock hanging above my window.
6:03
i got up quickly and walked to the bathroom. i washed my face and brushed my teeth.
as i was making my way down for breakfast i saw Aries emerging from his room as well.
"You're up early" i said in a teasing tone, remembering that he was late for exam day.
"I was late one time jay, one time" he said.
we made our way down to the breakfast table together.
as soon as i sat down mumma put a plate full of food in from of me.
"Eat" she said "Today is results day i believe, you will need the energy"
i didn't complain and just ate. It was food. How can anyone say no to food ?
Aries finished before me, as always.
"Hurry up jay" he said as he got up and took his plate to the kitchen. "I don't want to be late again"
"That was one time Aries. And it wasn't because of me" i fired back
Kuya Angelo just looked up from his ipad and released a disappointed sigh.
Tito Julez looked up from his newspaper and looked at us intrigued at our behavior.
After Aries disappeared into his room i hurried up eating and finished my food in a haste.
i ran up the stairs to go get ready, I didn't want Aries to leave me again.
as i was showering, the realization hit me that i could just ask Kiefer to pick me up for school.
I got out of the shower and got dressed. Immediately after i messaged Kiefer asking of he could pick me up for school.
Message To:
Hari ng Ulupong - Kiefer. Can you pick me up for school today? Aires is leaving extra early because he doesn't want history to repeat itself.
Message From:
Hari ng Ulupong - Already on my way.
I put my phone away and quickly packed my bag, put on my shoes, grabbed my phone and waled downstairs.
Aries was at the door about to leave.
"How did you know u wasn't going with you" i asked
"Kiefer messaged me" he replied
"So you guys are friends now?" I asked
"Yeah. Kief, Percy, and me" he replied
I didn't ask about Yuri. I knew they wouldn't talk to him anymore.
I waitfor five minutes before i got a message from Kiefer telling me to come outside.
Message From:
Hari ng Ulupong~ Come outside jay, i am waiting.
Message To:
Hari ng Ulupong~ Ok, coming. Wait!
I hurried out to see his car oarked in from of the gate. He was leaning against the passenger side door.
As j walked towards him his eyes landed on me.
"Morning" he said.
"Morning. How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Good, but loads better now that your here." He replied.
I just rolled my eyes and made my way towards the door.
He didn't let me open the door. He did his usual ritual, again. Then walked to his sode of the car and got in.
Before he started the engine he grabbex my hand and intertwined out fingers.
He then started the engine and we drove off towards school.
When we reached school, Kiefer pit the car in park and got out from his side.
This time, before he could reach me i already got out.
"Why did you het out before i couls help you?" He asked.
"Because you don't have to help me every time."i replied with a calm expression
"But i want to!" He said
"Well u don't need to" i said kissing his cheek.
He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
As we walked to the classroom, i heard people whispering.
I didn't care.
When we reached the classroom. Everyone was already there.
"The power couple has arrived" Edrix shouted.
"They're holding hands" Felix screamed.
"Soon they'll be kissing in the classroom" Rory added.
"Shut up" i said, raising my fist.
"Let them breathe " David announced, though a grin was present on his face.
I let go of Kiefers hand and walked over to my seat in between Ci and David.
Ci was sleeping peacefully. I was feeling a little mischievous so i took a feather out of my bag.
I slightly bushed the feather in the space between his top lip and the tip of his noes.
With a sudden jerk, Ci instantly sat up.
While vigorously rubbing under his noes he asked "Who was that?"
Nobody answered.
He looked around to see everyone looking at him. He looked at me as i couldn't help letting out a slight giggle.
"Jay" Ci said
Before i could say anything else, sir Alvin walked in.
"Class, class. Settle down please." He said
Everyone turned in their seats to face the front.
"This isn't a proper lesson because it is results day. This is just the announcement of your trip." He added
The whole class erupted in cheers.
Ci screamed
Edrix and Rory cheered in unison
Drew, Denzel and Josh immediately started planning.
"This will be an over-night trip" sir said "Make sure to ask your parents. i know you all are grown up enough but there should not be any confusion. jay you will be sharing rooms with any girl from section A or C. Boys you will decide rooms between yourselves."
Ci looked at me with a sad look. "I won't be able to have a sleepover with you Jay" He said
"I know, but maybe next time" i replied.
there was a ringing of ring tones. Everyone's phones got a notification all at once.
This could only mean one thing. Before i could even check my phone, Drew shouted. "Results are up in the main hall"
Everyone rushed out towards the main hall.
I sat there still in my seat. sir Alvin was outside taking a phone call.
I thought i was the only one in the room until i felt a familiar pair of hands on my shoulder.
Kiefer was standing behind me. A knowing look on his face. "You're worried, aren't you?" he asked
"Yeah" i replied slumping on my desk.
"I am sure you will get amazing marks Jay" he said
"You're only saying that to make me feel better" i replied, my head still on my desk.
"No. I am saying that because i have seen how hard you have been working, and trying." he responded immediately
"Come on. Let's go" he added
"I don't want to!" i replied
"If you don't get up i will carry you, and you know i will. Besides, Angelo will ask you your results when you get home anyway, and lying isn't an option in front of Angelo"
"Fine" i sighed
I got up and made my way to the door. Before i could get far i was pulled back with a force.
Kiefer had grabbed my hand and pulled me close grabbing my waist.
He pulled me in and leaned in at the same time, then...he kissed me. Soft, loving, caring. Not harsh. As i pulled back, our foreheads touching.
"Let's go" he said, grabbing my hand and interlocking our fingers.
As soon as we stepped into the main hall, I was ambushed by an exited swarm of section e boys.
"Jay you NEED to see your score" Denzel said
"Yeah it is...just...i can't explain it" Eren added
i felt my stomach do a back flip...or a front flip...i don't know but i just know it did some sort of flip.
I walked towards the board, my hand in Kiefer's.
When we reached the board, my eyes didn't scan fir my name, the scanned the sheet for Kiefer's.
99.9%
I felt happy, but also scared to see my own.
As my eyes moved further down the list, the widened to the size of saucepans.
Jasper Jean Fernandez Mariano : 99.9%
I felt a sudden gush of happiness, one that was much greater than the one i felt before.
i looked at Kiefer, he was looking at me, a proud look in his eyes.
"I did it" i said
"You did it" he said his eyes never leaving mine.
i felt an unusual proud feeling in my chest as we walked back to our building.
That day back at home, i told kuya Angelo, tita Jemma, tito Julez, and mumma.
They were proud of me. I didn't bother telling Aries, he had already checked my score.
That night as i lay in bed thinking of the score i had gotten
99.9%
still not 100% but still good.
I felt a feeling of immense pleasure as i fell asleep.
