Synopsis
Squadron No. 6 has been deployed in Sovyet territory for a mission deemed highly dangerous: to destroy an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile that has been reported there. Led by Rafa Reinarcher, the squad embarks on yet another successful mission, expecting another efficient execution. However, upon reaching their destination, the team is faced with a startling realization. The ICBM was nothing but a decoy, and things have never been as they seemed to be before. The resulting failure leaves a mark beyond physical wounds. The facts surrounding the operation remain shrouded in mystery, but its impact is unmistakable. Rafa cannot help but be weighed down by the events of that night and all the questions that go unanswered. Torn apart by personal losses and plagued by doubts and revelations, Rafa returns home only to find that the mission he went out to carry is nothing compared to what is happening right now, in his own backyard. In light of the growing global tension, some unknown powers have been awakened, and Rafa finds himself facing a dilemma. To execute orders or defy the rapidly changing world order. He finds himself standing at the crossroads between life and death, good and evil, man and the universe itself.

Chapter 1 - #1 The Beginning.

March, 16 2007.

It was a dark night.

Squadron No. 6 sat in a row. They were in a stealth helicopter called the Nighthawk-Zero. Water trickled down on the window with a drizzle, indicating that it was raining.

The air that night was cold filled with thick fog. The helicopter was heading to the eastern part of the USSR, United State of Serov Republic.

As the leader of Squadron No. 6, Rafa keeps his eyes closeon his team, which consists of five members: Arnold Swiftout, Bruce Grayson, Ethan Lancaster, Sebastian Shawler, and Fox Solle

Their faces were anxious, it was very clear, especially since they were on a risky mission, a mission to identify an intercontinental ballistic missile, then neutralize it.

Rafa slowly lowered his head, looking down at his assault rifle that he was holding. The metal felt cold in his gloved hands.

Arnold sat next to Rafa. He let out a heavy sigh as sweat poured down his face. His role as a "Controller", the same as Rafa's, was to control the battlefield with his assault rifle.

Bruce sat beside Arnold. His role was a "Tanker", tasked to protect his teammates behind the black shield with a window that he carried, along with other breaching equipment. The weapon he carried was a shotgun

Fox, on the other hand, was an "Eagle". His task was to observe the battlefield and its conditions from afar. He would patiently track his targets before neutralizing them.

Same as Fox, Ethan is the second "Eagle" of the team. This Prodigy has the best skills than the rest.

Sebastian plays the role of a "Rusher". Like the name, his job was to rush in as the front line for the team. He would be the master of close range.

"Nighthawk-Zero, preparing to land."

Said the helicopter pilot which they heard from their earpiece communication device, ECD for short.

The helicopter slowly landed on a flat surface, far away from any settlement. The pilot said, "You may proceed with the mission, Squadron No. 6."

Rafa told all of his members to get off first. They nodded and immediately got off the helicopter. Rafa stepped out last.

They were dropped off on the side of an uninhabited and quiet mountain. Perfect for a stealth landing.

"Listen," said Rafa firmly. "We must remain undetected at all time. This is an important mission. Don't make any mistakes, not a single one."

They all nodded. They began to wore their Night Vision Goggles and started to follow Rafa.

Rafa moved down the mountain. Walking towards the "Leningrad" basecamp in Zoyan, a city in the USSR.

After thirty minutes of walking in the shadows, they finally spotted faint lights in the distance. It was the basecamp.

They slowly approached the basecamp from the side, staying unclear from the surveillance lights mounted along the high walls.

Using the dark forest for cover, Rafa and his squad were able to avoid any detection with relative ease.

They moved quietly, carefully, with no sudden sounds, and suspicious movements.

But then,

"Wait."

Rafa's unloud voice cut through the silence.

The squadron immediately froze.

In front of them, several USSR soldiers were on patrol, walking directly toward their position. What's worse that their weapons were equipped with active flashlights.

"Prone. Now."

Rafa's command came quickly through their ECDs.

The squad instantly dropped down and slowly crawled into the bushes, shifting to the right to remain unseen.

"Hold."

They waited, allowing the patrol to pass, evading risk of raising suspicion on the team.

When the soldiers moved on far from them, they got up and continued forward, walking closer to the basecamp.

Eventually, they reached the basecamp. An unguarded section of the wall that was too high to climb.

"Follow me."said Rafa, tracing along the wall

They walked around the wall, looking for any weaknesses of the wall. Meanwhile, Bruce shielded them, Fox and Ethan observe the enemy from afar.

Finally, they found a crack.

"Bruce, give me the breacher and sound killer," Rafa said while extending his hand to Bruce.

Bruce handed him both tools. Rafa passed the breacher to Arnold and activated the sound killer.

This device would absorb any sounds within a three meter radius for a limited amount of time.

Arnold planted the breacher into the crack, drilling it securely into the wall.

"Ten seconds," Rafa muttered.

For those ten seconds, the squadron took cover.

Bracing themselves as the breacher detonated.

The explosion was muted, swallowed by the sound killer. It created an opening, large enough for them to crouch through.

The squad slipped inside.

Infiltration successful.

Rafa leads them to a warehouse. The door was opened by them. the lighting was dim, at least it was safe, for now.

"Check this warehouse," Rafa said with a sigh.

Ethan and Fox immediately checked the things in the warehouse. They analyzed it. Was there any useful information here?

Ethan looked at Fox, Fox shook his head.

"Nothing important here."

Said Ethan to Rafa.

"There were only some equipment, ammunition, and–"

Footsteps behind him.

It was from the opened doorway.

He can't turn around in time.

Pssht, Pfft...

Two suppressed shots. Flew before his eyes.

Ethan turned around slowly.

Two USSR soldiers lay motionless on the ground. Blood streamed out of their heads.

"Copy that. Let's continue to move." Rafa replied calmly.

01:33

Squadron No. 6 continued to walk cautiously, navigating the dark corridor. Moonlight fell on their heads, faintly reflecting off their gear.

Arnold then spoke up. "What if we check the underground?"

"Of course," Fox replied. "but where's the entrance?"

"Should we split up?" asked Rafa, turning his body to face them.

"We don't have much time. It might be our best option," Bruce said while putting his hands on his waist.

"Isn't it a little bit risky?" said Fox.

Rafa exhaled. "Well then, let's split up into two teams of three. Who's with me?"

"Me and Bruce," Sebastian said.

"Alright. Sebastian, Bruce, follow me." Rafa started to move, leaving the other team behind.

#1 End.
