Rati Blaze
This was the character that beta tester 6585 decided their player character would be called. They did not spend that much time on the design or anything else. Just enough time to make the character not fully generic or default design. Although at the same time, they did not spend that much time doing anything other than make sure that their character was set to be an explorer, as that was what they were the most interested in when it came to The Decagon. They wanted to explore everything they could as fast as they could. Combat, role play, and all that other stuff did not interest them at all. All beta tester 6585 wanted to do was just explore. They had bored after exploring everywhere they wanted directly in reality. They wanted to explore the sky and even space, but those things were not realistic goals. So they settled for just exploring the virtual world instead. The vastness and depth of each world that they enter was what attracted them to it, as nothing else really caught their attention or interest. Thus, to them, something that is considered great world for the gameplay, story, etc., would be considered not even worth their time if the world itself was not explorable in detail enough. Vice versa, as a game that only had an explorable world but nothing else, it would be a great world for them.
As the beta tester who was the sixth thousand five hundred eighty fifth to join the beta test. Once they had done so and explored their personal name fully. The next place they went to explore was the facility itself. Looking around and anything they were able to gain access to. Though they were so focused on just looking around that they did not realize there was basically no area they were not allowed to explore within the facility where they were located in the second section of it. Everywhere and anywhere was a place they were allowed to go. They were even able to go towards the other section, but they decided not to do that just yet, as they had explored the outside area of their wing first instead.
The expanse of the outdoor area was so vast that beta tester 6585 spent the majority of the time waiting for the remaining testers to be chosen, just roaming around it on their own. The size, sheer, and vastness of it being what caught their eye and interest. Though once the other beta testers were selected, that is when they entered the world of Avelon for the first time, and as Rati, the first thing they did was what they always did in any game: they just started exploring, not the starting city of area 02, but instead just heading out into the world to see how far they could go before getting stopped.
Eventually, after quite some time, Rati managed to make it all the way to the region itself, and after traveling so long and being so captivated by Avelon, they were able to travel all the way to a different region entirely. They saw firsthand that the region really was different based on where a player ended up. Though rather than going forward, Rati turned around and then started heading in another direction, only to do so again once reaching a similar point that way. This happened six more times, as Rati had walked in all eight directions, only to find the same thing that caused them to turn around each and every time.
They were not located on the mainland anywhere within Avelon, but instead the entire second region was just one massive continent sized island surrounded by a vast ocean that spread out far beyond the horizon for as far as one could see. While other starting regions had vast areas that unknowingly made it so that even if one did make it to the edge of their starting region. That actually getting to another one would take travel through an area that in size and length mirrors the hallways that connected the ten wings of the facility itself.
Rati's discovery of there being no NPCs of any kind within Avelon was when they finally made it back to the starting city and discovered that everything anything was all being run and handled only by players. That's where they decided to keep being a mere explorer as they had been thus far, being the first player to let their Guild know that they were even on a continent sized island in the first place. No one else had ventured that far, or at least ventured that far and has come back yet to let them know that. The information was taken, and as an explorer, it was learned how the Blaze raised their level over time. Doing explorer quests for the Guild and anyone else who had quests for them that caught their interest to explore whatever they wanted to explore. Though there was one area that they never took or explored, as they always turned down every and any quest that had to do with that area.
One of the many second rate explorer was what Rati Blaze had become. Not considered first rate because of their refusal to explore anything to do with that one area alone. As a first rate explorer explored everywhere and anywhere they were asked to do as they would have do so, regardless of it being a quest or not. The fact that it was a quest was just icing on the cake for them, as it was an added bonus they were happy to take. Third rate and under explorers were those who did everything for the money, EXP, and/or anything else they could personally benefit from doing it. They were not considered true explorers but merely pro explorers instead. The difference being that a true explorer knows who they are and exploration courses through them as naturally as air flows through the lungs or blood through the body. Exploration was not something they did; it was something they lived for, as they would do it for free if the interest was high enough for them.
