Chapter 33 - Rati Blaze 04

Then it happened. It was quite some time after it was made common knowledge that they were trapped within The Decagon itself. That which was thought was that The Decagon was merely a game within the actual game itself. It was on that day that we would live in infamy for all and change, however, things were not just within facility or Avelon. No, it changed how things were going to be within the entirety of The Decagon itself.

It was on this day that IT happened.

A day like any other was how it started, though then it happened: everyone was removed from Avelon at once. It did not matter who they were or even where they were, as all ten thousand and nine beta testers were present once again with the facility all at the same time. Leaving everyone shocked as they all appeared within their rooms, they were forcefully logged out of the game by an unknown force to them all. Although before they could figure out what that force that did this to them were, all ten thousand and nine players were then forcefully logged into Avelon at the same time. It did not matter who they were or where they were at the time. Anyone and everyone who was in the facility was now within Avelon at all the same time to hear it being announced. The system that was running this game was making an announcement to all the players, regardless of their current state of mind.

This was when the nine demons were announced, as every player within Avelon was logged in and appeared randomly somewhere within their home region, making it much harder to figure out who was now a demon. After all, they were all logged into the Avelon randomly at the same time. It was also at this time that the nine demon made their first appearance as well. Each of them is a massive kaiju size demon that thrashes around or causes disasters for players. Though to the demons themselves, at least the ones that were acting on their own fully, they were just trying to get a hold of what had just happened to them. As they were now massive kaiju size demons, after all, they all thought they heard the announcements made only to them, though, as that is how they were informed of what The Decagon was going to be like for the nine of them now and how they were supposed to win the game.

Rati Blaze was one of the nine players randomly chosen at will to be one of the nine demons.

Their demon form was that of a Megalodon.

The ancient mega shark that basically was probably one of the closest things that the planet had in its past to a real life equalvent of a kaiju. Rati would eventually hear of the idiot that was Kuzas Iavko, the dragon demon. The idiot demon, as they were known to the other eight individually, as they did not meet up like they were all allies after becoming demons after all. They were just nine former players given the role of demon. They were to continue to pretend to be players still to carry out their own goal, just like now ten thousand players were to be carry out their own.

The idea of revealing oneself to the every player willingly was the considered the height of madness, arrogance, and overestimating the player base itself. As the demons that were able to properly think things over for even a second with a proper state of mind and world view. We were able to realize that they were at the top now, but the rules were set up so that they could not just steamroll ten thousand players on their own. The world of Avelon was too vast, and they were all scattered across it, as were the nine demons of the ten regions, too. Even wiping out one thousand players meant nothing if they would respawn before a demon could get to the next area. As the amount of working together with eight other demons, they did not even know. That was to be as hard as the task the players were given.

That's why Rati Blaze, as the now megalodon demon, thought that Kuzas was being an idiot who was drunk with power. Though it seems to match the personality type that they were displaying to everyone in The Decagon. As they were like that both within and without Aevlon, where the nine demons were demons of The Decagon, not merely Avelon itself. So they were demons in both layers of the game, but how their abilities and powers worked varied, and that was something that the smart ones capable of using their brains figured out pretty fast. The others were neither dumb nor smart because they were just acting out seemingly without full awareness of their actions. However, they were always in their massive kaiju forms, thus not exposing themselves to others, which is why.

Also, Rati noted how Kuzas was just placing a giant target on their back for the entirety of ten thousand players to focus on. Destroying both the main central area of the fourth one of The Decagon just made it even worse for them. Though Rati was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, as they were becoming the focal point for all the players, whether they knew or not, as well as care or not too. It did not matter, as all that did matter was that Kuzas was taking the heat off those of the demons, who were not being as stupid and, in the long run, as short sighted as they were.

As demons, there were systems and functions that only they had access to, which was how they might not know who the other eight demons are. But they could see a very basic shared fact about the nine of them if they wanted to. It was seemingly something put in place for them to keep track of things, as players had their own version. One that was personal just for the players themselves, and another that appears both within the starting area as well as the center of the corresponding wing of the facility as well. It was something that the demons themselves could not break, regardless of how hard they tried. The idiot dragon Kuzas had been the one to prove it, another reason they were allowed to just do as they please beyond just being scategoat for the other demons at the moment.
