Beta Tester 3390 was within their personal room in the eighth wing of the facility. They learned something interesting: no one was allowed within their own room other than themselves. The only one who had access to this room was the owner themselves. That other people could not come inside the room itself, being the occupant of the room, gave them the privacy to do whatever they wanted within their own personal room.
This was something that Beta Tester 3390 found very interesting, as well as freeing to a degree, as they did not have this kind of luxury back home, at least at their branch of the family, at least. The ability to have a place all to themselves without anyone having to come in at some point and see what they have inside. A place to just relax and not have to worry about there being anyone unexpectedly coming into their room. Either being while they were gone or while they were inside the room already.
There were many reasons why the people that were a part of this wing of the facility thought about why they were not being allowed entry into the rooms of others. There was the privacy issue, but what if there were people that they wanted to invite into the rooms of their own design and will? As others tried many things to let others come inside their own personal room, yet they could not seem to make it work. The doors were set up so that only the one person who was assigned to that room was allowed access to it. They could not even fake like they were about to enter the room and allow someone else to go instead. That just was not how the doors to personal rooms worked.
However, every other door seemed to work like doors normally do through the facility, though, which caused everyone to just start wondering about it so much after that point. Being a member of a family known for toxicology, they were able to tell numerous things about the facility from just roaming around it and using their traditional five sense to notice and detect things that were poisonous and toxic as well. This became like a sixth sense that was developed in the family to do this, and it was how they further developed the family craft over the years, though it was also kind of become their overtaste in things as well, as everything they were involved in had to be toxic and poisonous to some degree. It was both the family's greatest strength and its biggest weakness in the eyes of beta tester 3390.
Then they appear as if one cue of something after some time. The polar opposite to their toxicology-based family. A family that focuses on the healing arts just as much as their family focused on the toxins and poisons of all kinds. They were beta tester 3939, and they bragged about what their getting into the beta test with this number meant. Apparently, it had something to do with healing and whatnot. Though they then threw their arms around beta tester 3390's shoulder.
"Guess we both lucked out with no one being able to enter into our rooms here," they said in a loud voice that was only audible to them.
Outside of this beta test, both 3390 and 3939 were people who encountered each other a lot for different reasons, as they were always seemingly meeting up when carrying out business for their families and/or doing something they would always claim was for them. It was not something that either family would question, though, as they were always doing something aligned with their family creed, motto, and purpose. Neither was going against their family's long-standing and intended purposes, so they were just seen as two that just so happened to run into each other often, is all.
Beta Tester 3939 was from a family that was fully absorbed into the opposite side of things as their own family. If their family was about everything related to any to do with toxins or poison of any kind, as long as it had the moniker of one attached, they were interested in it. The family of beta tester 3939 they were of the opposite, as they were of the healing arts, and anything that had to do with the healing moniker attracted them with equal interest and attraction.
From their brief interactions with beta tester 3939 outside of this test itself, there was something different about them that seemed like they could connect. Connect in a way that they have not been able to with anyone within their family for years now. It was a strange feeling that they got from someone that was supposed to be the opposite of their own family in almost every way. Polar opposites that should attract, but for some strange reason were.
What annoyed Beta Tester 3390 the most was that 3939 was seemingly fully aware and acknowledged this strange thing that connected them both to each other more than anything or anyone else from within or without of their respective family. To a degree that was shocking, though it was kind of making sense that they were able to do that. Being from a family that specializes in toxicology of all kinds did not give them the best social skills and ability to interact with others, probably. Being toxic, poisonous, and even venomous was not just what they studied; it was what they were to various degrees and points. They were attracted and attracted it, after all, as that was what their family was all about, and it somehow managed to hold itself together through this as well. Beta tester 3390 was the worst of their family, but they also were not the best either.
Compared to beta tester 3939, that family was the complete opposite, and though they were like 3390 in that they were not the worst or the best within their own family. The baseline they were working with gave them a better default social skills and abilities to interact with others. It was just that 3939 knew why they interacted so well with them, keeping to themselves.
