On the other end of the line, Cian naturally heard Damian Fairchild's question.
His voice quickly hammered into Seraphina Quinn's ear from the other end of the phone:
"Darling, whether or not your brother makes it back to Aurelium safely depends entirely on you."
Seraphina Quinn didn't answer him.
She hung up on Cian and walked out of the bathroom.
She looked up at Damian Fairchild. Seeing that his complexion was clearly better than before, her worried heart relaxed slightly.
"I'm sorry." Seraphina Quinn chose her words carefully. "I can't go with you."
Damian Fairchild clenched his fists, his breathing becoming ragged, but his words were incredibly calm. "Just don't regret it."
Seraphina Quinn's throat tightened, and she said in a slightly hoarse voice, "I'm only staying here temporarily…"
Damian Fairchild cut her off. "Whether you're staying here for good or just temporarily makes no difference to me."
'Because, in the end, he was the one she had given up on.'
