Keifer's pov
Hospitals are annoying.
Not because of pain.
But because of rules.
"Don't move your arm too much."
"Take rest."
"Avoid strain."
I heard the same thing at least ten times in the last two hours.
"It's not even that bad," I said for the third time.
Jay looked at me.
That look.
"Say that again and I'll tell them to admit you again," she replied calmly.
I stopped.
She wasn't joking.
The doctor walked in again, checking the bandage. "It's a minor injury, but you need to be careful. No unnecessary movement, no lifting, and rest for a few days."
Jay nodded like she was the one responsible for my life.
"I heard that," she said.
"You didn't have to answer for me."
"I did."
The doctor smiled slightly and left.
Silence.
Then—
"Lecture over?" I asked.
She crossed her arms.
"No. That was just introduction."
I almost laughed.
Jay's pov
He is impossible.
Even after getting hurt, he's acting like nothing happened. And the worst part? He thinks I will just ignore it.
Not happening.
"You are not doing anything for the next few days," I said clearly while we were walking out.
"I can walk."
"That's allowed."
"I can also—"
"No."
He looked at me.
"…You didn't even let me finish."
"I already know what you were going to say."
He sighed.
But didn't argue further.
Good.
Evening – Back at the Mansion
The moment we entered, I thought it would be quiet.
Peaceful.
I was wrong.
"HE'S BACK—"
Felix's voice echoed through the entire house.
Before I could even react, everyone rushed towards us like a storm.
Ci.n almost slid across the floor trying to reach first. "MOVE, MOVE, MOVE—"
"You're not running a race," David said, pulling him back slightly.
Kit came forward, checking Keifer properly. "Are you okay?"
"I said I'm fine—"
"Don't say that," I interrupted.
Calix smirked. "He's already being controlled."
"Good," Freya added softly.
Edrix nodded. "He should be."
Drew was already recording. "Injured leader returns, emotional reunion, part one—"
"Stop recording," Keifer said.
"Content matters," Drew replied.
Mica walked in behind them. "This is why accidents happen. No one listens."
"Exactly," I said.
Keifer looked at me.
"You're enjoying this."
"A lot."
Within minutes, the entire house turned into chaos again.
But this time—
Different chaos.
"Sit here," blaster said, pushing a cushion behind Keifer.
"Don't move," Calix added.
"I wasn't even—"
"Sit."
He sat.
Ci.n came forward dramatically, placing his hand on Keifer's shoulder like he was giving a speech.
"You are our class president," he said seriously, "how can you do any work?"
Silence.
Then Felix burst out laughing.
"What is that line—"
"It's emotional," Ci.n replied.
David shook his head. "It's useless."
"No, it's true," Ci.n continued, turning to Keifer, "you will do nothing. We will do everything."
"Everything?" Keifer raised an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"Bring me water."
Ci.n froze.
"…Ask someone else."
Everyone laughed.
Jay's pov
I stood there watching all of them.
And for the first time—
I didn't feel overwhelmed.
I felt…
At home.
"Jay," Freya called, "can you pass that?"
I handed it to her.
"See," Felix said, "she's already working."
"Because you're not," I replied.
"Valid point."
The next one hour was honestly unbelievable.
Denzel arranged medicines properly like a responsible adult for once.
Eman actually cooked something light and healthy, but this time he didn't just keep feeding Mayo. Instead, he handed plates to everyone, saying, "Eat properly."
Mayo, for once, wasn't just eating. "Give him less spice," he said, pointing at Keifer.
Edrix checked the bandage again carefully.
Rory stood nearby, watching everything, then said, "If he moves too much, tell me."
"I am right here," Keifer said.
"And still not trusted," Rory replied.
Ci.n came and sat beside me again.
"You're not leaving, right?" he asked.
I looked at him.
"…Why?"
"Because if you leave, he will become unbearable."
"I am already unbearable," Keifer said from behind.
"No, you are worse without her," Ci.n replied instantly.
I smiled slightly.
One by one, the energy started going down.
Not completely.
But enough.
People started getting tired.
Sitting instead of jumping.
Talking instead of shouting.
Felix yawned dramatically. "I think I did a lot today."
"You did nothing," David replied.
"I gave emotional support."
"You stressed people."
Aries entered a little later.
Everyone quieted slightly.
He looked at Keifer.
Then at me.
"You okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine," Keifer replied.
Aries nodded.
Then looked at me again.
"Come here."
I followed him a little away.
"What?" I asked.
"You're staying?" he asked directly.
I paused.
"…If it's okay."
He looked back at Keifer.
Then at me again.
"You'll take care of him?"
"Yes."
"Properly?"
"Yes."
He sighed slightly.
"Fine."
That was it.
"You can stay."
I blinked.
"…That easily?"
"Not easily," he said, "I trust you."
That line—
Hit differently.
"And him?" I asked.
He looked at Keifer again.
"…I'll trust him."
End Moment
When I walked back, everyone was already preparing to leave.
Ci.n hugged me again. "You better update me."
"I will."
Felix: "If something interesting happens, call me."
David: "Don't call him."
Rakki smiled. "Take care."
Freya waved softly.
One by one—
They left.
The house became quiet again.
But this time—
It didn't feel empty.
Because I stayed.
And this time—
Not just because I wanted to.
But because I chose to.
I quickly went to him and pecked his lips.
" Be careful"
" Always"
