Martin, the God of Water, believed that strength lay in adaptation, not force. He woke up in a cold, stone cell on Planet P32. To his surprise, he wasn't alone. In the cell across from him was Antony, the M.A.C.A. agent who had been possessed. Antony appeared human again, weeping and claiming the Brown Ring had lost its power. He told Martin they were on a planet where the government executed all "sky-fallen" invaders.
Martin felt a pang of sympathy, but he remained cautious. Using his connection to a subterranean river flowing beneath the prison, he shattered the cell walls and led their escape into the city. However, as soon as they reached the open air, the trap was sprung. Antony's face twisted back into a mask of malice. The Brown Ring hadn't lost its power; it had simply been waiting for an open sky.
Comets began to rain from the heavens, guided by Antony's hand. Martin, exhausted from the jump across dimensions, struggled to hold them back with shields of high-pressure water. The city began to burn under the celestial bombardment. Just as Martin's strength flickered, the world once again ground to a halt. The mysterious man appeared, looking at Martin with interest. "I think you are the successor of Robert," he mused.
The man took the Brown Ring from Antony as if he were taking a toy from a child. As he disappeared, time snapped back. Antony, his body unable to handle the sudden withdrawal of the ring's dark energy, died instantly. Martin stood amidst the steam and rubble for only a second before the white light of the Supreme God's summons surrounded him, pulling him back into the stream of the multiverse.
