Chapter 1 - The ALPHAS Forsaken Luna: BUT SHE RETURNED AS A QUEEN

chapter 1:

I was never enough

The hall was so quiet. Not the peaceful kind of quiet…, the kind of quiet that makes your chest feel tight.

I stood there, holding my dress, trying not to look scared and nervous as I felt. This is my wedding day but it didn't feel like one to me.

No smiles.

No warmth.

No love. Just tension. And him. Alpha Adrian. my husband.

I slowly lifted my eyes to look at him… and immediately wished I hadn't. Cause of the way he was staring at me-Cold. Distant. Almost annoyed. Like I was a mistake. "I don't want this marriage." His voice wasn't loud, but it cut through the room like it didn't need to be. My fingers tightened around my dress. For a second, I thought I heard wrong. "What…?" my voice came out softer than I expected. "I said I don't want this," he repeated, this time looking straight at me. No hesitation. No regret. Just rejection. "You're human," he added, like that alone explained everything. "Weak. Fragile. You don't belong here… and you definitely don't belong beside me." Each word landed slowly. And painful. I felt it more than I showed. I swallowed it, forcing myself not to break in front of everyone. "Then why agree to this marriage?" I asked quietly. His jaw tightened. "I didn't agree. I was forced." That one… hurt the most. For a moment, I couldn't even respond. Because deep down, I already knew. I was never his choice. Still… he didn't know the truth. He didn't know what I really was. He didn't know that the bond I felt wasn't just in my head. That I wasn't just human. That I was his Luna. "I'll stay out of your way," I said finally, my voice barely above a whisper. "I won't cause any trouble." He didn't reply. He just looked away… like I wasn't even worth answering. And somehow, that hurt more than everything he said. "Hey… it's okay." A familiar voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I turned slightly and saw seraphina My best friend. The only person who had stood by me through everything. She gave me a small, comforting smile and held my hand. "I'm here for you," she said softly. I nodded, trying to believe her. Because right now… she was all I had. If only I knew. If only I knew she would be the reason everything would fall apart. That night… Everything changed. The drink she handed me. The smile on her face. The way my body suddenly felt weak. Heavy. Wrong. I remember dropping the glass. I remember trying to call her name. "Seraphina…?" But she didn't look worried. She didn't try to help. She just stood there… Watching. And then everything went dark. They thought I died that night. They thought they got rid of me. They were wrong.
