Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A New Training Target

At the center of the six-person table, the steaming eel pizza had only one slice left.

Paimon rubbed her full belly, yet her eyes were still fixed greedily on that last slice.

She could swear she had never eaten anything this delicious before!

Amber was tempted too.

But as a member of the Knights of Favonius, she had to maintain her image.

Besides, this was originally something Boss Jiang Chen made specially for Acting Grand Master Jean, wasn't it?

She had never heard before that Jiang Chen could make this kind of pizza.

Outrider Amber's instincts were very sharp.

Her eyes darted between the two of them as she silently pondered their relationship.

Jean, however, seemed not to notice her subordinate's thoughts.

She folded her hands on the table and said to Lumine,

"I already understand the situation roughly. Later, the Knights of Favonius will help you put up missing-person notices across the city."

"Thank you."

"It's simply our duty as the Knights. There's no need to thank us."

Jean spoke seriously.

"As Amber said, perhaps asking Jiang Chen might help you more."

"So… you're handing this matter over to me?"

Jiang Chen asked.

Jean looked a little troubled.

"Although it's not quite appropriate to leave the Knights' matters to you… if it helps Lumine…"

"There you go again. It's just a simple sentence."

"Then… please."

Jean said, her cheeks slightly red.

She stood up.

"There is still work at the Knights headquarters, so I'll be leaving now."

As she left, she casually took the last slice of pizza with her.

Paimon watched the slice disappear with Jean until it vanished from sight.

Only then did she reluctantly look away.

Jiang Chen said,

"I don't know much about your brother either. But I believe that one day, you two will meet again."

"Before that, I'll try my best to make you stronger."

"Stronger?"

Lumine hesitated slightly before speaking.

"Jiang Chen… boss, it seems like you know something?"

"You can just call me Jiang Chen."

He nodded and said,

"Since the one behind everything is an unknown god, then even if you meet your brother again someday, you'll need the strength to fight against a god."

"Otherwise… something like this might happen again."

Amber suddenly added,

"By the way, Lumine can use elemental power without a Vision, just like Boss Jiang Chen."

"Maybe that's a special trait of travelers from another world."

Jiang Chen didn't fully understand it either.

He had a system.

Lumine probably had it because of her constitution.

After all, Lumine and Aether were genuine interdimensional travelers who had journeyed through many worlds.

He himself was merely someone who had transmigrated here.

"You're right."

Lumine clenched her fist.

During the battle with the god, she had lost all her power.

Now she needed to train again from the beginning.

"So if you ever need help in the future, just tell me."

Jiang Chen extended his hand.

Lumine looked into his eyes and reached out to shake his hand.

At that moment, a long-awaited voice echoed in Jiang Chen's mind.

[System Notification]: A key training target has been added — Lumine.

Name: Lumine

Level: Lv2

Elemental Control: Anemo

Skills: Palm Vortex Lv1, Gust Surge Lv1

Jiang Chen's heart stirred.

According to the system's rules, now that Lumine had appeared, the world level could finally increase.

That meant he could level up again.

Previously, after helping Fischl reach level 20, he had been stuck because of the world level limit.

He realized he would have to wait until Lumine or Aether arrived.

So his plans to train others had been put on hold.

Up until now, Fischl was the only one.

That girl was currently out completing Adventurers' Guild missions, and usually wouldn't return for half a month or more.

Even if she did return, Lumine would need to level up first.

"Lumine, congratulations!"

Paimon spun around and placed her hands on her hips.

"With Jiang Chen helping you, it feels like you could walk sideways through Mondstadt!"

She looked quite smug.

"Of course not!"

Amber grabbed Paimon and pinched her cheeks.

"Even Boss Jiang Chen follows the Knights' rules. Paimon, you're basically encouraging trouble!"

"Uuuuugh!"

Paimon made a miserable sound.

Jiang Chen felt speechless.

Paimon really was as reckless as ever.

One day she might really end up being emergency food.

"Walking sideways might be too much," Jiang Chen said.

"But if you mention my name, things might be more convenient."

"Okay."

Lumine nodded.

It felt a little strange inside.

It almost felt like Jiang Chen had become her guardian.

Yet she didn't dislike that feeling.

When her brother was around, it had felt similar.

She asked curiously,

"How long have you been here, Jiang Chen?"

"About a year."

Jiang Chen replied.

"What!?"

Paimon, who had finally escaped Amber's grip, widened her eyes in shock.

"In just one year, Jiang Chen earned enough money to open such a huge restaurant in Mondstadt?!"

She stretched her arms wide to show something very big.

"Well, to be precise, I bought more than half the shares."

Jiang Chen said.

"Wow!"

Paimon became excited.

"Then can you teach us how to make money?"

Lumine was also very interested.

After traveling through many worlds, she knew that without money, it's impossible to survive in human settlements.

Besides, she really wanted to buy some equipment.

"Make money?"

Jiang Chen paused and said,

"I didn't go out to make money."

"Then how do you have so much money?"

Paimon asked in confusion.

"Oh, I raised a group of Mora mice before."

"They spit out tens of thousands of coins every day, so after accumulating for a while, I became rich."

Jiang Chen casually explained.

"Basically… I have a money-printing machine."
