Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: After the Dragon’s Attack

As Stormterror left, the black tornadoes raging through Mondstadt gradually dissipated.

Jiang Chen slowly landed on the ground.

Behind him, his Wind Glider made a cracking sound before shattering into pieces and falling apart.

"Jiang Chen, are you alright?"

Lumine glided down and asked worriedly.

"I'm fine."

Jiang Chen raised his hands and looked at them.

The skin between both of his thumbs and index fingers had split open, blood flowing steadily.

Knocking down a creature as massive as Stormterror meant he had endured an equally powerful recoil.

What he hadn't expected was that the power of the Four Winds Temples was so strong that Stormterror hadn't actually been seriously injured.

"You're hurt."

Lumine tore a piece from the hem of her skirt and carefully wrapped his hands.

Jiang Chen could only let her do it.

Originally he had planned to find Barbara to heal the injury quickly.

But now that Lumine was bandaging him, it would feel inappropriate to go elsewhere.

He couldn't just ignore her kindness.

"Boss Jiang Chen! Lumine!"

Amber ran over from the distance.

Looking at the shattered Wind Glider on the ground, she patted her chest in relief.

"Forcing a Wind Glider like that… it's lucky it didn't break midair."

The fight above Mondstadt had been seen by everyone in the city.

"Don't worry. I knew what I was doing."

Jiang Chen smiled.

Still wrapping the bandage, Lumine poked his wound angrily to signal him not to boast.

"Stormterror actually attacked the city itself…"

Amber looked around, her expression becoming heavy.

Even though Stormterror had left, dark clouds still hung over Mondstadt.

The surroundings were dim, and the usually gentle breeze now felt cold.

Clap… clap… clap…

Suddenly, the sound of applause echoed from the stairs leading up to the Statue of the Anemo Archon plaza.

Kaeya walked up while clapping.

"Boss Jiang Chen aside… this unfamiliar traveler actually has the strength to fight a dragon."

He looked at Lumine as if trying to see through her.

"Are you our guest… or the start of a new storm?"

"Who are you?"

Lumine asked.

"The Immortal Who Walks Across the Sea on Ice."

Jiang Chen answered from the side.

"Oh… I see."

Lumine nodded, though she didn't quite understand the title.

"Boss Jiang Chen! I told you not to casually give me nicknames and introduce them to others like that!"

Kaeya almost stumbled.

He quickly corrected himself.

"Kaeya, Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius."

"Oh, hello. My name is Lumine."

"Is Lumine… one of Boss Jiang Chen's people?"

Kaeya asked, noticing how carefully she was bandaging Jiang Chen's hands.

Lumine nodded.

After all, Jiang Chen had told her that mentioning his name in Mondstadt would bring her help and convenience.

Sure enough, she noticed the suspicion in Kaeya's eyes quickly fade.

Amber kindly explained Lumine's situation—how she had been separated from her brother.

"I see."

"Welcome to Mondstadt. Unfortunately, you arrived at a rather troublesome time."

"I won't ask too many questions for now."

"But for driving away Stormterror, allow me to thank you both on behalf of the Knights."

Kaeya placed one arm across his chest in salute.

"Then where's the reward?!"

Paimon placed her hands on her hips and demanded confidently.

Earlier, helping Amber clear a Hilichurl camp had earned them a Wind Glider and a promised meal of Honey Roast Carrots with Meat.

"Hmm… Mondstadt's specialty, Honey Roast Carrots with Meat?"

Kaeya asked.

"Again?"

Paimon waved her hand.

"I don't mind! That means we'll have two portions!"

"Hahaha!"

Kaeya couldn't help laughing at the little floating companion.

After calming down, he said,

"If it's convenient, could Boss Jiang Chen and Lumine come to the Knights headquarters?"

"The Acting Grand Master asked me to invite you."

"Jean?"

Lumine looked toward Jiang Chen.

"Yes, we can go."

Jiang Chen agreed.

He glanced at his hands.

Lumine's bandaging skills were truly… questionable.

They looked like rice dumplings, completely preventing him from holding a sword.

Lumine also seemed to realize the bandage looked messy, and her face turned slightly red.

Knights of Favonius Headquarters

Acting Grand Master's Office

"Jean, don't rush."

Since you're meeting Jiang Chen and the traveler as the Acting Grand Master, you should stay properly in your office."

Leaning lazily on the railing in the library area, Lisa spoke calmly.

Jean, who had already reached the door, reluctantly walked back.

"Stormterror seems to still be active outside the city. After meeting them, I want to quickly—"

"No need to rush. I'll help too."

Lisa interrupted her and glanced toward the door.

"Look, they're already here."

Footsteps sounded outside.

Kaeya pushed the door open.

"Acting Grand Master, I've brought them."

"They're finally here."

Jean's previously anxious mood eased slightly.

She smiled with relief.

"Lumine, we meet again so soon."

"Mm."

"This is Lisa, the librarian of the Knights."

Jean introduced her.

Lisa wore a purple-blue mage outfit, her long brown hair tied in a side ponytail.

Her emerald-like eyes and voluptuous figure gave her a mature charm.

Even Lumine blushed slightly when she saw her.

"Hello," Lumine said politely.

"Oh my, such a good child coming to help because we're short-handed?"

Lisa smiled warmly.

"So cute."

"And Jiang Chen…"

Lisa walked over, draping an arm across his shoulder and leaning close to whisper near his ear.

"So you finally decided to come see me?"

"Ahem."

At the same time, Jean and Lumine both coughed awkwardly in the room.
