Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A New Traveler in Mondstadt

"…"

Jean immediately understood what Jiang Chen meant and suddenly felt a little guilty.

"You just came back from outside. You haven't had lunch today either, right?" Jiang Chen asked.

"How did you know?"

"Do you think I don't know you?" Jiang Chen shrugged.

"If you had stayed at the Knights of Favonius headquarters today, you wouldn't have specifically taken the time to come here. You must've just passed by on the way."

"Am I really that easy to predict?"

Jean fell into deep thought, wondering if this predictability might give the Fatui or the Abyss Order a chance to set an ambush.

But with her strength, it might also be the perfect opportunity to defeat them and foil their plans.

"What would you like to eat?"

Jiang Chen gestured for her to sit down.

"I'll make something special to reward you."

"I've always been receiving your care…"

"Don't say such distant things, okay?"

"Then… thank you."

Jean brushed a strand of hair beside her cheek and said,

"Pizza."

"Same rule as usual—don't tell Margaret."

Jiang Chen said.

"Mm, I know."

Jean smiled slightly.

Margaret was the owner of the Cat's Tail Tavern, which was right next door to the Good Hunter.

The tavern's most popular food was pizza.

If Margaret found out the Good Hunter also made pizza for guests, it might cause some business disputes.

"Then let's use eel. I saved it especially for you."

As Jiang Chen spoke, he grabbed a long fish from a water bucket in the corner.

"Eel?"

Jean had never seen this type of fish before.

"A few days ago, a servant from Diluc's winery happened to catch it in the lake below Dawn Winery. Since they didn't know if it was edible, they didn't dare cook it, so I bought it."

Jiang Chen gathered Anemo energy in his hand.

In the blink of an eye, the eel's life ended, and he began preparing it.

Jean hesitated.

"Eel… pizza?"

"Correct."

"As a traveler from another world, I know some knowledge that people in Teyvat don't."

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Mondstadt.

"The city of wind and dandelions, the free city under the protection of the Knights—travelers, welcome to Mondstadt."

A girl wearing red clothes, with long chestnut hair and a red bunny-ear ribbon on her head, was enthusiastically introducing the city to a blonde girl and her floating companion.

Her tone was full of pride, making the newly arrived travelers feel hopeful.

"Wow! Finally we don't have to sleep in the wild anymore!"

The floating mascot spun excitedly in the air.

But soon she noticed something strange.

"Amber, why do the people in the city look so down?"

"Everyone's worried about Stormterror lately."

Amber placed her hands on her hips confidently.

"But as long as Jean is here, everything will be fine."

"Jean?"

"She's the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius—Mondstadt's protector."

Amber said proudly,

"With Jean leading us, even a disaster like Stormterror can definitely be defeated."

The little mascot looked impressed.

"Amber really admires Jean!"

"Of course. But before we go to the Knights headquarters, we'll stop somewhere first."

"Where?"

"The Good Hunter Restaurant."

"A restaurant? Does that mean food?!"

The mascot's eyes sparkled.

"Paimon gets especially excited whenever food is mentioned," Amber laughed.

"It's not even dinner time yet!"

Amber continued,

"The owner of the Good Hunter is also a traveler from another world, just like Lumine. Maybe you can get some help from him."

"Another traveler from another world?"

The blonde girl, called Lumine, suddenly looked a little nervous.

"Yeah. But it's definitely not your brother."

Amber waved her hand.

"Boss Jiang Chen has black hair and black eyes, and he's pretty handsome."

She had already heard Lumine describe her brother earlier outside the city.

"Let's go."

"And later I have a gift for you, as thanks for helping me clear out that Hilichurl camp."

"Hey! If there's a gift, I should get one too!"

Paimon immediately panicked.

"It's something Paimon can't use," Amber said.

"But tonight I'll treat you to Mondstadt's specialty—Honey Roast Carrots with Meat!"

"Waaah~~"

Paimon almost started drooling.

"We're here."

Amber pointed to the Good Hunter signboard.

Just then, she noticed the second-floor window open, so she shouted:

"Boss Jiang Chen! There are two travelers from another world here—do you want to meet them?"

"Oh?"

Jiang Chen looked outside.

At that moment, his eyes met Lumine's brown eyes.

He was slightly stunned for a moment.

Then he smiled gently and nodded in greeting.

Only afterward did he reply to Amber:

"Come upstairs. You came just in time—you're in for a treat."

"What does 'in for a treat' mean? Is there something delicious?!"

Paimon said excitedly as she floated up the stairs beside Amber and Lumine.

"The Acting Grand Master Jean is here too!"

Amber was startled.

"Amber, don't be rude."

Jean said calmly.

She placed one hand on her chest and greeted Lumine and Paimon.

"Mondstadt welcomes you, travelers carried by the wind."

"Hello."

Seeing that the highly praised Acting Grand Master was actually such a beautiful woman, Lumine felt surprised.

Then she looked toward the person who had caught her attention—the owner of the Good Hunter.

"Hello. My name is Lumine."
