It was a quiet village called Chandanpur. One night, a soft drizzling rain was falling. The sky was cloudy, and the only sound around was the gentle rain. Near the road stood an old banyan tree that everyone in the village avoided.
Around 11 PM, Rahul was walking home. Suddenly, he saw a girl standing under the banyan tree. She was wearing a white saree, and her hair was wet from the rain, covering part of her face.
Rahul felt a little scared but still asked,
"Why are you standing here alone?"
The girl slowly lifted her head. Her eyes looked pale, and she had a strange smile on her face. In a soft voice she said,
"My home… was on this road."
Rahul looked confused and asked,
"What do you mean was?"
The girl didn't answer. She only pointed toward an old broken house beside the road.
Just then, lightning flashed ⚡ and the whole place lit up for a moment. In that flash, Rahul noticed something terrifying… the girl's feet were not touching the ground.
Rahul stepped back in fear. When he looked again, the girl had disappeared.
Only the soft drizzling rain remained… and in the wind, Rahul felt as if someone was whispering:
"I am still… on this road." 👻
