Architect of a New Dawn

Arris wakes to find his body broken on alien grass. His foot, his fingers lie separate and steaming. A tear in reality, snaps shut ahead of him. Two suns burn overhead. Survival begins with blood. A voice, calm, amused, impossible, guides him through a world that devours the weak. Five years. One destination. To survive and grow stronger, he must hunt the beasts of this world and claim their lives as his own. But with each kill he is drowned in foreign memories, foreign instincts, foreign desires. He is losing himself. He was never meant to be here. A synthetic path stitched to his soul, cursed with unearned gifts, Arris is not cog in a larger machine. Rather, he is an architect of the machine itself. And someone, somewhere, is counting on him to endure.
