On the other side of the video call, Skylar Morrison stood beside Don Lowell. "This is what the woman you love is really like."
"Is this an act?"
"You know the truth, so why are you still lying to yourself?" Skylar Morrison said.
"It shouldn't be like this. I thought I was so close to marrying her."
'I never thought I'd end up being the one to raise another man's child. She was probably just deceiving me. She still planned to have the baby with that other man and was only tricking me to get my help. That's all it was.'
'The child was just one more thing to make me trust her, nothing more.'
"That baby isn't even yours, but it became a chip to use against you. I never thought you'd let love blind you to this degree. I thought at least..."
Skylar Morrison suddenly choked up, a flicker of sorrow and disappointment in his eyes. "At the very least, I thought you would never betray your brothers."
