"Where's your dad?"
"What, miss me?" Alaric Davenport pushed open the door, walked over to her, and sat down, planting a kiss on her forehead.
"You've had Mom to yourselves for long enough. It's my turn, don't you think?"
As the two children obediently said their goodbyes and left the room, Rosalind Lowell was still a bit shocked. "How did you manage to bribe them?"
"I just told them that if they behaved, I'd take them out to play once you're all better."
Rosalind Lowell smiled. "Those people…"
"They've all been taken care of."
"The wealthy ones… they'll get out on bail, won't they?"
Alaric shook his head. "That depends on the circumstances."
As he spoke, he stroked her head again. "You don't have to worry. From now on, just do whatever makes you happy."
"Mm-hmm."
"It's a good thing the bodyguard reacted so quickly last time. Her shot went wide. Don't do anything so foolish again."
