Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Chapter 1 The Final 'No' Was The Last Straw (Continued)

Lin Feng blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of the strange room around him. The walls weren't white—they were a soft, metallic gray. Strange symbols glowed faintly along the edges of the floor. A low hum filled the air, vibrating in his chest like a warning.

"What… where am I?" he whispered, voice barely more than a croak. His hand instinctively went to his forehead again, but the pain was gone. Not just gone—replaced by a tingling, almost electric sensation that ran down his arms.

He took a cautious step forward. The floor beneath him didn't feel solid. It shifted, like water frozen mid-motion. Panic surged.

"Lin Feng…" a voice echoed. Not from behind him, not from the walls. It seemed to come from inside his head.

He froze. "Who… who's there?"

No answer. Just the hum, growing louder, pulsing like a heartbeat. Then, with a sudden jolt, the room tilted violently, and Lin Feng fell to his knees.

A door appeared before him. Not materialized—he saw it, clear as day, and yet it hadn't been there a second ago. Its handle gleamed like polished silver, inviting him, daring him.

"Do I… go in?" he muttered.

Before he could decide, the words came again in his head, sharp and commanding:"Ten seconds. Choose wisely."

Lin Feng's heart pounded. He didn't understand. He hadn't even gotten a chance to sober up properly, and now… this.

Another step, and the world shimmered. Everything rewound.

It was like déjà vu. He was back in the alley where he had passed out last night, the faint stench of alcohol still lingering in the air. Only this time, he remembered… everything. Every failure, every rejection, every pang of loneliness.

And now… it wasn't just life. Something bigger, something far more dangerous, had begun.

Lin Feng clenched his fists. "Alright…" he muttered. "Let's see what this game really wants from me."
