Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Broken Ancient Coin

In the antique market, there is a special kind of stall. A white cloth, a bamboo basket on top, and only one thing in the basket: ancient coins.

Authenticity aside, the rules were simple. The ancient coins were divided into several piles, and the unit price for each pile was the same; once you decided, you paid and left. However, although most were genuine ancient coins, very few actually had collection value.

Nevertheless, only two types of people came here. The first type came with the hope of finding a hidden gem. The second type were those with a hobby for collecting ancient coins.

No matter which type, the stall owner welcomed them.

The former were willing to spend money, while the latter bought frequently.

For example, the slightly chubby young man squatting in front of the stall right now belonged to the latter category.

"I say, Yuan Bao, why have you been picking for so long this time? You even drove away that old man who wanted to find a hidden gem just now. You aren't expecting me to treat you to lunch, are you?" The stall owner joked as he used the fan in his hand to fan the young man.

The young man casually pushed the fan aside. "Don't mess with me. I'm only two coins short of a full set! If I really can't find them before noon, believe it or not, I'll really make it your treat!" He glared at the stall owner, but he wasn't truly angry; it was just a joke between friends.

Originally, the two weren't very close, but after he had come here to buy ancient coins over a dozen times, they became friends.

"Fine! Young Master Qian, you've patronized my small stall many times, and your spending has exceeded a thousand. I'll give you a big 'thank you' reward: the lamb skewers at the street corner, I'll let you eat your fill!" The stall owner laughed and continued fanning, looking up at the sky.

"How strange, they didn't say it would rain today! Why is it so sweltering?"

The young man continued rummaging through the pile of coins when suddenly, a dark yellow ancient bronze coin appeared before his eyes. Curiously, he picked it up and carefully examined the characters on it.

"I say, how do you even have this kind of thing here?" The young man waved the copper coin in his hand and looked at the stall owner.

The stall owner took it and glanced at it. "Well! It must have accidentally gotten mixed in. If you want it, I'll give it to you. 'Attracting Wealth and Treasures'—it's a nice sentiment."

The young man rolled his eyes at him, casually took the copper coin, and placed it at the very bottom of the coins in his hand.

After another twenty minutes, the young man finally found the coin he wanted, and a rare smile appeared on his face.

"Heh! It wasn't in vain that I squatted for so long. Check out..." The young man smiled and tried to stand up.

But everyone knows that after sitting or squatting for a long time, suddenly standing up can cause dizziness. Coupled with the sweltering weather and the fact that the young man was a bit chubby, he didn't manage to get up in one go!

His center of gravity was unstable, and he sat right back down.

Dizzied and with blurred vision, he felt as if the World were spinning.

"Hey, are you okay?" The stall owner had just taken out his payment code when he saw the young man falling backward. It didn't look like he had just failed to stand up normally!

"I..." The young man's hand landed on the ground, and a sharp little pebble happened to scratch a bloody mark on his hand, though not a single coin in his hand fell.

But neither the young man nor the stall owner noticed that the rest of the coins in the young man's hand turned into wisps of golden light and merged into that copper coin with the four characters "Attracting Wealth and Treasures."

Immediately afterward, the copper coin emitted a faint glow and followed the bleeding wound, turning into golden light and entering his body.

Although it took a while to describe, only a few seconds had actually passed.

By the time the stall owner stepped over the stall and reached the young man's side to help him up, he realized the young man's condition was truly wrong.

He felt the young man's pulse with his hands, and the stall owner was so startled that he let go!

Douluo Star, a planet different from Earth.

On the planet, many continents were scattered across the vast ocean. On one of the larger continents, civilization was still in a state similar to ancient Earth.

However, there were some differences because this World possessed extraordinary power.

Spirits are a type of power that everyone on this planet possesses. According to legend, a Spirit is the condensed product of bloodline and soul essence.

Long ago, after the first Spirit Master with Innate Full Spirit Power killed a wild beast and gained powerful strength by triggering the ring of light born from the beast's body, humans began to become the protagonists of this continent.

With the passage of time, the Spirit Master system was perfected, and clear strength level divisions were established.

Once humans had the powerful strength to ensure the safety of their race's survival, internal strife inevitably began.

After the chaotic continental hegemony, the situation on the continent was a tripartite division of three major powers.

The Heaven Dou Empire in the north, the Star Luo Empire in the south, and the Spirit Hall located between the two.

Spirit Hall evolved from the original Holy Church and is a Spirit Master organization that helps ordinary people awaken Spirits and records them. It also provides a certain subsidy to Spirit Masters who do not exceed the Spirit Elder level.

Because being a Spirit Master is one of the few paths for commoners on this continent to move upward, Spirit Hall has a very good reputation among commoners and controls a large number of high-level Spirit Masters. Furthermore, because the territory it actually controls is only near Spirit City—totaling less than half a province in area—and because the first Supreme Pontiff swore never to participate in continental hegemony, it was tolerated by the Two Great Empires.

However, with the development of Spirit Hall, there were even many Titled Douluo—the top combat power of the continent—within Spirit Hall. Their numbers far exceeded those of the Two Great Empires, which is why the Two Great Empires did not dare to easily take action against Spirit Hall.

"So, I fainted and transmigrated." A five or six-year-old boy closed the book in his hand.

He was the young man who had fainted in front of the ancient coin stall; when he woke up, he had already become this child on the Douluo Continent.

He was a college student and had naturally read web novels. He had read the famous work written by this grandmaster-level author, though a long time had passed since then.

"Even though this is a dangerous World, I should be able to cultivate, right? After all, as a transmigrator, even if I don't have Innate Full Spirit Power or twin spirits, cultivating shouldn't be a problem!" he muttered.

Just then, a woman pushed open the door. "Son, why are you still reading? Get ready; your father is taking you to Spirit Hall today to awaken your Spirit!"

"Coming, Mom." Jumping off the chair, the boy ran to his mother of this life with a smile and took her hand.

He felt that his luck had been very good so far. First, he was still male; second, his name hadn't changed—it was still Jin Bao; third, the conditions of this family were quite good.

They were a merchant family in a small city that was nominally part of the Star Luo Empire and not too far from Spirit City. Although they certainly couldn't compare to those great clans or Sects, in this small city, aside from Spirit Hall and the City Lord, their family was the wealthiest!

With such a family, after awakening a Spirit, at least there shouldn't be any problems with cultivation or life!

As he was thinking, the carriage had already stopped.

They had arrived at Spirit Hall.
