Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Fight (Part 2)

Originally, Jin Bao hadn't planned to join the excitement. In his view, he might as well spend that time on Cultivation. However, Balu kept winking at him, and school life had indeed been a bit boring lately. "Fine! Let's go take a look in a bit." After finishing the food in front of him, Jin Bao nodded in agreement.

"By the way, is your Spirit really a mutated one? Why do you eat so much?" Balu glanced at Jin Bao's stomach. Even though he ate twice as much as Balu, his stomach was still flat. He really didn't know where all that food Jin Bao ate had gone.

"Don't ask me, I'm wondering too!" Speaking of eating, Jin Bao felt a bit depressed. As time went on, his appetite had also grown.

This week's appetite was a bit more than last week's, and who knows what next week will be like.

Even though the food looked like quite a lot, he felt nothing at all after eating, as if something else was constantly helping him digest it.

Thinking of this, Jin Bao looked at his right hand. Could it be because of his Spirit? Since the Spirit was incomplete, it needed a large amount of nutrients to be converted into spirit power.

Or perhaps, this could gradually complete his Spirit!

But in the next moment, Jin Bao abandoned the latter guess. That was basically impossible!

Well, if he eats a lot, then he eats a lot! Anyway, his family could afford to feed him.

"How has your Cultivation been going lately?" Jin Bao suddenly asked.

Balu: "Cultivation again. You've already asked me more than thirty times this week. I can feel that in another week, I'll be able to Breakthrough to rank eight! What about you?"

He looked at Jin Bao. In his view, since Jin Bao worked so hard on his Cultivation, his speed should be faster than his own!

Jin Bao: "Don't mention it. I'm still a bit away from rank nine. I estimate that by the time we meet next Monday, I'll be able to reach rank nine."

He felt the reason he ate so much was that his Cultivation speed was much faster than his father had estimated. For the spirit power from rank eight to rank nine at least, he was ahead of schedule by at least ten days.

Soon, after easily running three laps under the teacher's lead, the students of the Noble Class, except for a very few individuals, all walked together to a remote clearing.

There, in a field that had already been drawn out, a total of six people were divided into three groups and stood ready.

At this time, the student leading the Noble Class took a step forward and looked at the three groups.

"I know what you want, and they know too. But you need to demonstrate your value. Spirit Masters, especially Battle Soul Masters, have only one way to show their value, and that is through combat!"

At this time, two other noble children also stepped forward. "If you want to gain our recognition, show us your strength and defeat every one of your opponents!"

"Each match will last ten minutes. The three losers will engage in a brawl to fight for the last chance. Only the final person will be qualified to stand behind us."

"What! They're actually treating us like their subordinates. How arrogant!" Balu grumbled dissatisfiedly in a low voice, but he didn't dare let those three hear him. Even a single gesture from them would make people willing to curry favor with their families help suppress Balu's family business.

After hearing the words of the three noble children, the six people over there didn't show any dissatisfaction. Instead, they looked at each other with eyes full of hostility.

Jin Bao could guarantee that their relationship might have been decent before, but following the words of the three noble children, they would never be friends.

Six people, all with spirit power that had reached rank seven. Two Beast Spirits and four Tool Spirits.

Rain Swallow, Scorpion, Bow and Arrow, Iron Staff, Scimitar, and Iron Claw. These were the Spirits of the six people.

"Hey, which one of them do you favor?" Balu nudged Jin Bao's arm and asked in a low voice.

Jin Bao thought for a moment. "The Scorpion or the Iron Claw, I suppose."

Balu: "Why not the Bow and Arrow? That's the only Spirit among them capable of long-range attacks! Without the use of Spirit Abilities, it has a huge advantage."

Jin Bao rolled his eyes at him. "Don't you pay attention in class? In a place like this, the distance between the two sides is no more than thirty meters. Whether it's the Rain Swallow, the Scimitar, or the Iron Claw—these agility-attack system Spirits—under the physical enhancement, it's very easy to dodge arrows and then move into close-quarters combat!"

"That makes sense! So you're saying he's doomed? You favor that Scorpion; it couldn't be because of his poison, could it? I'm telling you, his current toxins can only make someone's limbs go numb." Balu glanced at the Spirit Master with the Scorpion Spirit, who had already begun fighting the Spirit Master with the Bow Spirit.

Just as Jin Bao said, as long as he dodged one attack, he could enter the range for close-quarters combat. Then, with the poison stinger on his tail aimed at the opponent's neck, the battle was over.

"Even if it can only numb limbs, that state will last for more than ten minutes, right? So after being poisoned, how will they fight the next match?" Jin Bao looked at Balu.

"You're so amazing! Why didn't I think of that!" Balu said, clapping his hands.

The toxin doesn't necessarily have to be used; it's just a threat, a threat to the opponent's future plans.

Therefore, as long as this Scorpion Spirit Master used the poison stinger on his tail to make threatening attacks, he could draw the opponent's attention. Then, while they were distracted, he could use his enhanced hands to attack the opponent until he won.

Even if the opponent really intended to go down together, the basic Spirit effects on his body could provide some protection. This was one of the advantages of Beast Spirits.

Sure enough, after the Scorpion Spirit Master took the first round, he used the tactic Jin Bao mentioned to complete his victory in the second round.

His spirit power and stamina weren't consumed much. So, by the time the third and final deciding round came, he tanked the opponent's attack to inject the toxin into their body and finally secured the victory.

"Well then, the match is over. Congratulations, you will receive the opportunity to join us. State your name!" the noble child standing at the very front said in a condescending tone.

The Scorpion Spirit Master retracted his Spirit and knelt before the noble child.

"Lyca, Spirit: Scorpion, spirit power rank seven. I offer you my loyalty."

The noble child used a gloved finger to tap his head. "I accept your loyalty."

The remaining five people looked at this person with eyes full of envy, jealousy, and hatred.

"The show's over, let's go." Jin Bao shrugged. Perhaps because he didn't have a spirit ring, besides the clash between Spirits being able to stir a hint of excitement in him, he didn't think there was anything worth seeing.

Especially the final scene; he even felt a bit disgusted.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Balu looked at the fast-departing Jin Bao and hurried to catch up. The noble children also looked over here, but after seeing it was Balu, none of them cared.

"Disperse!" The three noble children waved their hands, and only then did the other students leave.
