Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Choice

The blue light represented Jin Bao's Innate Spirit Power. This crystal ball was specifically used to test children during Spirit Awakening, with a limit of rank ten. There were standard scales on the crystal ball's surface to prevent the light from affecting observations.

Seeing the spirit power display exceed half, Jin Ge almost jumped up. Beside him, his wife, Jin Bao's mother, hugged him directly, excitedly covering her mouth to stop herself from making a sound that might defile this sacred place.

"Innate Spirit Power rank eight; it can be said his future is limitless." Molu retracted his Spirit and placed the crystal ball back on the table behind him.

"Congratulations to you both. If this child is cultivated well, he will at least become a Spirit Emperor."

As a staff member in a Branch Hall specifically responsible for Spirit Awakening, Molu naturally knew a lot about this.

Innate Spirit Power is divided into ten ranks. Having Innate Spirit Power means one can cultivate. However, the amount of Innate Spirit Power represents a person's growth limit under normal circumstances.

Generally, people below rank three might never reach the Spirit Elder realm in their lives, and the Spirit Elder realm is a watershed stage for a Spirit Master. Only when one's strength reaches above Spirit Elder can they be considered a powerhouse.

Innate Spirit Power at the third, fourth, or fifth rank represents a chance to reach Spirit Ancestor or Spirit King. Such strength is already enough to protect a family's legacy, because their descendants' Spirits will likely be inherited, and they will possess Innate Spirit Power.

In the Spirit Master's world, the strength of a Spirit King also represents the middle tier.

Further up are the true experts, who receive excellent treatment wherever they go.

With Innate Spirit Power above rank five, one can at least reach the Spirit Emperor level. At rank eight, with enough resources and education, one could even reach the Spirit Douluo level.

As for becoming a Titled Douluo, there is even a possibility of trying for it.

"Thank you, Grandmaster Molu!" Jin Ge said as he stepped forward, hugged his son, and then set him down into his wife's hands.

Immediately after, Jin Ge took a card out from his robes; it was a gold soul coin card.

"Grandmaster, thank you for helping my child complete his Spirit Awakening. This is..."

Molu reached out his hand. "Take it back! I can't decide the Spirit or the Innate Spirit Power. Next, we need to perform the Spirit registration. Follow me." He said as he walked toward the door.

Jin Ge awkwardly took back the gold soul coin card, but when he turned around, his face was full of smiles again.

"My good son, let's go! Let's register your Spirit!" Jin Ge and his wife each took one of Jin Bao's hands and followed Molu's footsteps.

Soon, the four of them arrived at an office upstairs.

"Kados, I've brought someone for Spirit registration." Molu knocked on the door and pushed it open directly.

Kados looked up. "It seems the child you awakened today is quite good! You actually brought them here personally. Don't leave later; help me organize the submitted materials. Those two rascals left this year's materials here and ran off, saying something about cultivating. Who doesn't know they went drinking?"

Jin Ge led Jin Bao to the desk. "Grandmaster Kados, this is my son, Jin Bao!"

Kados gave Jin Ge a glance, hummed in acknowledgment, and then looked at Jin Bao. "Spirit, spirit power."

"Spirit: Money. Innate Spirit Power: Rank eight."

Jin Bao's crisp voice reached Kados's ears, making Kados take another look at him. "I was wondering why you, Molu, would specifically bring someone over. You're eyeing the recommendation slot in my hands, aren't you! But this kind of Spirit is truly the first time I've seen one like this; it's different from previous Gold Coin Spirits. Innate rank eight—let's count it as a Mutated Spirit!"

After saying that, he quickly handed a small booklet to Jin Ge. This was the proof from Spirit Hall, which would also be used when registering spirit rings at Spirit Hall in the future.

Molu said, "Kados, since you haven't used that slot anyway, why not give it to me? This child's talent is so good, don't you want him to join our Spirit Hall Academy?"

These words reached the ears of the three members of the Jin family. Jin Bao himself didn't feel much; as long as he wasn't completely tied to Spirit Hall, there would be no danger in the end. And even if he joined Spirit Hall now, he could find a chance to leave later, couldn't he?

As for helping Spirit Hall change its fate against the heavens, he didn't have that idea right now. After all, opposing the protagonist makes even a transmigrator nervous! In his memory, the impression of that protagonist known as the Grand Magister teaching transmigrators a lesson was very deep!

However, these words sounded different to Jin Ge. Although Spirit Hall Academy was good, as a businessman—and a top businessman in this city—Jin Ge naturally had his own network.

"Haha, thank you both, Grandmasters, for your help today. Another day, I'll treat you both to a good meal at Fengweiju. We'll be leaving now; we won't disturb your work." Saying this with a constant smile, he led Jin Bao and his wife away.

Kados shrugged. "See? They might not appreciate your kindness. You should wait until the city's children have their Spirit Awakening and pick a suitable one then! There's only half a month left; can't you even wait that long?"

Molu curled his lip and sat to the side to help organize the documents.

On the way home, Jin Bao suddenly asked, "Dad, why didn't you let me go to Spirit Hall Academy?"

Jin Ge said, "Yuan Bao! Do you know what kind of children Spirit Hall Academy is open to? It's for those families who can't afford good schools but whose children have some talent. Although Spirit Hall has many Spirit Masters, it's not necessarily the best. And I, your father, will send you to the best Junior Academy here. When the time comes, if you work hard, you might even enter the Star Luo Royal Academy!"

The good academy Jin Ge spoke of was actually a nominal Noble Academy backed by the Star Luo Empire's officials. It was a subordinate academy of a true Noble Academy. Those excellent academies were qualified to take exams for the Noble Academy, while the education for ordinary students was just average.

However, the only advantage was that most of the children in such academies came from wealthy or powerful families.

Building a network from a young age was the main goal of those parents.

The students who came here to study didn't necessarily have great talent.

"Star Luo Royal Academy? That's so far away!" Jin Bao's mother frowned. She didn't doubt whether her son could get in; in her view, the potential of rank eight Innate Spirit Power was definitely enough.

"Maybe Spirit Hall Academy would be okay too. After all, we're quite close to Spirit City. When the time comes, he could directly enter the Spirit Hall Advanced Academy. With our son's talent, he'll definitely be valued!" As she spoke, she patted her son's head.

"Hey! What do you know! Our son will definitely become a noble of the Star Luo Empire in the future, so of course he has to attend the Royal Academy! Maybe he can become a City Lord in the future—no! Even becoming the Finance Minister is possible. By then, our family will truly become a clan with a legacy!"
