Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 — The Group Leader’s True Thoughts

Rin was jolted awake by the reminder and immediately realized the limitations of her own plan.

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Right! How did I forget—last time Omen Premonition found the crisis, it was the Group Leader who solved it too! (tongue-out.jpg)]

[Group Leader (Aizen): So it's more reliable if I personally go to Sakiko's world. I'll figure out how Raging Blood and will-erosion actually work, and see whether it's dangerous.]

The anxiety that had been hanging over her for so long finally dropped away. Sakiko let out a long breath, and the tension in her shoulders loosened—just a little.

She immediately replied:

[Classic Lunchbox (Sakiko): Thank you, Group Leader! I really appreciate it!]

Aizen's response came quickly, with a faintly helpless smile—like an elder looking at an overly formal junior.

[Group Leader (Aizen): Rin's interruption nearly made me forget to remind you. Sakiko, stop calling me "sir" and "my lord" and all that. (helpless head-shake.jpg)]

[Group Leader (Aizen): In this group, regardless of strength or the "level" of our worlds, we're all equal partners. Call me "Group Leader," or just "Aizen." Either is fine.]

"Equal partners?" Sakiko chewed on Aizen's words.

Ever since she put on the Willpower Glasses and started connecting the ugly truths hidden beneath polished surfaces, she'd developed an instinctive distrust of people "above."

In her world—outwardly ordinary, with no overt supernatural powers—mere control of resources and information was already enough for the elite to treat themselves as a different species, casually manipulating the rules.

So what about Aizen, the group leader?

A being who could rewind time for an entire world; a powerhouse who, in theory, could burn a world to ash; someone whose energy output was enough to sustain a chat group spanning countless realities—

With power that absurd—power that overturned the very notion of what was possible—was he truly as approachable as he appeared in the group?

Sakiko unconsciously bit her lower lip.

To the group leader… could someone like Rin, Mash, Tsunade—or herself, beings who couldn't even dream of leaving their home planet—really be considered "equals"?

Still, as she looked at Aizen's messages on the screen, the doubt inside her eased a little.

Whatever the group leader truly thought deep down, at the very least he was willing to maintain this surface-level respect and friendliness. For now, that was enough.

Overthinking would only create needless trouble—worse, it could damage this hard-won opportunity.

Cherish the goodwill in front of her. Get stronger. Become someone worthy of that respect.

That was what she needed to do.

While Sakiko's thoughts were still swirling, Aizen continued his scheduling:

[Group Leader (Aizen): As for timing—we'll do it after the group shop finishes introducing all of its products.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): The chat group isn't just a way to kill time anymore. It can affect your real worlds now.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): Everyone needs time to think about what goals you want to pursue going forward.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): I'll use that gap to go to Sakiko's.]

[Classic Lunchbox (Sakiko): Understood! Thank you, Group Leader!]

After sending it, Sakiko could feel it—her wording already sounded more natural.

That invisible distance created by calling him "sir" seemed to fade a little.

Just then, another message popped up from Rin.

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Speaking of which—I found another blind spot! (eyes shining.jpg)]

And with that, she dropped an image:

("Ah~")

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Has everyone noticed?! It feels like only Sakiko's Possibility Doppelgänger is on a power system that's completely different from her main body!]

Rin's statement successfully grabbed everyone's attention.

Even Sakiko stared at the screen, confused about what Rin meant.

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): My doppelgänger's ability is controlling machines—it feels a lot like a friend I know.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): But that ability and my own ether-control both seem unawakened, so they're weak…]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): But that's not the point! The point is—my doppelgänger's power is something that already exists in my world's system!]

Sitting cross-legged on her bed, Rin started counting on her fingers as she analyzed one by one:

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Sister Kafka's doppelgänger also uses Path power. The Path differs from her main body, but it's still within her universe's Path framework.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Mash's doppelgänger is even more obvious—it has mana and follows the magecraft system of her world.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): And the Group Leader doesn't even need mentioning—the doppelgängers he summons are just him from past loops. The "system" ultimately comes from himself.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): If we're representative cases, then given how many times the Group Leader has tested Possibility Doppelgängers, the results basically show that what you summon won't really jump outside your local world's existing power framework.]

After laying the groundwork, Rin pointed at what she believed was the key:

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Only you are different, Sakiko!]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Your main body awakened a Persona, right? It leans more toward the mental/psychological side—highly covert, with weak direct impact on the physical world.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): But your doppelgänger is on a "mixed-blood" route! That's bloodline-based physical power—extremely real-world and physical!]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): If your world really had mixed-blood beings like that… with that level of destruction and visibility, how could they possibly hide as perfectly as Personas do, without ordinary people finding out?]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): It would've blown up into a huge public scandal ages ago, right?! (arms-crossed.jpg)]

Rin's logic was clean and well-structured. Sakiko had to admit—Rin made a lot of sense.

Her world was a modern, highly networked society where surveillance was everywhere.

If mixed-blood beings truly existed, how could there be zero rumors?

There should've been something.

But just as Sakiko was thinking Rin's reasoning was airtight, Mash—apologetic and timid—raised a gentle objection:

[Grilled Eggplant (Mash): Um, Rin-senpai… actually… in theory, it can be hidden. (weakly raising hand.jpg)]

Mash was always like this—so considerate she worried even mild disagreement might crush a friend's enthusiasm.

[Grilled Eggplant (Mash): In my world, besides mainstream magecraft, there are also groups like Dead Apostles and True Ancestors—beings with extremely powerful physical bodies that are completely different from magecraft systems.]

[Grilled Eggplant (Mash): Just like magecraft, the Church and the Mage's Association have very mature concealment rules to separate Mystery from Reality. Ordinary people know nothing.]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Eh?! I-is that so?! (blushing.jpg)]

Rin was clearly caught off guard, her cheeks practically burning.

She could almost feel the gaze of everyone in the chat through the screen, and the embarrassment hit hard enough to make her want to dig a hole with her toes.
