Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Sub-Group Leader Authority (Chat Group Subgroup Leader Permissions)

[Group Assistant: Authority-type product: Sub-Group Leader Authority of the Chat Group. Concept extracted from [Group Leader].]

Price: 100 points.

Limit: Each member may redeem it only once.

After redeeming this authority, you may create an independent chat group subgroup separate from the main group. Subgroups are not interconnected with one another.

Subgroups must obey the following rules:

I. Subgroup Membership Limits

The maximum number of members in a subgroup equals the current total membership of the main group.

You may only invite sapient beings from the subgroup leader's origin world.

II. Invitation Methods

Random Invite: Free.

However, kicking a randomly invited member costs 10 group points.

Erasing their chat-group-related memories before kicking them costs 100 group points.

Manual Invite: Requires the target's consent, a straight-line distance of no more than 5 meters, and costs 100 group points.

Kicking a manually invited member requires no additional points.

III. Subgroup Functions

Group Status: Inherits the full functionality of the main group.

Group Teleportation: Subgroup members may spend 1 group point per use to teleport to another member's side, pending permission.

The subgroup leader cannot take subgroup members to other worlds via the main group's world-travel function.

When the subgroup leader travels to other worlds, they may choose whether to pause time in worlds that contain only subgroup members.

The subgroup leader may disable members' teleport permissions.

Group Check-In: Subgroup members may check in, but all check-in points are managed centrally by the subgroup leader.

Group Shop: Items from the main group shop may be purchased by the subgroup leader and transferred to subgroup members.

The moment this product appeared, everyone sucked in a sharp breath.

A cascade of exclamation marks flooded the chat.

Even Aizen himself froze.

He'd imagined countless concepts that might be extracted—First Flame, resurrection, cycles, rebirth…

He carried the inheritance of an entire world. There were simply too many concepts that could become products.

But when the answer finally revealed itself, it was the very first bond that connected them all—

the chat group itself.

And yet, thinking about it carefully, maybe the chat group really was the most fitting.

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Yessss!!! Admin privileges! I can be an admin too! (so excited I'm blurry.gif)]

[Purple Sweet Potato Taro (Kafka): Interesting—and the Group Leader's earlier guess was quite accurate.]

[Purple Sweet Potato Taro (Kafka): This subgroup's abilities are strictly confined to a single world. It really is a simplified version of the main group. (elegantly sips tea.jpg)]

Tsunade immediately spotted the problem:

[Giant Daifuku (Tsunade): Wait! Isn't that subgroup leader authority way too strong?]

[Giant Daifuku (Tsunade): All members' check-in points are controlled by the leader, shop items have to be purchased by the leader, the leader can disable teleport permissions, and can kick people whenever…]

[Giant Daifuku (Tsunade): That's practically life-and-death control over subgroup members, and this is still considered a "weakened version"?]

[Giant Daifuku (Tsunade): Then our main group… (trails off.jpg)]

She didn't finish the sentence, but the meaning behind that lingering ellipsis was obvious.

So the main group leader's authority—Aizen's authority—was it really as harmless as he always seemed?

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Staaare——.jpg]

[Purple Sweet Potato Taro (Kafka): Sipping tea, watching the show.jpg]

[Roasted Eggplant (Mash): 🙂]

[Classic Lunchbox (Sakiko): Peeking in to observe.jpg]

Aizen started sweating.

No, seriously—how did the chat group suddenly backstab him like this?

And the worst part was, he genuinely didn't have any special "leader permissions" in the main group at all!

[Group Leader (Aizen): I'm innocent! All of you! (hands raised in surrender.jpg)]

[Group Leader (Aizen): This chat group is truly equal for everyone! I don't have any weird permissions!]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Hey! Why are you panicking, Group Leader? (pat on the shoulder.jpg)]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Who would ever doubt you, right? We're one big loving family~]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): You shouldn't say things that hurt unity, okay~ (shifty eyes.jpg)]

Rin immediately jumped in to smooth things over with exaggerated cheer, trying to bury that flash of chill under jokes—but it looked exactly like "nothing to see here."

[Purple Sweet Potato Taro (Kafka): Rin is right. (presses lips into a small laugh.jpg)]

[Giant Daifuku (Tsunade): Ahem—of course. The Group Leader's character is still trustworthy. (tactical cough.jpg)]

[Roasted Eggplant (Mash): Senpai has always been helping everyone! (nods hard.jpg)]

[Classic Lunchbox (Sakiko): The Group Leader is so kind—how could we not trust you? (quietly agrees.jpg)]

The chorus of agreement rose and fell, carrying an overdone "casual" vibe.

Aizen rubbed his temples, caught between laughter and helplessness.

This was like getting mud smeared all over your pants—no matter what you said, it would never sound clean.

These people—usually they looked reliable, but when it mattered, every single one of them was a master at fanning flames.

He'd have to come clean. If he kept being vague, it might turn into real suspicion.

He took a deep breath and decided to tell the truth.

[Group Leader (Aizen): Alright, alright. I admit it—I have been hiding a tiny little advantage from everyone.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): But it's not the kind of "authority" you're thinking of! (wry smile, hands spread.jpg)]

Rin's face changed instantly. She flipped her position on the spot:

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): I KNEW IT!!! (Detective Rin Mode.jpg)]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): I knew you—looking all honest with those thick brows—were hiding something too!]

[Athletic Lunchbox (Rin): Come on, come on—confess! Be honest and you'll be treated leniently; resist and you'll be dealt with harshly! (popcorn.jpg)]

Rin's excitement ignited in an instant. Her gossip instincts roared to life.

[Classic Lunchbox (Sakiko): Rin, don't get too worked up… The Group Leader has always been good to us. He'll definitely tell us the truth. (only I feel bad for him.jpg)]

Sakiko—also extremely curious—played the gentle role at just the right moment, but that sticker at the end was blatant instigation.

A moment later, Aizen began speaking about his own situation.

[Group Leader (Aizen): Do you remember what I told you before? I once lived in a world on the brink of destruction, and I tried countless times to save it.]

That first line set a serious foundation. Everyone stopped joking and focused.

It was precisely because of the Group Leader's history of trying to save a world that they trusted him so much.

[Group Leader (Aizen): With the power of the First Flame, I truly could start over again and again—but it was never without cost.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): There is something on me called a Darksign. Each time I die, part of my memories leak out through it.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): I can no longer remember how many deaths I've been through. I forgot where I originally came from. I forgot where I ultimately wanted to go. I forgot who I am.]

The chat fell dead silent. Only Aizen's text kept scrolling.

[Group Leader (Aizen): And the more terrifying part is that what I forgot wasn't only the beginning and end of my journey.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): In the end, I let my world turn completely to ash in the First Flame—not because it truly could not be saved… but because I had completely forgotten why I was trying to save it.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): The reason that supported me through restart after restart disappeared.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): Love, hate, joy, sorrow…]

[Group Leader (Aizen): All the emotions that made me "me" were stripped away little by little as memories bled out through countless deaths.]

[Group Leader (Aizen): Until, at the very end, only the primal instinct to survive was left to drive me.]
