Chapter 3 - Chapter 3— Strange Dreams

Clang! Clang! Clang!

[Location: ???]

[Year: ???]

"Huff, huff." A young man in his early twenties panted heavily, his body resting on his sword.

His golden armor was cracked and completely destroyed in some areas. His golden-blonde hair that shined so beautifully on a normal day was dirty, part of it burnt as well.

The young man was currently bleeding slightly from his forehead as he raised his head to glare at his adversary.

A blue-skinned man who looked to be in his thirties. He wore a white regal battle attire, with red hair stretching all the way to his waist.

On his forehead two large black horns extended, wrapped around his head like a crown.

He gazed calmly at the young man who struggled to get up.

He then looked around at the ruined city filled with debris and flames now. What was once a bustling city, was now burnt to ashes.

Corpses littered everywhere. Both human and otherwise. Soldier and civilian. Adult and child.

And yet, this scene of carnage seemed to only amuse the blue skinned man. He then faced the young man on the ground.

"Those abyssal kings must've been completely useless. To think they struggled for almost two hundred years against you guys.

You are weak. You could hardly put up a fight once the horsemen awakened from their slumber." He said, as he walked toward the young man slowly.

"The human race. So much potential. Diverse gifts, and even favor from the gods themselves. Yet, they cannot match our might.

Ours is a race forsaken by the heavens and still, we are here." He said excitedly as he stretched his hands towards the heavens itself, a mocking smile on his face.

The golden-haired young man, simply glared at him as he spoke.

Seeing his silence, the man smiled as he continued. "Right about now, my soldiers should be destroying the other human territories...."

Then he abruptly grabbed the young man's face as he brought it close to his. "....This is the end of the human race!" He declared, a maniacal smile on his face.

The young man glared at him, then he suddenly smile.

The blue skinned man felt a chill rundown his spine as a golden radiant light burst forth from the young man swallowing everything in their immediate surrounding.

What followed was a—

BBOOMMM!!!

An immense and devastating explosion that destroyed everything nearly the entire city.

Everyone and everything caught up in the explosion died, no, was eviscerated on the spot.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the golden-haired young man lay on the ground, his body battered.

His armor was gone now as well as his hair. It burnt up in the explosion.

Cough! Cough!

He coughed out weakly. "Fuck." He groaned out in pain.

He had basically consumed all his aura in that one strike and currently lay battered and broken.

"Please tell me that got him. At least if he's dead, we can do something about the horsemen—" He muttered but was interrupted by footsteps coming toward him.

"Fuck, you're still alive?" He questioned weakly, his morale dropping as fast as they rose.

"Very well done." The man complimented as he walked out of the smoke. The top half of his clothes were burned off revealing his upper body which contained bruises from the blast.

But those bruises were fast healing like it was nothing.

"As expected of Lumina's chosen emissary. That was quite dangerous. If I didn't have part of that 'guy's' immortality, I would be dead right now." The blue skinned man commented as he touched the healing injuries in near admiration.

"This has been fun human. It really has but..." He then raised his head at the sky, almost lost in thought. "...I suppose all good things must come to an end."

Then, stretching his hand out, he scratched his whole arm drawing blood instantly. But the blood didn't spill over, rather, it began floating in the air as it began taking shape.

The blood formed a spear shape almost the same time his wound on his arm closed.

"In light of this wonderful battle we just had, I shall grant you the honor of dying to my actual power." The blue skinned man said, as he grabbed the red spear that had been formed from his blood.

Immediately he grabbed it, the spear turned golden as a radiant light shone everywhere.

The light coming off it give the golden-haired young man a familiar feeling. One he knew all too well as he used it regularly.

"Divinity." He muttered weakly, a weak and wry smile of resignation formed on his face.

"Exactly. Witness in awe, my divine strength rivalling the gods themselves..." He said, a grin on his face as he stretched his arm back with the spear in hand.

"...And perish." He declared with an air of finality as he hurled the golden spear at the young man.

And then, a large....

BBBOOOMMM!!!

A devastating explosion consumed the young man and the entire city, or what remained of it.

And then, almost like a dream, the sky cracked and everything vanished into nothingness leaving only a young boy standing there.

A boy in his mid-teens who stared blankly at the void he now found himself in, shocked by what he just witnessed.

"What... the hell was that?" Ryan could only mutter out.
