"Haa." Ryan sighed in tiredness as he reached the academy's class area for first years anyway.
[
"That's because I AM you dumb ai. I was up talking to you ALL night. So of course I'm gonna be tired." Ryan replied, his voice a little cranky due to just how tired he was.
He then stopped at a vending machine as he dipped his hand inside his pocket and brought out his wallet.
Inside the wallet were credit bills. He brought out a five credit note and inserted it inside the vending machine as he selected a drink.
A black coffee based drink.
Tssh!
The can sounded as he opened it and began pouring it's contents inside his mouth.
"Hm. Not bad." He muttered as he continued on his way towards the building.
As he walked toward the building, the conversation he had with this, ai, replayed in his head.
Apparently it's name was G.A.I.A. Short for, Guidance and Adaptive Integration Assistant.
And it's abilities were strictly guidance in more effective combat training and a special power it planned to show him this weekend on the expedition he planned to go on.
The night prior, he had decided that he couldn't wait and risk Aaron finding the fruit first and so he wanted to take preemptive measures.
Aaron finds the fruit in the second semester of their first year, so just about two months from now as they were already almost done with their first semester.
And so, even though it's two months ahead of schedule and he doesn't even know if the fruit would've fully formed at this point, he was going to try either way.
Afterall, the quicker he gets it, the quicker he can start growing to prevent that dreadful future.
Another thing he had resolved himself to changing last night was....
—"Ugh. He's still here?"
—"Why's that loser still hanging around? Take a hint already."
—"Get lost asshole."
—"You'd think he wouldn't have the balls to show himself here again."
—"Weakling."
"Tch." Ryan clicked his tongue in annoyance as he walked past a few fellow first years who snickered at him as he walked by.
Deciding to tune them out, he brought out his earphones and plugged them in his ears. Then, he brought out his phone and began playing some music.
He increased the volume loud enough so he wouldn't have to hear their whining.
This was the second thing he resolved to do. Change his reputation both in the academy and outside it.
In the future, humanity was going to need a commander-in-chief. A position he, who knew the future, was going to have to fill.
And he couldn't do that, if people did not at least respect him well enough to follow his lead.
And so he had to at least change the 'weakling' perception they had of him.
Almost lost in thought, he didn't know when he had arrived in front of his class door.
Seeing the sign above that read, [Class 1–A], he took a deep breath before he pushed the door open and walked in.
The classroom was large. Large enough to comfortably contain the seventy students in the classroom.
The classroom was only about half full when Ryan walked in, and immediately he did, a deep silence ensued as they all just quietly stared at him as he walked by.
"Oi oi oi oi. He actually showed up today." One of his classmates, a boy with blue hair murmured to his seat companion, his statement sounding more like a question.
He wasn't the only one. Almost everyone in the class was murmuring to each other, all equally shocked at the boy's attendance in the school today.
[
'Shut up GAIA.' Ryan thought inwardly, annoyance clear in his thoughts as he seemed fed up with the murmurings and was now in no mood to put up with this Ai's mockings.
Ignoring them, he walked to the backseats and sat down with no care in the world as he continued pressing his phone and listening to music.
And yet, try as he may, he couldn't completely block out the murmurings and stares he was receiving and his frustration began building as they kept saying things about him.
Some snickered upon noticing the frown he had on his face, knowing it was like that because of them.
BAM!
Having had enough of this, Ryan slammed the desk of his seat. The sudden sound shocked everyone in the room as they suddenly fell silent.
Ryan, at this point had stood up from his seat and was glaring daggers at them all.
"Is there something any of you would like to say to me?" He asked, in a surprisingly bold and slightly arrogant tone.
His tone surprised all of them. Not because he wasn't normally arrogant, but because he somehow still had the gall to be arrogant after yesterday's humbling.
And yet somehow, they couldn't say a word in response. Most of them anyway.
"Yes, there is."
Not all of them couldn't utter a word in response as a slightly deep voice resounded from the middle row of the class.
The person who spoke was a boy with brown hair that flowed freely all the way to his neck. He had blue eyes, and possessed a quite muscular physique.
He stood up from his seat and turned to face him, almost like he wanted Ryan to know who was talking back to him.
There was a cheeky smirk on his face, like he was looking down on Ryan.
Upon seeing him, Ryan instantly recognised him, and his anger soared even higher.
This boy was the third son of the Raventia family. One of the great nine noble families and the rulers of district eight.
David Raventia, the third ranked first year.
